[Machine] I used to enter my house where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and my father were buried, so I would take off my clothes and say, "He is only my husband and my father." But when Umar was buried with them, by Allah, I did not enter it except while my clothes were tightly wrapped around me out of shyness from Umar.  

أحمد:٢٥٦٦٠حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كُنْتُ أَدْخُلُ بَيْتِي الَّذِي دُفِنَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَبِي فَأَضَعُ ثَوْبِي وَأَقُولُ إِنَّمَا هُوَ زَوْجِي وَأَبِي فَلَمَّا دُفِنَ عُمَرُ مَعَهُمْ فَوَاللهِ مَا دَخَلْتُهُ إِلَّا وَأَنَا مَشْدُودَةٌ عَلَيَّ ثِيَابِي حَيَاءً مِنْ عُمَرَ  

ahmad:25661Yaḥyá > Hishām And Wakīʿ > Hishām al-Maʿná from my father > ʿĀʾishah

When one of you dozes in prayer he should sleep till his sleep is gone, for when one of you prays while he is dozing, perhaps he might curse himself if he begs pardon of Allah. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1310)   

أحمد:٢٥٦٦١حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ وَوَكِيعٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ الْمَعْنَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا نَعَسَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فَلْيَرْقُدْ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ عَنْهُ النَّوْمُ فَإِنَّهُ إِذَا صَلَّى وَهُوَ يَنْعَسُ لَعَلَّهُ يَذْهَبُ يَسْتَغْفِرُ فَيَسُبُّ نَفْسَهُ

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ mentioned Safiyyah, and they said: 'She is having her menses.' He said: 'Is she holding us back?' They said: 'Indeed, she has already purified herself.' He said: 'Then there is no issue.'"  

أحمد:٢٥٦٦٢حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ هِشَامٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي قَالَ أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ ذَكَرَ صَفِيَّةَ قَالُوا حَاضَتْ قَالَ أَحَابِسَتُنَا هِيَ؟ قَالُوا إِنَّهَا قَدْ أَفَاضَتْ قَالَ فَلَا إِذًا

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said during his illness in which he eventually passed away, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." I said, "Indeed, when Abu Bakr stands in your place, the people will not be able to hear the crying." He said, "Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." So, I said to Hafsa, "Tell him that Abu Bakr cannot be heard crying. If only you had commanded Umar." He replied, "O companions of Yusuf, tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." Then, Hafsa turned towards me and said, "I would not be harmed by anything you do."  

أحمد:٢٥٦٦٣حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ هِشَامٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ قُلْتُ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ إِذَا قَامَ مَقَامَكَ لَمْ يُسْمِعِ النَّاسَ مِنَ الْبُكَاءِ قَالَ مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَقُلْتُ لِحَفْصَةَ قُولِي إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ لَا يُسْمِعُ النَّاسَ مِنَ الْبُكَاءِ فَلَوْأَمَرْتَ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ صَوَاحِبَ يُوسُفَ مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ فَالْتَفَتَتْ إِلَيَّ حَفْصَةُ فَقَالَتْ لَمْ أَكُنْ لِأُصِيبَ مِنْكِ خَيْرًا

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to like being conscious and careful in his purification, shoes, and walking.  

أحمد:٢٥٦٦٤حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُحِبُّ التَّيَامُنَ فِي طُهُورِهِ وَنَعْلِهِ وَفِي تَرَجُّلِهِ

“Hamzah Al-Aslami asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: ‘I am fasting, should I fast while traveling?’ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘If you wish, then fast, and if you wish, then break your fast.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1662)   

أحمد:٢٥٦٦٥حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

جَاءَ حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْأَسْلَمِيُّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ أَصُومُ يَعْنِي أَسْرُدُ الصَّوْمَ أَفَأَصُومُ فِي السَّفَرِ؟ قَالَ إِنْ شِئْتَ فَصُمْ وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَأَفْطِرْ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked us: "Have you considered divorce?"  

أحمد:٢٥٦٦٦حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَامِرٌ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَسَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ الْخِيَرَةِ؟ فَقَالَتْ

خَيَّرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَفَكَانَ طَلَاقًا؟

[Machine] I asked Aisha, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sleep while he was in a state of sexual impurity (junub)?" She replied, "Yes, but he would perform ablution similar to the ablution for prayer."  

