I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge from You from the trails of Al-Masihid-Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death. We left from there and [the Prophet] said to me, "Did you not see your cousin distancing himself from me?" I replied, "He was in the company of a man who was speaking privately with him." A'ffan said, "Did he have anyone with him?" I said, "Yes." He [the Prophet] said, "Then he returned to him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, was there someone with you?' Abdullah informed me that you were interacting with a man in private." The Prophet asked, "Have you seen him, O Abdullah?" Abdullah replied, "Yes." The Prophet said, "That was Gabriel, and he is the one who diverted my attention from you." A'ffan narrated [this incident] to us, that there was a man with you, having a private conversation with you.

She invited her father and some people from the Quraysh tribe, and they ate and drank until they became intoxicated. Khadijah said to her father, "Muhammad ibn Abdullah has proposed to me, so marry me to him." Her father married her off to him. She beautified him and dressed him in fine clothes, as was the custom with fathers. When his intoxication wore off, he looked and found himself well-dressed. He said, "What is this?" She replied, "Muhammad ibn Abdullah has married me to him." He said, "I am marrying the orphan of my father, not by my own age." Khadijah said, "Are you not ashamed? Do you want to disgrace yourself in front of the Quraysh? To inform people that you were drunk?" He did not leave her until he was pleased.
