ahmad:25710Wakīʿ And Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > al-Ḥakam > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswad

"I said to Aishah: 'What would the Prophet ﷺ do when he entered his house?' She said: 'He would busy himself with serving his family, then when (the time for) Salat was due he would stand (to go) for it.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2489)   

أحمد:٢٥٧١٠حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَمُحَمَّدُ بنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَصْنَعُ إِذَا دَخَلَ بَيْتَهُ؟ قَالَتْ كَانَ يَكُونُ فِي مِهْنَةِ أَهْلِهِ فَإِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ خَرَجَفَصَلَّى  

ahmad:25711Wakīʿ > Ibn Abū Dhiʾb > Khālih al-Ḥārith b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Abū Salamah > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took my hand and looked at the moon, then he said, 'O Aisha, seek refuge in Allah from the evil of this night when it overtakes.'"  

أحمد:٢٥٧١١حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ خَالِهِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدِي فَنَظَرَ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ فَقَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ تَعَوَّذِي بِاللهِ مِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ هَذَا غَاسِقٌ إِذَا وَقَبَ  

ahmad:25712Wakīʿ And ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Sufyān > ʿĀṣim b. ʿUbaydullāh > al-Qāsim b. Muḥammad > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed him and Abdur-Rahman said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissing him and Waki' said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed Uthman ibn Mazh'un while he was dead.' She said, 'I saw his tears streaming down his cheeks, meaning Uthman.' Abdur-Rahman said, 'His tears were flowing and his eyes were shedding tears.'"  

أحمد:٢٥٧١٢حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَبَّلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُ وَقَالَ وَكِيعٌ قَالَتْ قَبَّلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ مَظْعُونٍ وَهُوَ مَيِّتٌ قَالَتْ فَرَأَيْتُ دُمُوعَهُ تَسِيلُ عَلَى خَدَّيْهِ يَعْنِي عُثْمَانَ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَعَيْنَاهُ تُهْرَاقَانِ أَوْ قَالَ وَهُوَ يَبْكِي  

ahmad:25713Wakīʿ > Hishām > Abīhiʿan ʿĀʾishah

'Hind came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, Abu Sufyan is a stingy man and he does not give me enough for me and my child, except for what I take from his wealth without him realizing.' He said: Take what is sufficient for you and your child, on a reasonable basis.' " (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2293)  

أحمد:٢٥٧١٣حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

جَاءَتْ هِنْدٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ رَجُلٌ شَحِيحٌ وَلَيْسَ يُعْطِينِي وَوَلَدِي مَا يَكْفِينِي إِلَّا مَا أَخَذْتُ مِنْ مَالِهِ وَهُوَ لَا يَعْلَمُ قَالَ خُذِي مَا يَكْفِيكِ وَوَلَدَكِ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ  

ahmad:25714Wakīʿ > Isrāʾīl > Abū Isḥāq > Abū Maysarah > ʿĀʾishah

"The Messenger of Allah would fondle me while he was fasting, and he had the most control among you of his limb (li irbihi)." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 728)   

أحمد:٢٥٧١٤حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُبَاشِرُنِي وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ وَكَانَ أَمْلَكَكُمْ لِأَرْبِهِ

"The Messenger of Allah never beat any of his servants, or wives, and his hand never hit anything." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1984)   

أحمد:٢٥٧١٥حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

مَا ضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خَادِمًا قَطُّ وَلَا امْرَأَةً وَلَا ضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَنْ يُجَاهِدَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ  

ahmad:25716Wakīʿ > Sufyān > Ismāʿīl b. Umayyah > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUrwah > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

Messenger of Allah ﷺ contracted marriage with me in Shawwal and took me to his house as a bride during Shawwal. And who among the wives of Messenger of Allah ﷺ was dearer to him than I, and' A'isha liked that the women (of her family) should enter the houses as brides during the month of Shawwal. (Using translation from Muslim 1423a)  

أحمد:٢٥٧١٦حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

تَزَوَّجَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي شَوَّالٍ وَبَنَى بِي فِي شَوَّالٍ فَأَيُّ نِسَاءِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ أَحْظَى عِنْدَهُ مِنِّي؟ وَكَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ تَسْتَحِبُّ أَنْ تُدْخِلَ نِسَاءَهَا فِي شَوَّالٍ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Any condition that is not in the Book of Allah is invalid, even if there are a hundred conditions."  

أحمد:٢٥٧١٧حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا كَانَ مِنْ شَرْطٍ لَيْسَ فِي كِتَابِ اللهِ فَهُوَ بَاطِلٌ وَإِنْ كَانَ مِائَةَ شَرْطٍ  

ahmad:25718Wakīʿ > Isrāʾīl > Ibrāhīm b. Muhājir > Yūsuf b. Māhak > Ummih Musaykah

“We said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, should we not build you a house in Mina that will be a means of shade for you?’ He said: ‘No, Mina is just a stopping place for those who get there first.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3007)   

أحمد:٢٥٧١٨حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكَ عَنْ أُمِّهِ مُسَيْكَةَ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَا نَبْنِي لَكَ بَيْتًا بِمِنًى يُظِلُّكَ؟ قَالَ لَا مِنًى مُنَاخُ لِمَنْ سَبَقَ  

ahmad:25719Wakīʿ > Sufyān > Abū al-Zubayr > ʿĀʾishah And Ibn ʿAbbās

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ visited the house at night.  

أحمد:٢٥٧١٩حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ زَارَ الْبَيْتَ لَيْلًا

“Staying in Abtah is not Sunnah; the Messenger of Allah ﷺ only stayed there because it was more convenient for his departure.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3067)   

أحمد:٢٥٧٢٠حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

لَيْسَ نُزُولُ الْمُحَصَّبِ بِالسُّنَّةِ إِنَّمَا نَزَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِيَكُونَ أَسْمَحَ لِخُرُوجِهِ  

ahmad:25721Wakīʿ > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > ʿĀʾishah Waʾaflaḥ > al-Qāsim > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ asked about Safiyyah and said, "Did she detain us?" They replied, "O Messenger of Allah, she has just menstruated." He said, "Then she is not to be blamed."  

أحمد:٢٥٧٢١حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ وَأَفْلَحُ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ سَأَلَ عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ فَقَالَ أَحَابِسَتُنَا هِيَ؟ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهَا قَدْ كَانَتْ أَفَاضَتْ قَالَ فَلَا إِذًا  

ahmad:25722Wakīʿ > Aflaḥ > al-Qāsim > ʿĀʾishah

"We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ thinking that it was for nothing other than Hajj." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2718)   

أحمد:٢٥٧٢٢حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَفْلَحُ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مُهِلِّينَ بِالْحَجِّ  

ahmad:25723Wakīʿ > al-Aʿmash > Abū al-Ḍuḥá > Masrūq > ʿĀʾishah

“It is as if I can see the races of perfume in the parting (of hair) of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while he is reciting the Talbiyah.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2927)  

أحمد:٢٥٧٢٣حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَبِيصِ الطِّيبِ فِي مَفَارِقِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُلَبِّي  

ahmad:25724Wakīʿ > Aflaḥ > al-Qāsim > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] I presented the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with these two things in my hands when entering into the state of Ihram.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٢٤حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَفْلَحُ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

طَيَّبْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِيَدَيَّ هَاتَيْنِ عِنْدَ الْإِحْرَامِ

[Machine] I found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as the finest with the finest qualities.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٢٥حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

طَيَّبْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِأَطْيَبِ مَا أَجِدُ  

ahmad:25726Wakīʿ > Usāmah b. Zayd > al-Qāsim > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'It is for her a charity, meaning a good deed, and for us a gift.'"  

أحمد:٢٥٧٢٦حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ هُوَ لَهَا صَدَقَةٌ تَعْنِي بَرِيرَةَ وَلَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ  

ahmad:25727Wakīʿ > Hishām from his father > ʿĀʾishah

Prophet (saas) would supplicate with these words: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min fitnatin-nari wa 'adhabin-nar, wa min fitnatil-qabri wa 'adhabil-qabr, wa min sharri fitnatil-ghina wa min sharri fitnatil-faqr, wa min sharri fitnatil-masihid-dajjal. Allahumma aghsil khatayaya bima'ith-thalfi wal-barad, wa naqqi qalbi minal-khataya kama naqqaytath-thawbal-abyad minad-danas. Wa ba'id bayni wa bayna khatayaya kama ba'adta baynal-mashriqi wal-maghrib. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-kasali wal-harami wal-ma'thami wal-maghrami (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the tribulation of the Fire and the torment of the Fire, and from the tribulation of the grave, and from the evil of the tribulation of richness and the evil of the tribulation of poverty, and from the evil of the trial of the False Christ. O Allah! Wash away my sins with the water of snow and hail, and cleanse my heart from sin as a white garment is cleansed from filth, and put a great distance between me and my sins, as great as the distance You have made between the east and the west. O Allah! I seek refuge with You from laziness and old age, and from sins and debt)." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3838)  