أحمد:٢٥٦٦٧حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ هِشَامٍ يَعْنِي الدَّسْتُوَائِيَّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَنَامُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ وَلَكِنْ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ مِثْلَ وُضُوءِ الصَّلَاةِ  

ahmad:25668Yaḥyá And Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > al-Ḥakam > ʿUmārah > Ibn Jaʿfar Ibn ʿUmayr from his mother > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "A man's children are born from the best of his earnings, so eat from their wealth what is lawful and good."  

أحمد:٢٥٦٦٨حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ابْنُ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أُمِّهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ وَلَدُ الرَّجُلِ مِنْ كَسْبِهِ مِنْ أَطْيَبِ كَسْبِهِ فَكُلُوا مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ هَنِيئًا  

ahmad:25669Yaḥyá > Sufyān And Shuʿbah > Manṣūrwasulaymān Waḥammād > Ibrāhīm > al-Aswad

[Machine] Narrated Aisha: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited keeping of wild beasts (such as lions) and snakes, except that Shu'bah mentioned in a narration of Mansur that I asked whether it included gerbils or muzzafat (i.e., species not specified by the Prophet), and he said, "I am not adding anything to what I have heard."  

أحمد:٢٥٦٦٩حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَشُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍوَسُلَيْمَانُ وَحَمَّادٌ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ إِلَّا أَنَّ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ فِي حَدِيثِ مَنْصُورٍ فَقُلْتُ الْجَرِّ أَوِ الْحَنْتَمِ قَالَ مَا أَنَا بِزَائِدِكَ عَلَى مَا سَمِعْتُ  

ahmad:25670Yaḥyá > Hishām > Ḥaddathaniá Abū > Zaynab b. Abū Salamah > Um Salamah

"I am only a human being, and you bring your disputes to me, some perhaps being more eloquent in their plea than others, so that I give judgement on their behalf according to what I hear from them. Therefore, whatever I decide for anyone which by right belongs to his brother, he must not take anything, for I am granting him only a portion of Hell. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3583)   

أحمد:٢٥٦٧٠حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِى أَبِي عَنْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ تَخْتَصِمُونَ إِلَيَّ وَلَعَلَّ بَعْضَكُمْ أَلْحَنُ بِحُجَّتِهِ مِنْ بَعْضٍ وَإِنَّمَا أَقْضِي لَهُ بِمَا يَقُولُ فَمَنْ قَضَيْتُ لَهُ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ حَقِّ أَخِيهِ بِقَوْلِهِ فَإِنَّمَا أَقْطَعُ لَهُقِطْعَةً مِنَ النَّارِ فَلَا يَأْخُذْهَا

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to be impressed by consistent actions. I asked, "Which part of the night would he stand up (in prayer)?" She (his wife, Aisha) said, "When he would hear someone calling out for help."  

أحمد:٢٥٦٧١حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَشْعَثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُعْجِبُهُ الدَّائِمُ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ أَيُّ اللَّيْلِ كَانَ يَقُومُ؟ قَالَتْ إِذَا سَمِعَ الصَّارِخَ  

ahmad:25672Yaḥyá > Ibn Jurayj > Ibn Abū Mulaykah > Dhakwān Abū ʿAmr > ʿĀʾishah

"Seek the permission of women with regard to marriage." It was said: "What if a virgin is too shy and remains silent?" He said: "That is her permission." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3266)  

أحمد:٢٥٦٧٢حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ أَبِي عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ اسْتَأْمِرُوا النِّسَاءَ فِي أَبْضَاعِهِنَّ قَالَ قِيلَ فَإِنَّ الْبِكْرَ تَسْتَحْيِي فَتَسْكُتُ قَالَ فَهُوَ إِذْنُهَا  

ahmad:25673Yaḥyá > Ibn Jurayj > ʿAbd al-Malik b. Abū Bakr b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. al-Ḥārith b. Hishām from his father > Abū Hurayrah > Man Aṣbaḥ Junub Falā Yaṣum

