[Machine] She used to play with the girls, so the Prophet ﷺ would bring my companions to play with me.
أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَلْعَبُ بِالْبَنَاتِ فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَأْتِي بِصَوَاحِبِي يَلْعَبْنَ مَعِي
[Machine] She used to play with the girls, so the Prophet ﷺ would bring my companions to play with me.
أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَلْعَبُ بِالْبَنَاتِ فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَأْتِي بِصَوَاحِبِي يَلْعَبْنَ مَعِي
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on that day, "Let the Jews know that in our religion there is room for tolerance. I have been sent with a gentle and lenient religion."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِتَعْلَمَ يَهُودُ أَنَّ فِي دِينِنَا فُسْحَةً إِنِّي أُرْسِلْتُ بِحَنِيفِيَّةٍ سَمْحَةٍ
[Machine] "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to persistently perform a certain prayer, and the prayer that he loved the most was the one that he consistently performed, even if it was little. He said, 'Verily, Allah does not become bored until you become bored.'"
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى صَلَاةً دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا وَكَانَ أَحَبُّ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَيْهِ مَا دَاوَمَ عَلَيْهَا وَإِنْ قَلَّتْ وَقَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَا يَمَلُّ حَتَّى تَمَلُّوا
[Machine] "The majority of the fasting of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , was during the month of Sha'ban, as he used to fast the entire month."
كَانَ أَكْثَرُ صَوْمِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ شَهْرٍ مِنَ السَّنَةِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَصُومُهُ كُلَّهُ
[Machine] "When it was the night of departure, I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, they will return with an Umrah and a Hajj, and I will return with a Hajj.' So my brother was sent with me, and I performed Umrah. Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascending while the people of Madinah were descending, and I was descending while the people of Makkah were ascending."
لَمَّا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةُ النَّفْرِ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ يَرْجِعُونَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ وَأَرْجِعُ بِحَجَّةٍ فَبَعَثَ مَعِي أَخِي فَاعْتَمَرْتُ فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مُصْعِدًا مُدْلِجًا عَلَى أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَأَنَا مُدْلِجَةٌ عَلَى أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to kiss her while he was fasting and suck her tongue.
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُهَا وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ وَيَمُصُّ لِسَانَهَا
[Machine] The prayer was prescribed as two units, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ added in the prayer of noon and left the prayer of travel as it is.
فُرِضَتِ الصَّلَاةُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَزَادَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي صَلَاةِ الْحَضَرِ وَتَرَكَ صَلَاةَ السَّفَرِ عَلَى نَحْوِهَا
'A'isha reported that she used to play with dolls in the presence of Messenger of Allah ﷺ and when her playmates came to her they left (the house) because they felt shy of Messenger of Allah ﷺ, whereas Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent them to her. (Using translation from Muslim 2440a)
كُنْتُ أَلْعَبُ بِالْبَنَاتِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ يَأْتِينِي صَوَاحِبِي فَكُنَّ إِذَا رَأَيْنَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْقَمِعْنَ مِنْهُ فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُسَرِّبُهُنَّ إِلَيَّ يَلْعَبْنَ مَعِي
[Machine] "A woman from the Ansar married off her daughter, and she experienced hair loss. So, she approached the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'Her husband wants her to shave her hair. Should she?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'May Allah curse those who ask women to shave their hair.'"
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ زَوَّجَتْ ابْنَةً لَهَا فَاشْتَكَتْفَتَسَاقَطَ شَعَرُهَا فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ زَوْجَهَا يُرِيدُهَا أَفَأَصِلُ شَعْرَهَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَعَنَ اللهُ الْمُوصِلَاتِ
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wet his beard with water when performing ablution.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ خَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ بِالْمَاءِ
[Machine] The translation of the passage "كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ خَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ بِالْمَاءِ" into English is:
"The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to wet his beard with water when performing ablution."
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ خَلَّلَ لِحْيَتَهُ بِالْمَاءِ
[Machine] "I opened the door and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was standing and praying. Then, he walked in the direction of Qibla, either to his right or to his left until he straightened himself, and then he returned to his place of prayer."