أحمد:٢٥٧٢٧حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ وَفِتْنَةِ النَّارِ وَفِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَشَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْغِنَى وَشَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْفَقْرِ وَشَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ اللهُمَّ اغْسِلْ خَطَايَايَ بِمَاءِ الثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ وَنَقِّ قَلْبِي مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الْأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ وَبَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطَايَايَ كَمَا بَاعَدْتَبَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَالْمَغْرَمِ وَالْمَأْثَمِ  

ahmad:25728Wakīʿ > Zakariyyā > ʿĀmir > Shurayḥ b. Hāniʾ > ʿĀʾishah

He who loves to meet Allah, Allah also loves to meet him, and who dislikes to meet Allah, Allah abhors to meet him. There is death before (one is able to) meet Allah. (Using translation from Muslim 2684c)  

أحمد:٢٥٧٢٨حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَحَبَّ لِقَاءَ اللهِ أَحَبَّ اللهُ لِقَاءَهُ وَمَنْ كَرِهَ لِقَاءَ اللهِ كَرِهَ اللهُ لِقَاءَهُ وَالْمَوْتُ قَبْلَ لِقَاءِ اللهِ

[Machine] The bedding of the Prophet ﷺ was made of a stuffed palm fiber.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٢٩حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ ضِجَاعُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِنْ أَدَمٍ مَحْشُوٍّ لِيفًا

"If you wish then fast and if you wish then do not fast." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2308)  

أحمد:٢٥٧٣٠حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

إِنَّ حَمْزَةَ الْأَسْلَمِيَّ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّوْمِ فِي السَّفَرِ؟ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا يَسْرُدُ الصَّوْمَ فَقَالَ أَنْتَ بِالْخِيَارِ إِنْ شِئْتَ فَصُمْ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَفْطِرْ  

ahmad:25731Wakīʿ > Ṭalḥah b. Yaḥyá > ʿAmmatih ʿĀʾishah b. Ṭalḥah And Ibn Numayr > Ṭalḥah > ʿĀʾishah b. Ṭalḥah al-Maʿná > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] On the authority of his aunt Aisha bint Talha and Ibn Numayr, from Talha who said: Aisha bint Talha informed me from Aisha, the mother of the believers, who said: The Prophet ﷺ entered upon me one day and said, "Do you have anything?" We said, "No." He said, "Then I am fasting." Then, he came on another day and Ibn Numayr said, "After that." We said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have been presented with some hayz (kind of food made from dates)." He said, "Bring me a piece of it." So, I slid it to him and he said, "I have already started fasting, so I will eat."  

أحمد:٢٥٧٣١حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى

عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ بِنْتُ طَلْحَةَ الْمَعْنَى عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَتْ دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَلَيَّ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَقَالَ هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ شَيْءٌ؟ قُلْنَا لَا قَالَ فَإِنِّي إِذًا صَائِمٌ ثُمَّ جَاءَ يَوْمًا آخَرَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أُهْدِيَ لَنَا حَيْسٌ فَخَبَّأْنَا لَكَ مِنْهُ قَالَ أَدْنِيهِفَقَدْ أَصْبَحْتُ صَائِمًا فَأَكَلَ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ kissed a woman among his wives while he was fasting, then she laughed.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٣٢حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَبَّلَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ نِسَائِهِ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ ثُمَّ ضَحِكَتْ  

ahmad:25733Wakīʿ > Hishām Ṣāḥib al-Dastuwāʾī > Budayl b. Maysarah > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUbayd b. ʿUmayr > Āmraʾah Yuqāl Lahā Um Kulthūm > ʿĀʾishah

From 'Aishah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you eats food, then let him say: 'Bismillah.' If he forgets in the beginning, then let him say: 'Bismillah Fi Awwalihi Wa Akhirih (In the Name of Allah in its beginning and its end.)" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1858)  