[Machine] He heard Abu Huraira saying, "Whoever wakes up (in the morning) in a state of Janaabah (i.e. sexually defiled), he should not fast." Abu Bakr and his son 'Abdur-Rahman left to go to Umm Salamah and 'Aishah and they both told them. They said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wake up (in the morning) in a state of Janaabah without having had a wet dream and he would fast." Abu Bakr and his son 'Abdur-Rahman then went to Marwan and told him. He said, "I intended to bring the two of you for a meeting as soon as you both left to go to Abu Huraira and told him. They both went to Abu Huraira and told him. He said, "Yes." They both said, "We have informed him." He said, "They both have informed me, but Fadl bin 'Abbas informed me."  

أحمد:٢٥٦٧٣حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَصْبَحَ جُنُبًا فَلَا يَصُمْ قَالَ فَانْطَلَقَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَأَبُوهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَتَّى دَخَلَا عَلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَوَعَائِشَةَ فَكِلْتَاهُمَا قَالَتَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ غَيْرِ احْتِلَامٍ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ فَانْطَلَقَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَأَبُوهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ فَأَتَيَا مَرْوَانَ فَحَدَّثَاهُ قَالَ عَزَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمَا لَمَّا انْطَلَقْتُمَا إِلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَحَدَّثْتُمَاهُ فَانْطَلَقَا إِلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَأَخْبَرَاهُ قَالَ هُمَا قَالَتَاهُ لَكُمَا قَالَا نَعَمْ قَالَ هُمَا أَعْلَمُ إِنَّمَا أَنْبَأَنِيهِ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would sometimes experience seminal emission during the night while intending to fast. He would then perform ghusl (ritual bath) after the dawn had broken and complete his fast.  

أحمد:٢٥٦٧٤حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءٌ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ تُصِيبُهُ الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ الصَّوْمَ فَيَغْتَسِلُ بَعْدَمَا يَطْلُعُ الْفَجْرُ ثُمَّ يُتِمُّ صِيَامَهُ  

ahmad:25675Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Ismāʿīl > ʿĀmir > Abū Bakr b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman > Atá ʿĀʾishah > In Abū Hurayrah Yuftīnā

[Machine] "He who wakes up in a state of janabah (impurity due to sexual activity) should not fast, what do you say about that?" She replied, "I have nothing to say about that. I heard the caller announcing the prayer, and I saw water dripping between his shoulders, then he prayed Fajr (morning prayer) and remained fasting."  

أحمد:٢٥٦٧٥حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَامِرٌ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُ أَتَى عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يُفْتِينَا

أَنَّهُ مَنْ أَصْبَحَ جُنُبًا فَلَا صِيَامَ لَهُ فَمَا تَقُولِينَ فِي ذَلِكَ؟ فَقَالَتْ لَسْتُ أَقُولُ فِي ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا قَدْ كَانَ الْمُنَادِي يُنَادِي بِالصَّلَاةِ فَأَرَى حَدَرَ الْمَاءِ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي الْفَجْرَ ثُمَّ يَظَلُّ صَائِمًا

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ it has been narrated that he said: "Whenever a believer feels a thorn prick, then whatever is beyond it becomes an expiation for him."  

أحمد:٢٥٦٧٦حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا أَصَابَ الْمُؤْمِنَ شَوْكَةٌ فَمَا فَوْقَهَا تَعْنِي إِلَّا كَانَ كَفَّارَةً لَهُ  

ahmad:25677Yaḥyá > Abū Ḥarrah > al-Ḥasan > Saʿd b. Hishām > ʿĀʾishah

[Machine] "When the Prophet ﷺ rose from the night, he used to pray two units (rak'ahs) in which he would surpass."  

