Do you need strong, fortified protection? The tribe of Daus had a fort in the pre-Islamic days. The Apostle ﷺ declined this offer, since it (the privilege of protecting the Holy Prophet) had already been reserved for the Ansar. When the Apostle ﷺ migrated to Medina, Tufail son of Amr also migrated to that place, and there also migrated along with him a man of his tribe. But the climate of Medina did not suit him, and he fell sick. He felt very uneasy. So he took hold of an iron head of an arrow and cut his finger-joints. The blood streamed forth from his hands, till he died. Tufail son of Amr saw him in a dream. His state was good and he saw him with his hands wrapped. He (Tufail) said to him: What treatment did your Allah accord to you? He replied. Allah granted me pardon for my migration to the Apostle ﷺ: He (Tufail) again said: What is this that I see you wrapping up your hands? He replied: I was told (by Allah): We would not set right anything of yours which you damaged yourself. Tufail narrated this (dream) to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Upon this he prayed: O Allah I grant pardon even to his hands. (Using translation from Muslim 116)

The truest of word is the Book of Allah and best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad. The worst of things are those that are newly invented; every newly-invented thing is an innovation and every innovation is going astray, and every going astray is in the Fire.' Then he said: 'The Hour and I have been sent like these two.' Whenever he mentioned the Hour, his cheeks would turn red, and he would raise his voice and become angry, as if he were warning of an approaching army and saying: 'An army is coming to attack you in the morning, or in the evening!' (Then he said): 'Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his family, and whoever leaves behind a debt or dependents, then these are my responsibility, and I am the most entitled to take care of the believers.'" [Machine] "I traveled with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in some of his journeys, and I considered him to be a warrior. When we approached a caravan, he said, 'Whoever wants to hasten, let him do so.' I was riding a camel named "Armak" which had no equal among the soldiers, so I rushed towards it. But as I did, the people behind me caught up with me. While I was still in that state, my camel stood up and refused to move. Then I heard the voice of the Prophet ﷺ saying, 'What is the matter with your camel, O Jabir?' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I do not know what has happened to it.' He said, 'Hold on and give me the whip.' So I gave him the whip, and he struck the camel with a blow, after which it ran away with me, leaving all the other camels behind. Then the Prophet ﷺ said to me, at that moment, 'O Jabir, will you follow me with your camel?' I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Go ahead to the city.' So I went ahead to the city, and he entered the mosque. I tied my camel and said, 'This is your camel, O Messenger of Allah.' He came out and began circling the mosque with it, saying, 'What a good camel my camel is.' Then he said, 'O so-and-so, go and bring me some golden vessels.' He said, 'Give them to Jabir.' So I took them, and the Prophet ﷺ asked, 'Have you received the price?' I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Then the price is yours, and the camel is yours, or the camel is yours and the price is yours.'"

[Machine] Narrated to me a hadith that you witnessed from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ . He said, "My father passed away, leaving behind a debt of twenty wasq (a measure of weight) of dates, and we had different types of dates. The ajwah date was not sufficient to pay off our debt. So, I went to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and informed him about it. He sent me to my adversary, who insisted on taking the ajwah dates in full. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, 'Go and give it to him.' So, I went to our farmland in 'Arish with my companion. We gathered our dates and had a she-goat that we fed from the hushaf (a type of plant) until two men approached us. It was the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and 'Umar. I said, 'Welcome, O Messenger of Allah! Welcome, O 'Umar!' The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to me, 'Jabir, come with us and let's go around your date palm trees.' I replied, 'Yes.' So, we circled around them. Then, I commanded the goat to be slaughtered. The Prophet, ﷺ , and 'Umar, were provided with a pillow made of stuffed hair. As for 'Umar, I couldn't find a pillow for him. Afterward, we brought a table on which were placed fresh dates, dried dates, and meat. We presented it to the Prophet, ﷺ , and 'Umar, and they ate. I was a man of modesty and when the Prophet, ﷺ , got up, my companion said, 'O Messenger of Allah, pray for us.' He replied, 'Yes, may Allah bless you.' He repeated it again, 'Yes, may Allah bless you.' Then, I sent for my adversaries and they brought red camels and striped horses. I decided to buy date palm trees to fulfill my debt to them with the dates on my father's trees. I fulfilled my duty to them and also gave away twenty wasq of ajwah dates. Additionally, I gave them an extra amount as a good gesture. Then, I went to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , to inform him of the blessings that Allah had given me. When I told him, he said, 'O Allah, praise be to You!' He repeated it again, 'O Allah, praise be to You!' Then he said to 'Umar, 'Indeed, Jabir has fulfilled his debt to his adversary.' So 'Umar praised Allah."