اسْتَفْتَحْتُ الْبَابَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي فَمَشَى فِي الْقِبْلَةِ إِمَّا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَإِمَّا عَنْ يَسَارِهِ حَتَّى فَتَحَلِي ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى مُصَلَّاهُ
Aisha during her menses used to comb and oil the hair of the Prophet ﷺ while he used to be in Iʿtikaf in the mosque. He would stretch out his head towards her while she was in her chamber. (Using translation from Bukhārī 2046)
أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تُرَجِّلُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ وَهُوَ مُعْتَكِفٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَيُنَاوِلُهَا رَأْسَهُ وَهِيَ فِي حُجْرَتِهَا
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ used to perform a ritual bath with a measure of water called "Saa" and make ablution with about a "Mudd." Safiyyah bint Shaybah or Muadhah reported this."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِنَحْوِ الْمُدِّ قَالَ يَزِيدُ عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ أَوْ مُعَاذَةَ
[Machine] "And he said, 'By the measure of mud and by the measure of sa'a'."
وَقَالَ بِقَدْرِ الْمُدِّ وَبِقَدْرِ الصَّاعِ
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ used to perform ritual bathing with a sa'a (a unit of volume) of water, and he used to perform ablution with a quantity equivalent to the measure of a mudd or something similar.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ بِالصَّاعِ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ بِقَدْرِ الْمُدِّ أَوْ نَحْوِهِ
[Machine] Aisha used to fast a lot, so it was said to her, "What motivates you to be so committed to religion?" And she said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say, 'No servant fasts and is determined to complete it except that he is aided by Allah.' So, I seek that aid."
أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ كَانَتْ تَدَّانُ فَقِيلَ لَهَا مَا يَحْمِلُكِ عَلَى الدَّيْنِ؟ وَلَكِ عَنْهُ مَنْدُوحَةٌ قَالَتْ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يُدَانُ وَفِي نَفْسِهِ أَدَاؤُهُ إِلَّا كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنَ اللهِ عَوْنٌ فَأَنَاأَلْتَمِسُ ذَلِكَ الْعَوْنَ
[Machine] It is forbidden for the Prophet ﷺ to have wine from the jar.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ
[Machine] The Prophet (PBUH) would not sit after his prayer except for as long as he would say: "O Allah, You are peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honor."
مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَجْلِسُ بَعْدَ صَلَاتِهِ إِلَّا قَدْرَ مَا يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
[Machine] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to have sexual intercourse with one of his wives while she was menstruating, he would command her to wrap herself with a cloth. And when he wanted to sleep while in a state of impurity (janabah), he would perform the ablution (wudu) for prayer."
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُبَاشِرَ إِحْدَانَا وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ أَمَرَهَا فَاتَّزَرَتْ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ
"My maternal aunt Maimunah told me that she and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Ghusl from one vessel." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 236)
أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ هِيَ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ إِنَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ
[Machine] If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had seen what the women are causing, he would have prevented them from entering the mosque, just as the women of Bani Israel were prevented.
لَوْ رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا أَحْدَثَ النِّسَاءُ لَمَنَعَهُنَّ الْمَسْجِدَ كَمَا مُنِعَتْ نِسَاءُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ
[Machine] She heard Aisha say, "If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the two Rak'ahs before dawn, he would shorten them. I would even ask, 'Did he recite in them the Mother of the Quran?'"
أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَيُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ اللَّتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ فَيُخَفِّفُهُمَا حَتَّى إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَقُولُ هَلْ قَرَأَ فِيهِمَا بِأُمِّ الْقُرْآنِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to seclude himself, and he would not enter the house except for a person's need. She said, "So I washed his head, and indeed there was a threshold between me and him at the door."
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مُعْتَكِفًا وَكَانَ لَا يَدْخُلُ الْبَيْتَ إِلَّا لِحَاجَةِ الْإِنْسَانِ قَالَتْ فَغَسَلْتُ رَأْسَهُ وَإِنَّ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ لَعَتَبَةُ الْبَابِ
[Machine] The translation of the passage is as follows: "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had semen on his garment, he would wash the affected area of his garment, then he would go out to pray, and I would notice a spot on his garment, which was the trace of the washing."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا أَصَابَ ثَوْبَهُ الْمَنِيُّ غَسَلَ مَا أَصَابَ مِنْ ثَوْبِهِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُ إِلَى بُقْعَةٍ فِي ثَوْبِهِ ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَثَرِ الْغُسْلِ
[Machine] About the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , she said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in his prayer. So I said: "Yes, but tell me more." She said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray the night prayer with the people and then he would go to his bed. And when he heard the call to Fajr prayer, he would get up.
عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَتْ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فَقُلْتُ أَجَلْ وَلَكِنْ أَخْبِرِينِي قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ عِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةِ ثُمَّ يَأْوِي إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَإِذَا
[Machine] Regarding the night prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "He used to pray the night prayer (Isha), then he would pray two rak'ahs after it, then he would sleep. When he woke up and had water next to him and his miswak (tooth-stick) covered, he would use the miswak and then perform ablution. Then he would stand and pray eight rak'ahs, in which he would recite Al-Fatihah and whatever he wished from the Quran. He (peace and blessings be upon him) once said, 'Whatever Allah wills from the Quran,' so he would not sit in any of them except in the eighth rak'ah, where he would sit, make the Tashahhud, then stand up without saying the taslim (salutation). He would pray one rak'ah, then sit, make the Tashahhud, supplicate, and then say the taslim once. He would raise his voice in saying the taslim to awaken us. Then he would say the takbir while sitting and recite, then he would bow and prostrate while sitting and pray two rak'ahs. This makes the total of eleven rak'ahs. When his flesh increased, and he became heavy, he made the nine rak'ahs seven. He would not sit except as he would sit in the first to pray the two rak'ahs while sitting. This was the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) until Allah took him."
عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِاللَّيْلِ؟ فَقَالَتْ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعِشَاءَ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَهَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يَنَامُ فَإِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ وَعِنْدَهُ وَضُوءُهُ مُغَطًّى وَسِوَاكُهُ اسْتَاكَ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ يَقْرَأُ فِيهِنَّ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَمَا شَاءَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً مَا شَاءَ اللهُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ فَلَا يَقْعُدُ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْهُنَّ إِلَّا فِي الثَّامِنَةِ فَإِنَّهُ يَقْعُدُ فِيهَا فَيَتَشَهَّدُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ وَلَا يُسَلِّمُ فَيُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَةً وَاحِدَةً ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ فَيَتَشَهَّدُ وَيَدْعُو ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ تَسْلِيمَةً وَاحِدَةً السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَرْفَعُ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ حَتَّى يُوقِظَنَا ثُمَّ يُكَبِّرُ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَيَقْرَأُ ثُمَّ يَرْكَعُ وَيَسْجُدُ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَيُصَلِّي جَالِسًا رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَهَذِهِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً فَلَمَّا كَثُرَ لَحْمُهُ وَثَقُلَ جَعَلَ التِّسْعَ سَبْعًا لَا يَقْعُدُ إِلَّا كَمَا يَقْعُدُ فِي الْأُولَى وَيُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَاعِدًا فَكَانَتْ هَذِهِ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى قَبَضَهُ اللهُ
[Machine] I asked the mother of the believers, Aisha, how was the night prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? She said, "He used to pray the night prayer, then he would mention a hadith, and then he would pray two units while standing, raising his voice as if he was awakening us. He would actually awaken us. Then, he would make a supplication that we could hear, and then he would make the salaam, raising his voice with it."
قُلْتُ لِأُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةَ كَيْفَ كَانَتْ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ؟ قَالَتْ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الْعِشَاءَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ وَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَائِمًا يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ كَأَنَّهُ يُوقِظُنَا بَلْ يُوقِظُنَا ثُمَّ يَدْعُو بِدُعَاءٍ يُسْمِعُنَا ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ تَسْلِيمَةً يَرْفَعُ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ
He who loves to meet Allah, Allah also loves to meet him, and he who dislikes to meet Allah, Allah also abhors to meet him. (Using translation from Muslim 2683a)
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللهِ أَحَبَّ اللهُ لِقَاءَهُ وَمَنْ كَرِهَ لِقَاءَ اللهِ كَرِهَ اللهُ لِقَاءَهُ وَالْمَوْتُ قَبْلَ لِقَاءِ اللهِ
[Machine] I asked Aisha, "How was the character of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ towards his family?" She said, "He was the best of people in character. He was not obscene, indecent, or vulgar. He did not shout in the markets, and he did not repay evil with evil. Instead, he forgave and pardoned."
قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ كَيْفَ كَانَ خُلُقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي أَهْلِهِ؟ قَالَتْ كَانَ أَحْسَنَ النَّاسِ خُلُقًا لَمْ يَكُنْ فَاحِشًا وَلَا مُتَفَحِّشًا وَلَا سَخَّابًا بِالْأَسْوَاقِ وَلَا يُجْزِئُ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ مِثْلَهَا وَلَكِنْ يَعْفُو وَيَصْفَحُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perfume himself with the purest of oils, to the point that I could see the shine of the oil in his hair. I would untie the necklace of the gift for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and then he would send me away. He would not avoid any woman among us.