أحمد:٢٥٧٣٣حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ صَاحِبُ الدَّسْتُوَائِيِّ عَنْ بُدَيْلِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ امْرَأَةٍ يُقَالُ لَهَا أُمُّ كُلْثُومٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ طَعَامًا فَلْيَقُلْ بِسْمِ اللهِ فَإِنْ نَسِيَ فِي أَوَّلِهِ فَلْيَقُلْ بِسْمِ اللهِ فِي أَوَّلِهِ وَآخِرِهِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ had a garment that was tailored for him, so he used to display its seams during prayer. He then gave it to Abu Jahl and took for himself a khirkani cloak.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٣٤حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَتْ لَهُ خَمِيصَةٌ مُعَلَّمَةٌ فَكَانَ يَعْرِضُ لَهُ عَلَمُهَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَأَعْطَاهَا أَبَا الْجَهْمِ وَأَخَذَ كِسَاءً لَهُ أَنْبِجَانِيًّا  

ahmad:25735Wakīʿ > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] It was reported that she used to comb the hair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while she was menstruating.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٣٥حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تُرَجِّلُ شَعَرَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ  

ahmad:25736Wakīʿ > Ismāʿīl > al-Shaʿbī > Masrūq > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] I used to thread beads of the gifts of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and then he would wear them and send them.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٣٦حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كُنْتُ أَفْتِلُ قَلَائِدَ هَدْيِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَيُقَلِّدُهَا ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُ بِهَا  

ahmad:25737Wakīʿ > Sufyān > Manṣūr Wa-al-Aʿmash > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswad b. Yazīd > ʿĀʾishah

That on one occasion the Messenger of Allah sent sheep as a Hadi and garlanded them. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2787)  

أحمد:٢٥٧٣٧حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ وَالْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَهْدَى مَرَّةً غَنَمًا مُقَلَّدَةً  

ahmad:25738Wakīʿ > ʿAlī b. Mubārak > Yaḥyá b. Abū Kathīr > al-Qāsim > ʿĀʾishah

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: If anyone vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him, but if anyone vows to disobey Him, let him not disobey Him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3289)   

أحمد:٢٥٧٣٨حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُبَارَكٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ نَذَرَ أَنْ يَعْصِيَ اللهَ فَلَا يَعْصِهِ  

ahmad:25739Wakīʿ > Sufyān > al-Shaybānī > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. al-Aswad from his father > ʿĀʾishah

I asked 'A'isha about incantation. She said: Messenger of Allah ﷺ had granted its sanction to the members of a family of the Ansar for incantation in curing every type of poison. (Using translation from Muslim 2193a)

رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الرُّقْيَةِ مِنْ كُلِّ ذِي حُمَةٍ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to say, "Wipe away the pain, O Lord of the people, with Your hand, as healing has no healer other than You."  

أحمد:٢٥٧٤٠حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقُولُ امْسَحِ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ بِيَدِكِ الشِّفَاءُ لَا كَاشِفَ لَهُ إِلَّا أَنْتَ  

ahmad:25741Wakīʿ > Kahmas > ʿAbdullāh b. Buraydah > ʿĀʾishah

"O Messenger of Allah, what do you think I should say in my supplication, if I come upon Laylatul-Qadr?" He said: "Say: 'Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa, fa'fu 'anni (O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me).'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3850)  

أحمد:٢٥٧٤١حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا كَهْمَسٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ وَافَقْتُ لَيْلَةَالْقَدْرِ بِمَ أَدْعُو؟ قَالَ تَقُولِينَ اللهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي  

ahmad:25742Wakīʿ > Ṭalḥah b. Yaḥyá b. Ṭalḥah b. ʿUbaydullāh > ʿAmmatih ʿĀʾishah b. Ṭalḥah > ʿĀʾishah

The Prophet (May peace be upon him) was invited to the funeral of a boy who belonged to the ANSAR and I said; Messenger of Allah! This one is blessed, for he has done no evil, nor has he known it. He replied : It may be otherwise, ‘A’ishah, for Allah created Paradise and created those who will go to it, and He created it for them when they were still in their father’s loins; and he created hell and created those who will go to it, and created it for them when they were still in their father’s loins. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4713)   

أحمد:٢٥٧٤٢حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَتْ

دُعِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى جَنَازَةِ غُلَامٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ طُوبَى لِهَذَا عُصْفُورٌ مِنْ عَصَافِيرِ الْجَنَّةِ لَمْ يُدْرِكِ الشَّرَّ وَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهُ قَالَ أَوَ غَيْرُ ذَلِكَ يَا عَائِشَةُ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ خَلَقَ لِلْجَنَّةِ أَهْلًا خَلَقَهَا لَهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي أَصْلَابِ آبَائِهِمْ وَخَلَقَ لِلنَّارِ أَهْلًا خَلَقَهَا لَهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي أَصْلَابِ آبَائِهِمْ  

ahmad:25743Wakīʿ > Abū ʿAqīl Yaḥyá b. al-Mutawakkil > Buhayyah > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] She mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the children of the polytheists, so he said, "If you wish, I can inform you about their fate in the fire."  

