[Machine] I heard Aisha saying, "O women, stay away from using facial cosmetics." Then a woman asked her about using kohl (eyeliner). She said, "There is no harm in using kohl, but I dislike it because my beloved, ﷺ , disliked its smell."  

أحمد:٢٥٧٦٠حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُبَارَكٍ عَنْ كَرِيمَةَ بِنْتِ هَمَّامٍ قَالَتْ

سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ إِيَّاكُنَّ وَقَشْرَ الْوَجْهِ فَسَأَلَتْهَا امْرَأَةٌ عَنِ الْخِضَابِ؟ فَقَالَتْ لَا بَأْسَ بِالْخِضَابِ وَلَكِنِّي أَكْرَهُهُ لِأَنَّ حَبِيبِي ﷺ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ رِيحَهُ

Karimah, daughter of Hammam, told that a woman came to Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) and asked her about dyeing with henna. She replied: There is no harm, but I do not like it. My beloved, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, disliked its odour. Abu Dawud said: She meant the colour of hair of the head.

أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ فَسَأَلَتْهَا عَنْ خِضَابِ الْحِنَّاءِ فَقَالَتْ لاَ بَأْسَ بِهِ وَلَكِنِّي أَكْرَهُهُ كَانَ حَبِيبِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَكْرَهُ رِيحَهُ  

قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ تَعْنِي خِضَابَ شَعْرِ الرَّأْسِ
