[Machine] Do not do it, for if you love him, I love him for the sake of Allah.
لَا تَفْعَلْ فَإِنَّ أَحَبَّهُ إِلَيَّ أَحَبُّهُ لِلَّهِ ﷻ
[Machine] Do not do it, for if you love him, I love him for the sake of Allah.
لَا تَفْعَلْ فَإِنَّ أَحَبَّهُ إِلَيَّ أَحَبُّهُ لِلَّهِ ﷻ
[Machine] He used to greet me, but when I got sick, the greetings stopped. So I said to him, "Did the greeting come to you from your head or from your feet?" He said, "No, rather it came from my head." I said, "But I do not know that you are dead until that happens." So when it happened later, he said, "I felt that the greetings have returned to me," then he did not live for long until he died.
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُسَلَّمُ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا اكْتَوَيْتُ انْقَطَعَ التَّسْلِيمُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ مِنْ قِبَلِ رَأْسِكَ كَانَ يَأْتِيكَ التَّسْلِيمُ أَمْ مِنْ قِبَلِ رِجْلَيْكَ؟ [123] فَقَالَ لَا بَلْ مِنْ قِبَلِ رَأْسِي قُلْتُ فَإِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي أَنْ تَمُوتَ حَتَّى يَعُودَ ذَلِكَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ بَعْدُ قَالَ أُشْعِرْتُ أَنَّ التَّسْلِيمَ عَادَ لِي ثُمَّ لَمْ يَلْبَثْ إِلَّا يَسِيرًا حَتَّى مَاتَ
[Machine] Al-Hasan used to say, "No one settled in Basra like him," meaning Imran ibn Husain.
كَانَ الْحَسَنُ يَقُولُ مَا سَكَنَ الْبَصْرَةَ مِثْلَهُ يَعْنِي عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ
[Machine] I have not touched my private part with my right hand since I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .
مَامَسَسْتُ فَرْجِي بِيَمِينِي مُنْذُ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The most beloved thing to Allah is the strangers." It was said, "Who are the strangers?" He said, "Those who flee for the sake of their religion. Allah will resurrect them on the Day of Judgment with Jesus, the son of Mary, ﷺ ." Abu Abdur-Rahman heard Sufyan ibn Waki' saying, "I hope that Ahmad ibn Hanbal will be among them."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَحَبُّ شَيْءٍ إِلَى اللَّهِ الْغُرَبَاءُ» قِيلَ وَمَنِ الْغُرَبَاءُ؟ قَالَ الْفَرَّارُونَ بِدِينِهِمْ؛ يَبْعَثُهُمُ اللَّهُ ﷻ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَعَ عِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ سَمِعْتُ سُفْيَانَ بْنَ وَكِيعٍ يَقُولُ إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ يَكُونَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ مِنْهُمْ
[Machine] Whenever a group of people gather to remember Allah, Allah mentions them in a gathering better and more honorable than theirs. And whenever a group of people disperses without remembering Allah in their gathering, it will be a regret for them on the Day of Resurrection.
مَا اجْتَمَعَ مَلَأٌ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ إِلَّا ذَكَرَهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي مَلَأٍ أَعَزُّ مِنْهُمْ وَأَكْرَمُ وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ قَوْمٌ لَمْ يَذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ﷻ فِي مَجْلِسِهِمْ إِلَّا كَانَ حَسْرَةً عَلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
[Machine] I love poverty as a means of humbling myself before my Lord, and I love death as a longing for my Lord, and I love illness as an atonement for my sins.
أُحِبُّ الْفَقْرَ تَوَاضُعًا لِرَبِّي ﷻ وَأُحِبُّ الْمَوْتَ اشْتِيَاقًا إِلَى رَبٍّي ﷻ وَأُحِبُّ الْمَرَضَ تَكْفِيرًا لِخَطَايَايَ
[Machine] Abdullah ibn Mas'ud used to say: "Adhere to honesty because it leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. Beware of lying because it leads to immorality, and immorality leads to Hellfire. Indeed, he used to say the truth and be righteous, and he used to lie and commit evil deeds."
أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ كَانَ يَقُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالصِّدْقِ فَإِنَّهُ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْبِرِّ وَالْبِرُّ يَهْدِي إِلَى [124] الْجَنَّةِ وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالْكَذِبَ فَإِنَّ الْكَذِبَ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْفُجُورِ وَالْفُجُورَ يَهْدِي إِلَى النَّارِ وَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ صَدَقَ وَبَرَّ وَكَذَبَ وَفَجَرَ