أحمد:٢٥٧٤٣حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ أَبِي عَقِيلٍ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ عَنْ بُهَيَّةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهَا ذَكَرَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَطْفَالَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ إِنْ شِئْتِ أَسْمَعْتُكِ تَضَاغِيَهُمْ فِي النَّارِ  

ahmad:25744Wakīʿ > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ arrived from a journey while I was hanging a saddle on my door, in which were horses with white wings. She said, "So he tore it."  

أحمد:٢٥٧٤٤حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مِنْ سَفَرٍ وَقَدْ عَلَّقْتُ عَلَىبَابِي دُرْنُوكًا فِيهِ الْخَيْلُ أُولَاتُ الْأَجْنِحَةِ قَالَتْ فَهَتَكَهُ  

ahmad:25745Wakīʿ > Ibn Abū Dhiʾb > Makhlad b. Khufāf b. Īmāʾ b. Raḥaḍah al-Ghifārī > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that what a slave earns belongs to his guarantor. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2242)   

أحمد:٢٥٧٤٥حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ مَخْلَدِ بْنِ خُفَافِ بْنِ إِيمَاءَ بْنِ رَحَضَةَ الْغِفَارِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ خَرَاجَ الْعَبْدِ بِضَمَانِهِ  

ahmad:25746Wakīʿ > Zakariyyā Wayazīd > Zakariyyā b. Abū Zāʾidah > al-Shaʿbī > Abū Salamah > ʿĀʾishah

Gabriel gives you a greeting. Replying she said: Upon him be peace and grace of Allah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5232)   

أحمد:٢٥٧٤٦حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا وَيَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهَا قَالَ يَزِيدُ قَالَتْ قَالَ لِيرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ يُقْرِئُكِ السَّلَامَ فَقَالَتْ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ  

ahmad:25747Wakīʿ > Muḥammad b. ʿImrān al-Ḥajabī Samiʿah from Ṣafiyyah b. Shaybah > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "My name is not permissible to be used as a nickname, and my nickname is not forbidden to be used as my name."  

أحمد:٢٥٧٤٧حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ الْحَجَبِيُّ سَمِعَهُ مِنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا أَحَلَّ اسْمِي وَحَرَّمَ كُنْيَتِي أَوْ مَا حَرَّمَ كُنْيَتِي وَأَحَلَّ اسْمِي  

ahmad:25748Wakīʿ > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father > ʿĀʾishah

None of you must say Khabuthat nafsi (My heart is heaving), but one should say Laqisat nafsi (My heart is being annoyed). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4978)   

أحمد:٢٥٧٤٨حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ خَبُثَتْ نَفْسِي وَلَكِنْ لِيَقُلْ لَقِسَتْ نَفْسِي قَالَ وَكِيعٌ الْغَثَيَانُ  

ahmad:25749Wakīʿ > Ḥammād b. Salamah > al-Azraq b. Qays > Dhakwān > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to pray on Al-Khumrah.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٤٩حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ الْأَزْرَقِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي عَلَى الْخُمْرَةِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command me to wear a waist-wrap (during menstruation) and then have sexual intercourse with me.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٥٠حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ أَتَّزِرَ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ ثُمَّ يُبَاشِرُنِي  

ahmad:25751Wakīʿ > Sufyān > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. ʿĀbis from his father > ʿĀʾishah

Never could the family of Muhammad ﷺ (afford to eat to the fill) the bread of wheat beyond three days (successively). (Using translation from Muslim 2970d)   

أحمد:٢٥٧٥١حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَابِسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

مَا شَبِعَ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ مِنْ طَعَامِ بُرٍّ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ  

ahmad:25752Wakīʿ > Isrāʾīl > Abū Isḥāq Waʾaswd > Isrāʾīl > Abū Isḥāq > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. al-Aswad from his father > ʿĀʾishah

used to perfume the Prophet ﷺ before his assuming the state of with the best scent available. (Using translation from Bukhārī 5928)  

