[Machine] I love poverty as a means of humbling myself before my Lord, and I love death as a longing for my Lord, and I love illness as an atonement for my sins.  

الزهد لأحمد:٨١١حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ شَيْخٍ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ قَالَ

أُحِبُّ الْفَقْرَ تَوَاضُعًا لِرَبِّي ﷻ وَأُحِبُّ الْمَوْتَ اشْتِيَاقًا إِلَى رَبٍّي ﷻ وَأُحِبُّ الْمَرَضَ تَكْفِيرًا لِخَطَايَايَ
