who was one of the companions of the tree (who gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ underneath the tree at Ḥudaybiyyah) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever swears by a religion other than Islam then he is really so. A child of Adam is not bound to fulfill a vow to Allah about a thing which he does not possess."

"If someone commits suicide with anything in this world, he will be tortured with it on the Day of Resurrection. If somebody curses a believer then his sin will be as if he killed him. And whoever accuses a believer of kufr (disbelief) then it is as if he killed him."

وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الشَّجَرَةِ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: «مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى مِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الإِسْلاَمِ فَهْوَ كَمَا قَالَ؛ وَلَيْسَ عَلَى ابْنِ آدَمَ نَذْرٌ فِيمَا لاَ يَمْلِكُ؛»

«وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَىْءٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ؛ وَمَنْ لَعَنَ مُؤْمِنًا فَهْوَ كَقَتْلِهِ؛ وَمَنْ قَذَفَ مُؤْمِنًا بِكُفْرٍ فَهْوَ كَقَتْلِهِ۔»

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever swears by a religion other than Islam (i.e. if he swears by saying that he is a non-Muslim in case he is telling a lie), then he is as he says if his oath is false and whoever commits suicide with something, will be punished with the same thing in the (Hell) fire, and cursing a believer is like murdering him, and whoever accuses a believer of disbelief, then it is as if he had killed him."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الإِسْلاَمِ كَاذِبًا فَهْوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَىْءٍ عُذِّبَ بِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَعْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ رَمَى مُؤْمِنًا بِكُفْرٍ فَهْوَ كَقَتْلِهِ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever swears by a religion other than Islam, is, as he says; and whoever commits suicide with something, will be punished with the same thing in the (Hell) Fire; and cursing a believer is like murdering him; and whoever accuses a believer of disbelief, then it is as if he had killed him."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَنْ حَلَفَ بِغَيْرِ مِلَّةِ الإِسْلاَمِ فَهْوَ كَمَا قَالَ قَالَ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَىْءٍ عُذِّبَ بِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَعْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ رَمَى مُؤْمِنًا بِكُفْرٍ فَهْوَ كَقَتْلِهِ

He who took an oath of a religion other than Islam, in the state of being a liar, would became so, as he professed. He who killed himself with a thing would be tormented on the Day of Resurrection with that very thing. One is not obliged to offer votive offering of a thing which is not in his possession.

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ بَايَعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ بِمِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الإِسْلاَمِ كَاذِبًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَىْءٍ عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَيْسَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ نَذْرٌ فِي شَىْءٍ لاَ يَمْلِكُهُ

None is obliged to give votive offering (of a thing) which is not in his possession and the cursing of a believer is tantamount to killing him, and he who killed himself with a thing in this world would be tormented with that (very thing) on the Day of Resurrection, and he who made a false claim to increase (his wealth), Allah would make no addition but that of paucity, and he who perjured would earn the wrath of God

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَيْسَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ نَذْرٌ فِيمَا لاَ يَمْلِكُ وَلَعْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَىْءٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنِ ادَّعَى دَعْوَى كَاذِبَةً لِيَتَكَثَّرَ بِهَا لَمْ يَزِدْهُ اللَّهُ إِلاَّ قِلَّةً وَمَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينِ صَبْرٍ فَاجِرَةٍ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Cursed is the believer as he kills, and whoever kills himself with something in this world will be punished with it on the Day of Judgment."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَعْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If you knew, you would mention it similarly.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ

The Prophet ﷺ said: There is no ghoul. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3913)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ يَا بُنَيَّ

Life grant is for one upon whom it is bestowed. (Using translation from Muslim 1625f)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْعُمْرَى لِمَنْ وُهِبَتْ لَهُ

[AI] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not combine my name and my kunya."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تَجْمَعُوا اسْمِي وَكُنْيَتِي

[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Cursing a believer is like killing him, and whoever kills himself with something in this world will be punished with it in the hereafter. It is not permissible for a Muslim to make a vow about something he does not possess. And whoever accuses a believer of disbelief, it is as if he has killed him. And whoever takes an oath to a religion other than Islam falsely, he is as he said.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَعْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا عُذِّبَ بِهِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَلَيْسَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ نَذْرٌ فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ وَمَنْ رَمَى مُؤْمِنًا بِكُفْرٍ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ سِوَى الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ

[AI] Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "Whoever swears falsely, intentionally, on any religion other than Islam, is as he said. And whoever kills themselves with something, Allah will punish them with it in the fire of Hell."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ سِوَى الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ أَوْ ذَبَحَ ذَبَحَهُ اللهُ بِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ

[AI] On the authority of Thabit bin Dahhak, the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever kills oneself with something, he will be punished with it. And whoever accuses a Muslim or claims disbelief, he will be as if he has killed him. And whoever curses him, he will be as if he has killed him. And whoever swears falsely on a religion other than Islam, he will be as he swore."

عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الضَّحَّاكِ رَفَعَ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ عُذِّبَ بِهِ وَمَنْ شَهِدَ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ أَوْ قَالَ مُؤْمِنٍ بِكُفْرٍ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ لَعَنَهُ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى مِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا فَهُوَ كَمَا حَلَفَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ سِوَى الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ عَذَّبَهُ اللهُ بِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The deceased from death due to a side blow is considered a martyr.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْمَيِّتُ مِنْ ذَاتِ الْجَنْبِ شَهِيدٌ

There is no Shighar in islam. (Using translation from Muslim 1415d)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا شِغَارَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ

"No Ruqyah except for the (evil) eye and the scorpion sting." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2057)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا رُقْيَةَ إِلَّا مِنْ عَيْنٍ أَوْ حُمَةٍ

There is no element of interest when the money or commodity is exchanged hand to hand. (Using translation from Muslim 1596c)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا رِبَا فِيمَا كَانَ يَدًا بِيَدٍ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the likes of it."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مِثْلَهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not trade with female singers."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تَبِيعُوا الْمُغَنِّيَاتِ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَضَى بِالْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ

[AI] The translation of the passage into English is as follows: "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: Whoever is held accountable will be punished."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ حُوسِبَ عُذِّبَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْوَزَغُ فُوَيْسِقٌ

Malik related to me from Abu'r-Rijal Muhammad ibn Abd ar-Rahman from his mother Amra bint Abd ar-Rahman that she informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not withhold the surplus water of a well from people."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ يُمْنَعُ نَقْعُ بِئْرٍ

[AI] وَأَبِي دَاوُدَ» «فَصَحُّ الْحَدِيثِ.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُؤْمِنُ مُكَفَّرٌ» «قَدِ اتَّفَقَا عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ وَ

Messenger of Allah, do not say Amin before me. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 937)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَسْبِقْنِي بِآمِينَ»

[AI] The translation of the given Arabic sentence into English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A believer is forgiven.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمُؤْمِنُ مُكَفَّرٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever steals or cheats cannot truly trust in Allah."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَمْ يَتَوَكَّلْ مَنِ اسْتَرْقَى أَوِ اكْتَوَى»

[AI] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "Water is from water."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «الْمَاءُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Musk is the best of perfumes."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمِسْكُ هُوَ أَطْيَبُ الطِّيبِ»

[AI] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said, "Disputing in the Qur'an is disbelief."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْمِرَاءُ فِي الْقُرْآنِ كُفْرٌ»

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "The believer's soul remains suspended until they have paid off their debt."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «نَفْسُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مُعَلَّقَةٌ مَا كَانَ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْوَزَغُ فُوَيْسِقٌ»

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِسُمٍّ عُذِّبَ بِهِ وَمَنْ شَهِدَ عَلَى مُسْلِمٍ أَوْ قَالَ عَلَى مُؤْمِنٍ بِكُفْرٍ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ لَعَنَهُ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى مِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا فَهُوَ كَمَا حَلَفَ»

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever swears by a religion other than Islam (i.e. if he swears by saying that he is a non-Muslim in case he is telling a lie), then he is as he says if his oath is false and whoever commits suicide with something, will be punished with the same thing in the (Hell) fire, and cursing a believer is like murdering him, and whoever accuses a believer of disbelief, then it is as if he had killed him." عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ عُذِّبَ بِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَعْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ رَمَى مُؤْمِنًا بِكُفْرٍ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ»

"Whoever swears by a religion other than Islam, telling a lie, will be as he said, and whoever kills himself with something will be punished with it in the Hereafter." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3771)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ سِوَى الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ ذَبَحَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ ذُبِحَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever intentionally kills themselves with something will be punished with it on the Day of Judgment in the fire of Hell. And whoever falsely takes an oath by a religion other than Islam with intent, will be as he said. And whoever accuses a believer of disbelief, then it is as if he has killed him. And whoever curses a believer, then it is as if he has killed him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ مُتَعَمِّدًا عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَمَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ رَمَى مُؤْمِنًا بِكُفْرٍ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ لَعَنَ مُؤْمِنًا فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Cursing a believer is like killing them, and whoever insults a believer with disbelief, it is as if he has killed them. And whoever swears by a religion other than Islam, it is as he has stated. And whoever kills himself with something, he will be punished with it on the Day of Resurrection, and there is no vow for a servant concerning what he does not possess."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَعْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ قَذَفَ مُؤْمِنًا أَوْ مُؤْمِنَةً بِكُفْرٍ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الْإِسْلَامِ فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَيْسَ لِلْعَبْدِ نَذْرٌ فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no vow in something that one does not possess, and cursing a believer is like killing him. Whoever kills himself with something in this world will be punished with it on the Day of Judgment, and whoever swears by a religion other than Islam falsely, he is as he said. And whoever says to a believer, 'O disbeliever,' it is as if he has killed him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا نَذْرَ فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ وَلَعْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ قَالَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ يَا كَافِرُ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ»

"Whoever swears by a religion other than Islam, telling a lie, will be as he said, and whoever kills himself with something, he will be punished with it in the Hereafter, and there is no vow concerning that which a man does not possess." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3813)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَيْسَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ نَذْرٌ فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ وَلَعُنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ سِوَى الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ قَذَفَ مُؤْمِنًا بِكُفْرٍ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ»

That he took oath of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ under the tree. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: If anyone swears by religion other than Islam falsely, he is like what has has said. If anyone kills himself with something, he will be punished with it on the Day of Resurrection. A vow over which a man has no control is not binding on him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3257)

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ بَايَعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَيْسَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ نَذْرٌ فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُهُ»

"Whoever swears by a religion other than Islam, telling a lie, will be as he said, and whoever kills himself with something, he will be punished with it in the Hereafter, and there is no vow concerning that which a man does not possess." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3813)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ حَلَفَ بِمِلَّةٍ غَيْرِ الْإِسْلَامِ كَاذِبًا فَهُوَ كَمَا قَالَ وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِشَيْءٍ عُذِّبَ بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَيْسَ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ نَذْرٌ فِيمَا لَا يَمْلِكُ وَلَعْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَقَتْلِهِ وَمَنْ رَمَى مُؤْمِنًا بِكُفْرٍ فَهُوَ كَقَتْلِهِ»