أحمد:٢٥٦٧٧حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي حَرَّةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ يَتَجَوَّزُ فِيهِمَا  

ahmad:25678Yaḥyá And Ibn Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > Qatādah > Ibn Jaʿfar > Qatādah > Saʿīd b. al-Musayyib > ʿĀʾishah

“There are five vermin that might be killed whether one is in or outside the sacred precincts: the snake, the speckled crow, the mouse, the vicious dog, and the kite.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3087)   

أحمد:٢٥٦٧٨حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى وَابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ خَمْسٌ يَقْتُلُهُنَّ الْمُحْرِمُ الْحَيَّةُ وَالْفَأْرَةُ وَالْغُرَابُ الْأَبْقَعُ وَالْحِدَأَةُ وَالْكَلْبُ الْكَلْبُ قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ يُقْتَلْنَ فِي الْحِلِّ وَالْحَرَمِ  

ahmad:25679Ḥajjāj Bimithl Ḥadīth Ibn Jaʿfar Sawāʾ > al-Kalb al-ʿAqūr

[Machine] And Ibn Ja'far Al-Aqur said.  

أحمد:٢٥٦٧٩حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ جَعْفَرٍ سَوَاءٍ قَالَ الْكَلْبُ الْعَقُورُ

وَقَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْعَقُورُ

[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ passed away, he was shrouded in three Yemeni white and reddish garments, meaning they were made of cotton. It was said that there was no shirt or turban in his shroud.  

أحمد:٢٥٦٨٠حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

لَمَّا قُبِضَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ كُفِّنَ فِي ثَلَاثَةِ أَثْوَابٍ يَمَانِيَةٍ بِيضٍ كُرْسُفٍ يَعْنِي قُطْنًا قَالَتْ لَيْسَ فِي كَفَنِهِ قَمِيصٌ وَلَا عِمَامَةٌ

"Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish came to the Prophet: 'O Messenger of Allah! I am a woman who bleeds continuously and never becomes pure. Should I give up prayer?' he said: 'No, that is just a vein and is not menstruation. Do not perform prayer during the days of your period, then take a bath, and perform ablution for each prayer, even if drops of blood fall on the mat.'" (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 624)   

أحمد:٢٥٦٨١حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ قَالَ لَا اجْتَنِبِي الصَّلَاةَ أَيَّامَ مَحِيضِكِ ثُمَّ اغْتَسِلِي وَتَوَضَّئِي لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ ثُمَّ صَلِّي وَإِنْ قَطَرَ الدَّمُ عَلَى الْحَصِيرِ وَقَدْ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ اجْلِسِي أَيَّامَ أَقْرَائِكِ ثُمَّ اغْتَسِلِي

"The Prophet used to bring his head close to me when I was menstruaring and he was in I'tikaf (seclusion in a mosques for the purpose of worship), and I would wash it and comb his hair." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 633)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recline on my lap when I was menstruating, then recite the Qur’an. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 260)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَضَعُ رَأْسَهُ فِي حِجْرِي وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ فَيَتْلُو الْقُرْآنَ

"The Messenger of Allah would fondle me while he was fasting, and he had the most control among you of his limb (li irbihi)." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 728)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُبَاشِرُنِي وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ كَانَ أَمْلَكَكُمْ لِأَرَبِهِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the afternoon prayer (at a time) when the (light) of the sun was there in my apartment. (Using translation from Muslim 611d)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would pray at night while I lay by his side during my menstrual period. A sheet of cloth would be partly on me and partly on him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 370)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا إِلَى جَانِبِهِ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ وَعَلَيَّ مِرْطٌ وَعَلَيْهِ بَعْضُهُ

[Machine] I asked Aisha, "Did the Prophet (PBUH) recite multiple Surahs in one unit of prayer?" She answered, "Yes, he did."

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray standing and sitting. If he started to pray standing, he would bow standing and if he started to pray sitting, he would bow sitting." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1647)  

أحمد:٢٥٦٨٨حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا فَإِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَائِمًا رَكَعَ قَائِمًا وَإِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ قَاعِدًا رَكَعَ قَاعِدًا

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray while sitting after he reached old age, until the remaining verses of the Surah were thirty or forty, then he would stand and recite, then he would perform a bow.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Seek Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power) during the last ten nights of Ramadan."

