[Machine] The Messenger of Allah mentioned Khadijah, and her father wanted to marry her off, so she prepared food and drink. She invited her father and some people from the Quraysh tribe, and they ate and drank until they became intoxicated. Khadijah said to her father, "Muhammad ibn Abdullah has proposed to me, so marry me to him." Her father married her off to him. She beautified him and dressed him in fine clothes, as was the custom with fathers. When his intoxication wore off, he looked and found himself well-dressed. He said, "What is this?" She replied, "Muhammad ibn Abdullah has married me to him." He said, "I am marrying the orphan of my father, not by my own age." Khadijah said, "Are you not ashamed? Do you want to disgrace yourself in front of the Quraysh? To inform people that you were drunk?" He did not leave her until he was pleased.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned Khadijah, the daughter of Khuwaylid, and her father wanted to marry her off. She prepared food and drinks and invited her father and the people of Quraysh, and they ate and drank until they became intoxicated. Then Khadijah said to her father, "Muhammad ibn Abdullah is proposing to me, so go and marry him." Her father married her to him, and she adorned him and dressed him in fine clothes. This is how they used to do with their daughters when they got married. When the intoxication wore off, he looked and saw himself in a well-dressed state, so he said, "What has happened to me?" Khadijah replied, "I have married you to Muhammad." He said, "I have married you, a fatherless girl, by my own life." Khadijah said, "Are you not ashamed? Do you want to disgrace yourself by telling Quraysh and the people that you were drunk and acted in that way until you agreed?"

They ate and drank until they were intoxicated. Then Khadija said to her father, "Indeed, Muhammad has proposed to me, so marry him to me." And she married him to her. She adorned him and dressed him in fine clothes. They used to do this with the fathers when they got their daughters married. When he became sober, he looked and saw that he was in fine attire, so he said, "What is the matter with me?" She said, "You have married me to Muhammad ibn Abdullah." He said, "Am I marrying the orphan of my uncle?" She said, "No, by my life." Then Khadija said, "Aren't you ashamed? Do you want to humiliate yourself in front of the Quraysh and tell the people that you were intoxicated and did not depart from it until you agreed?"
