33.30 A man saying, "May my father and mother be my ransom"

٣٣۔٣٠ بَابُ قَوْلِ الرَّجُلِ: فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي

'Abdullah ibn Shaddad said, "I heard 'Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, say, 'I did not see the Prophet ﷺ saying, ("May my father and mother be) your ransom" after Sa'd. I heard him say to him, "May my father and mother be your ransom."'"

الأدب المفرد:٨٠٤حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ مَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُفَدِّي رَجُلاً بَعْدَ سَعْدٍ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ارْمِ فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي

'Abdullah ibn Burayda related that his father said, "The Prophet ﷺ went out to the mosque while Abu Musa was reciting and asked, 'Who is this?' 'I am Burayda,' I replied, 'May I be your ransom!' He said, 'This man has been given one of the flutes of the family of Da'ud.'"