I aksed 'A'isha whether the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe the forenoon prayer. She said: No, except when he came back from a journey. (Using translation from Muslim 717b)

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to shorten his two units of prayer during Fajr.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed Witr at the beginning of the night and at the end and in the middle. And in the end he settled on praying Witr just before dawn. (Using translation from Aḥmad 653)

مِنْ كُلِّ اللَّيْلِ قَدْ أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ أَوَّلِهِ وَأَوْسَطِهِ وَآخِرِهِ فَانْتَهَى وَتْرُهُ إِلَى السَّحَرِ فَمَاتَ وَهُوَ يُوتِرُ بِالسَّحَرِ

Masruq reported on the authority of 'A'isha that she said that the Messenger Of Allah ﷺ used to observe the Witr prayer every night, maybe in the early part of night, at midnight and in the latter part, finishing his Witr at dawn. (Using translation from Muslim 745b)

مِنْ كُلِّ اللَّيْلِ قَدْ أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ أَوَّلِهِ وَوَسَطِهِ وَآخِرِهِ فَانْتَهَى وَتْرُهُ إِلَى السَّحَرِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺused to pray at night while I was lying down sleeping between him and the Qibla on his bed. When he wanted to pray witr he would wake me up and I would pray witr" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 759)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا مُعْتَرِضَةٌ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يُوتِرَ أَيْقَظَنِي فَأَوْتَرْتُ

[Machine] "Wake me up," the Prophet ﷺ said, "and ask my people to pray Witr."

أَيْقَظَنِي تَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ قُومِي فَأَوْتِرِي

[Machine] I never saw the Prophet ﷺ reciting the last verses of the Qur'an except when he was laying down beside me.

مَا كُنْتُ أَلْقَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مِنْ آخِرِ السَّحَرِ إِلَّا وَهُوَ نَائِمٌ عِنْدِي

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If one of you dozes off during his prayer, he should lie down, for perhaps he intends to seek forgiveness and consequently curse himself."

[Machine] Ammar came with his camel and sought permission to speak to Aisha. She said, "O my mother!". He replied, "I am not your mother." She said, "Yes, you are, even if you dislike it." He asked, "Who is this with you?" She said, "This is Al-Ashtar." He said, "You are the one who wanted to kill my cousin's son." He replied, "Yes, I wanted to kill him and he also wanted to kill me." She said, "If you had killed him, you would have never succeeded. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: 'No Muslim's blood is lawful to shed except in one of three cases: a man who commits murder and is killed, a man who commits adultery after being married, or a man who renounces his religion after embracing Islam.'"  

أحمد:٢٥٧٠٠حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَإِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَالِبٍ قَالَ

جَاءَ عَمَّارٌ وَمَعَهُ الْأَشْتَرُ يَسْتَأْذِنُ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ قَالَ يَا أُمَّهْفَقَالَتْ لَسْتُ لَكَ بِأُمٍّ قَالَ بَلَى وَإِنْ كَرِهْتِ قَالَتْ مَنْ هَذَا مَعَكَ قَالَ هَذَا الْأَشْتَرُ قَالَتْ أَنْتَ الَّذِي أَرَدْتَ قَتْلَ ابْنِ أُخْتِي قَالَ قَدْ أَرَدْتُ قَتْلَهُ وَأَرَادَ قَتْلِي قَالَتْ أَمَا لَوْ قَتَلْتَهُ مَا أَفْلَحْتَ أَبَدًا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يُحِلُّ دَمَ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ إِلَّا إِحْدَى ثَلَاثَةٍ رَجُلٌ قَتَلَ فَقُتِلَ أَوْ رَجُلٌ زَنَى بَعْدَمَا أُحْصِنَ أَوْ رَجُلٌ ارْتَدَّ بَعْدَ إِسْلَامِهِ

I heard that never a prophet dies until he is given an option to opt the life of (this) world or that of the Hereafter. She further said: I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ say in his last illness in which he' died. I heard him saying in gruffness of the voice: Along with those persons upon whom Allah bestowed favours from amongst the Apostles, the testifiers of truth, the martyrs, the pious and goodly company are they (iv. 69). (It was on bearing these words) that I thought that he had been given choice (and he opted to live with these pious persons in the Paradise). (Using translation from Muslim 2444c)

أَسْمَعُ لَا يَمُوتُ نَبِيٌّ حَتَّى يُخَيَّرَ بَيْنَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ قَالَتْ فَأَصَابَتْهُ بُحَّةٌ فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ مَعَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ وَحَسُنَ أُولَئِكَ رَفِيقًافَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ خُيِّرَ