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُحْرِمَ ادَّهَنَ بِأَطْيَبِ دُهْنٍ يَجِدُهُ حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَرَى بَصِيصَ الدُّهْنِ فِي شَعَرِهِ وَلَقَدْ كُنْتُ أَفْتِلُ قَلَائِدَ الْهَدْيِ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُ بِهِ فَمَا يَعْتَزِلُ مِنَّا امْرَأَةً
“I asked ‘Aishah about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at night. She said: ‘He used to pray for a long time at night standing up, and for a long time at night sitting down. If he prayed standing, he would bow standing, and if he prayed sitting, he would bow sitting.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1228)
قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي قَاعِدًا؟ قَالَتْ كَانَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ طَوِيلًا قَاعِدًا وَيُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ طَوِيلًا قَائِمًا فَإِذَا قَرَأَ قَائِمًا رَكَعَ قَائِمًا وَإِذَا قَرَأَ قَاعِدًا رَكَعَ قَاعِدًا
[Machine] "O Abu Aisha, I am the first one who asked the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , about this. He said, 'That was Gabriel. I have never seen him in the form in which he was created except twice. I saw him coming down from the sky with his legs spread apart, filling the space between the heaven and the earth.'"
يَا أَبَا عَائِشَةَ أَنَا أَوَّلُ مَنْ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ هَذِهِ؟ قَالَ ذَلِكَ جِبْرِيلُ لَمْ أَرَهُ فِي صُورَتِهِ الَّتِي خُلِقَ فِيهَا إِلَّا مَرَّتَيْنِ رَأَيْتُهُ مُنْهَبِطًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ سَادًّا عِظَمُ خَلْقِهِ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ
[Machine] "To wash away the traces of feces and urine from them, for I feel shy about it, and indeed the Prophet ﷺ used to do it."
أَنْ يَغْسِلُوا عَنْهُمْ أَثَرَ الْغَائِطِ وَالْبَوْلِ فَإِنِّي أَسْتَحْيِيهِمْ وَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَدْ كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُ
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to purify himself from major impurity, he would begin by performing ablution for prayer. He would then wash his genitals and feet, and he would wipe his hand on the wall. After that, he would pour water over himself, as if I could see the trace of his hand on the wall.
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا اغْتَسَلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ بَدَأَ فَتَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ وَغَسَلَ فَرْجَهُ وَقَدَمَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ يَدَهُ بِالْحَائِطِ ثُمَّ أَفَاضَ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءَ فَكَأَنِّي أَرَى أَثَرَ يَدِهِ فِي الْحَائِطِ
[Machine] The Prophet, ﷺ , would not leave anything in his house that had an image on it unless he would scratch it off.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَتْرُكُ فِي بَيْتِهِ شَيْئًا فِيهِ تَصْلِيبٌ إِلَّا قَضَبَهُ
[Machine] I asked Aisha, "O mother, with what did the Prophet ﷺ begin when he entered your house? And with what did he conclude?" She replied, "He would begin with using the siwak (toothstick) and conclude with performing the two rak'ahs of Fajr prayer."
قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ يَا أُمَّهْ بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ يَبْدَأُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْكِ بَيْتَكِ؟ وَبِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ يَخْتِمُ؟ قَالَتْ كَانَ يَبْدَأُبِالسِّوَاكِ وَيَخْتِمُ بِرَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ
"The Messenger of Allah died when his shield was in pledge with a Jew for thirty Sa's of barley for his family (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4651)
تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَدِرْعُهُ مَرْهُونَةٌ بِثَلَاثِينَ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ has decreed that the kharaaj (land tax) should be paid with guarantees.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَضَى أَنَّ الْخَرَاجَ بِالضَّمَانِ
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took my hand and pointed to the moon and said, 'O Aisha, seek refuge in Allah from the evil of this, for this is the eclipse when it occurs.'"
أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدِي ثُمَّ أَشَارَ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ فَقَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ اسْتَعِيذِي بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذَا؟ فَإِنَّ هَذَا هُوَ الْغَاسِقُ إِذَا وَقَبَ
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to Abd ibn Zam'ah: The legitimate child is for the bed, and the illegitimate child is for the stone. Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , commanded Sauda bint Zam'ah to veiled herself from him because of her resemblance to Utbah. So he did not see her until he met Allah."
رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَبْدِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ ثُمَّ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَوْدَةَ بِنْتَ زَمْعَةَ أَنْ تَحْتَجِبَ مِنْهُ لِمَا رَأَى مِنْ شَبَهِهِ بِعُتْبَةَ فَمَا رَآهَا حَتَّى لَقِيَ اللهَ
[Machine] I asked Aisha, and I said, "How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform the two units of prayer while sitting?" She replied, "He would recite in them while sitting, and when he wanted to bow, he would stand up and bow."
سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ قُلْتُ كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ؟ فَقَالَتْ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِيهِمَا وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ
[Machine] I asked Aisha, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sleep while he was in a state of impurity?" She said, "Yes, but he would not sleep until he washed his private area and performed ablution for prayer."
سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَنَامُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ وَلَكِنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَنَامُ حَتَّى يَغْسِلَ فَرْجَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ
“There would come a month when no smoke was seen in any of the households of the family of Muhammad ﷺ. I said: "What did you eat?" She said: "The two black ones - dates and water." But we had neighbors among the Ansar, sincere neighbors, who had domestic sheep, and they used to send some of their milk to us. (One of the narrators) Muhammad said: "And they were nine households." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4145)
لَقَدْ كَانَ يَأْتِي عَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ الشَّهْرُ مَا يُرَى فِي بَيْتٍ مِنْ بُيُوتِهِ الدُّخَانُ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا أُمَّهْ فَمَا كَانَ طَعَامُهُمْ؟ قَالَتْ الْأَسْوَدَانِ الْمَاءُ وَالتَّمْرُ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَهُ جِيرَانُ صِدْقٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ وَكَانَتْ لَهُمْ رَبَائِبُ فَكَانُوا يَبْعَثُونَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَلْبَانِهَا
[Machine] Zainab bint Jahsh was experiencing Istihadah (continuous bleeding outside of menstruation) during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . The Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed her to perform ablution for every prayer. If she found the place of blood to be filled with water, she should submerge herself in it and then come out. However, if blood was prevalent, she should remove it and then perform the prayer.
أَنَّ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ اسْتُحِيضَتْ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَمَرَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْغُسْلِ لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَتَدْخُلُ الْمِرْكَنَ مَمْلُوءً مَاءً فَتَغْمِسُ فِيهِ ثُمَّ تَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ وَإِنَّ الدَّمَ لَعَالِيهِ فَتَخْرُجُ فَتُصَلِّي
[Machine] She said, "I used to perfume the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he enters the state of ihram and when he exits it."
أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ كُنْتُ أُطَيِّبُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ يُحْرِمُ وَحِينَ يَحِلُّ
[Machine] "A sheep was gifted to Hafsah, and we were fasting. She then broke her fast with it, and it was her father's daughter. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon us, and we mentioned this to him. He said, 'Why don't you replace it with another day?'"
أُهْدِيَتْ لِحَفْصَةَ شَاةٌ وَنَحْنُ صَائِمَتَانِ فَفَطَّرَتْنِي فَكَانَتْ ابْنَةُ أَبِيهَا فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ أَبْدِلَا يَوْمًا مَكَانَهُ
[Machine] May Allah protect you from the punishment of the grave. Aisha rejected that statement, so when she saw the Prophet ﷺ , she said to him, and he said, "No." Aisha then said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told us after that, 'It was revealed to me that you will be tested in your graves.'"
لَهَا أَعَاذَكِ اللهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ فَأَنْكَرَتْ عَائِشَةُ ذَلِكَ فَلَمَّا رَأَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَتْ لَهُ فَقَالَ لَا قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ إِنَّهُ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّكُمْ تُفْتَنُونَ فِي قُبُورِكُمْ
[Machine] He heard Aisha saying, "I have broken the beads of the gift of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with my hands, so he sent them back to me and stayed standing, not leaving anything that he used to do."
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ لَقَدْ فَتَلْتُ قَلَائِدَ هَدْيِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدَيَّ فَبَعَثَ بِهَا وَأَقَامَ فَمَا تَرَكَ شَيْئًا كَانَ يَصْنَعُهُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a deer with beads on it, so he divided it equally between the free woman and the slave woman.
أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِظَبْيَةٍ فِيهَا خَرَزٌ فَقَسَمَهُ بَيْنَ الْحُرَّةِ وَالْأَمَةِ سَوَاءً