أحمد:٢٥٧٥٢حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ وَأَسْوَدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كُنْتُ أُطَيِّبُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عِنْدَ الْإِحْرَامِ بِأَطْيَبِ مَا أَجِدُ قَالَ أَسْوَدُ حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَرَى وَبِيصَ الطِّيبِ فِي رَأْسِهِ وَلِحْيَتِهِ

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ , the snake is sinful, the scorpion is sinful, the crow is sinful, and the mouse is sinful.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٥٣حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ الْحَيَّةُ فَاسِقَةٌ وَالْعَقْرَبُ فَاسِقَةٌ وَالْغُرَابُ فَاسِقٌ وَالْفَأْرَةُ فَاسِقَةٌ  

ahmad:25755Wakīʿ > Usāmah b. Zayd > al-Qāsim > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] "That Burayrah used to serve as a secretary and her husband was a slave. When she was freed, she was given a choice."  

أحمد:٢٥٧٥٥حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ بَرِيرَةَ كَانَتْ مُكَاتَبَةً وَكَانَ زَوْجُهَا مَمْلُوكًا فَلَمَّا أُعْتِقَتْ خُيِّرَتْ  

ahmad:25756Wakīʿ > Hishām from his father > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was never given a choice between two matters except that he chose the easier of the two as long as it did not involve sin.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٥٦حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

مَا خُيِّرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ أَمْرَيْنِ إِلَّا اخْتَارَ أَيْسَرَهُمَا مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهِ مَأْثَمٌ  

ahmad:25757Wakīʿ > Nāfiʿ / Ibn ʿUmar > Ṣāliḥ b. Suʿayd > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] "She lost the Prophet ﷺ from his sleeping place, so she touched him with her hand and fell upon him while he was in prostration. He was saying, 'O Lord, grant my soul its righteousness, purify it. You are the best to purify it. You are its protector and its guardian.'"  

أحمد:٢٥٧٥٧حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ سُعَيْدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّهَا فَقَدَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مِنْ مَضْجَعِهِ فَلَمَسَتْهُ بِيَدِهَا فَوَقَعَتْ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ رَبِّ أَعْطِ نَفْسِي تَقْوَاهَا زَكِّهَا أَنْتَ خَيْرُ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا أَنْتَ وَلِيُّهَا وَمَوْلَاهَا  

ahmad:25758Wakīʿ > Yūnus / Ibn Abū Isḥāq > Mujāhid > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] The family of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ had a pet called Wahsh. Whenever the Prophet ﷺ would leave, Wahsh would become restless and play around in the house. But when the Prophet ﷺ would return, Wahsh would calm down and not move, as if he disliked causing any harm.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٥٨حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ يُونُسَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ لِآلِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَحْشٌ فَكَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اشْتَدَّ وَلَعِبَ فِي الْبَيْتِ فَإِذَا دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَكَنَ فَلَمْ يَتَحَرَّكْ كَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ يُؤْذِيَ

[Machine] Narrated Aisha: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not regularly perform the tasbih (glorification) of the Duha prayer, but I used to perform it.

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا يُسَبِّحُ سُبْحَةَ الضُّحَى وَإِنِّي لَأُسَبِّحُهَا  

ahmad:25760Wakīʿ > ʿAlī b. Mubārak > Karīmah b. Hammām > ʿĀʾishah > Yā Maʿshar al-Nisāʾ Iyyākun Waqashr al-Wajh Fasaʾalathā Āmraʾah > al-Khiḍāb > Lā Baʾs Bi-al-Khiḍāb Walakinnī Akrahuh

[Machine] I heard Aisha saying, "O women, stay away from using facial cosmetics." Then a woman asked her about using kohl (eyeliner). She said, "There is no harm in using kohl, but I dislike it because my beloved, ﷺ , disliked its smell."  

أحمد:٢٥٧٦٠حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُبَارَكٍ عَنْ كَرِيمَةَ بِنْتِ هَمَّامٍ قَالَتْ

سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ إِيَّاكُنَّ وَقَشْرَ الْوَجْهِ فَسَأَلَتْهَا امْرَأَةٌ عَنِ الْخِضَابِ؟ فَقَالَتْ لَا بَأْسَ بِالْخِضَابِ وَلَكِنِّي أَكْرَهُهُ لِأَنَّ حَبِيبِي ﷺ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ رِيحَهُ