The Prophet ﷺ used to pray witr with five and he did not sit except in the last (rak'ah) of them. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1717)   

أحمد:٢٥٧٠٢حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِخَمْسِ رَكَعَاتٍ لَا يَجْلِسُ إِلَّا فِي آخِرِهِنَّ

"The Messenger of Allah gave us the choice and we chose him; was that a divorce?" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3441)  

أحمد:٢٥٧٠٣حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

خَيَّرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَاخْتَرْنَاهُ فَهَلْ كَانَ طَلَاقًا

The most despicable amongst persons in the eye of Allah is one who tries to fall into dispute with others (for nothing but only to display his knowledge and power of argumentation). (Using translation from Muslim 2668)  

أحمد:٢٥٧٠٤حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَبْغَضَ الرِّجَالِ إِلَى اللهِ ﷻ الْأَلَدُّ الْخَصِمُ  

ahmad:25705Wakīʿ > Mālik b. Mighwal > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Saʿīd b. Wahb al-Hamdānī > ʿĀʾishah

“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, ‘And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear.” [23:60] Is this the one who commits adultery, steals and drinks alcohol?’ He said: ‘No, O daughter of Abu Bakr’ – O daughter of Siddiq – rather it is a man who fasts and gives charity and prays, but he fears that those will not be accepted from him.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4198)  

أحمد:٢٥٧٠٥حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ الَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آَتَوْا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَهُوَ الرَّجُلُ يَزْنِي وَيَسْرِقُ وَيَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ؟ قَالَ لَا يَا بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ أَوْ لَا يَا بِنْتَ الصِّدِّيقِ وَلَكِنَّهُ الرَّجُلُ يَصُومُ وَيُصَلِّي وَيَتَصَدَّقُ وَهُوَ يَخَافُ أَنْ لَا يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ

[Machine] A Jewess entered upon me and mentioned the torment of the grave, so I denied it. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me, so I asked him. He said, "You have spoken the truth, by Him in whose hand is my soul, they are indeed punished in their graves until their voices are heard by the animals."  

أحمد:٢٥٧٠٦حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

دَخَلَتْ عَلَيَّ يَهُودِيَّةٌ فَذَكَرَتْ عَذَابَ الْقَبْرِفَكَذَّبْتُهَا فَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَسَأَلْتُهُ؟ فَقَالَ صَدَقَتْ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهُمْ لَيُعَذَّبُونَ فِي قُبُورِهِمْ حَتَّى تَسْمَعَ أَصْوَاتَهُمُ الْبَهَائِمُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever is held accountable will be destroyed." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, does not Allah say, 'So he will be questioned with an easy accounting'?" He said, "O Aisha, that is referring to the presentation. Whoever is questioned in detail will indeed be destroyed."  

أحمد:٢٥٧٠٧قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ وَرْدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ حُوسِبَ هَلَكَ قَالَتْ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَيْسَ يَقُولُ اللهُ ﷻ {فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا} [الانشقاق 8] ؟ قَالَ يَا عَائِشَةُ ذَاكَ الْعَرْضُ مَنْ نُوقِشَ الْحِسَابَ فَقَدْ هَلَكَ

[Machine] I backbited her in a way that I don't like that I talked about someone and that I have this and that.  

أحمد:٢٥٧٠٨حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْأَقْمَرِ عَنْ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا ذَكَرَتْ امْرَأَةً وَقَالَ مَرَّةً حَكَتْ امْرَأَةً وَقَالَتْ إِنَّهَا قَصِيرَةٌ فَقَالَ

اغْتَبْتِهَا مَا أُحِبُّ أَنِّي حَكَيْتُ أَحَدًا وَأَنَّ لِي كَذَا وَكَذَا

[Machine] The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Gentleness enhances everything it touches and is never removed from anything without making it better."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا كَانَ الرِّفْقُ فِي شَيْءٍ قَطُّ إِلَّا زَانَهُ وَلَا عُزِلَ عَنْهُ إِلَّا شَانَهُ
