[Machine] I heard Sa'id ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz saying, "Zubayr ibn al-'Awwam, may Allah have mercy on him, had a thousand slaves who would bring him the tribute. He would distribute it every night and then he would go to his house with nothing from it."  

الزهد لأحمد:٧٧٥حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي مَنْ سَمِعَ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ يَقُولُ كَانَ لِلزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ أَلْفُ مَمْلُوكٍ يُؤَدُّونَ إِلَيْهِ الْخَرَاجَ وَكَانَ يُقَسِّمُهُ كُلَّ لَيْلَةٍ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ لَيْسَ مَعَهُ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ
