[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , when a man from the Bedouins came to him wearing a worn-out cloak with patches. The man said, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , wants to elevate every person with noble lineage and dismiss every shepherd!" So the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , took hold of the edges of his cloak and said, "Indeed, this person does not possess understanding." Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Verily, when the death approached Prophet Noah, he said to his son, 'O my son, I advise you with five things: I order you to observe two and forbid you from two. I order you to declare that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah. If all seven heavens and seven earths were placed on one side of the scale, and there is 'La ilaha illallah' on the other side, the latter would outweigh them in weight. And if all seven heavens and seven earths were a mysterious ring, and it embraced them, it would be by saying 'La ilaha illallah.' And I advise you to glorify Allah (Subhan Allah) and praise Him, for it is the prayer of all creation and through it, people are provided sustenance. And I forbid you from disbelief and pride.' A man then said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we know what disbelief is, but what is pride?' He replied, 'It is to reject the truth and belittle people.'"

He replied, 'Yes,' and listed: disobedience to parents, associating partners with Allah, killing a person, committing adultery, consuming the property of orphans, running away from the battlefield, and engaging in usury."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Cleanse these bodies, and Allah will cleanse you. No servant goes to sleep in a state of purity except that an angel rests in his turban. Whenever he turns during the night, the angel says, 'O Allah, forgive your servant as he went to sleep in a state of purity.'"

Ghundar added in his narration, Shu'bah said, "Ayyub informed me on the authority of Amr ibn Dinar, on the authority of Ibn Umar, that it is a Sunnah."

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, who are the most beloved people to Allah? And what are the most beloved deeds to Allah?"
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "The most beloved people to Allah are those who are most beneficial to others, and the most beloved deeds to Allah are bringing happiness to a Muslim or removing a distress from him, settling his debt or relieving his hunger. And I would prefer to walk with my brother in fulfilling his need over staying in itkaf in this Masjid (al-Nabawi) for a month.
Whoever restrains his anger, Allah will cover his faults, and whoever suppresses his rage even though he could fulfill it, Allah will fill his heart with hope on the Day of Judgment. And whoever walks with his brother in fulfilling his need until he secures it, Allah will make his footing firm on the Day when feet will slip."

[Machine] We were sitting in the courtyard of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when a woman passed by. Some people said, "This is the daughter of Muhammad." A man then said, "The likeness of Muhammad among the Banu Hashim is like that of the rayhana (sweet basil) in the middle of the nettle plants." The woman went and informed the Prophet ﷺ, who came with anger apparent on his face. He stood among the people and said, "What are these words that reach me about certain people? Verily, Allah created the heavens and the earth in seven layers. He chose the highest of them and established Himself (on His Throne) there. He also chose the highest parts of the earth and established His creation there. He created mankind and chose from them the children of Adam. He chose the Arabs from among the children of Adam, then He chose Mudar from among the Arabs, and then He chose Quraysh from among Mudar. He chose Banu Hashim from among Quraysh, and He chose me from among Banu Hashim. So, I am the best of the best. Whoever loves the Arabs, let him love me, and whoever hates the Arabs, let him hate me."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Follow up between Hajj and Umrah, as they both eliminate sins just as a heat removes impurities from iron."
[Machine] To a man in the countenance of your land with what you were measuring from it, Ibn Umar said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade this and it is usury."

[Machine] While we were around the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, if he mentioned Fitnah or it was mentioned in his presence, he would say, "When you see people breaking their covenant and trust becoming weak, and they act in this way." He would intertwine his fingers and say, "Then rise and take care of your affairs. Control your tongue and take what you know and leave what you do not. And be concerned with your own matters and leave the matters of the public."
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "How will you be in a time or a time will come when people will be sifted and the dregs of people will remain, as if their covenants and trusts have melted away and they have disagreed and become like this." And he interlaced his fingers. They said, "What will be our condition, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "You will take what you know and leave what you reject, and you will attend to your specific matters and disregard the general affairs."
[Machine] He informed him that the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "How will it be for you when a time comes where people are sifted like sifters, and you will remain in the rubbish of people, their covenants have been violated, and they have abandoned their trusts and returned like this?" And he put his fingers together and said, "What should we do, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "You should take what you know and reject what you deny, and rely on your distinguished ones and leave your common people."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What will you do when you find yourself among the worst of people, when their covenant and trustworthiness have degenerated, and their necks are divided, and they have become like this?" He then pointed between his fingers and said, "What is the way out, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "Hold on to what you know and reject what you deny, and be concerned with your own self and beware of the general masses."
[Machine] To the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "How are you when you are among the lowest of people, and their promises and trusts have been broken and they have become like this?" Then he interlaced his fingers. I said, "How should I be, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "You should take what you know and leave what you deny, and be responsible for yourself and beware of the common people."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How are you if you remain among the refuse of the people, where their covenants are broken and their trusts are betrayed, and their hearts are divided?" And he intertwined his fingers and said, "What should I do, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Stick to what you know and leave what you deny, and be sincere to yourself and beware of the common people."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abdullah bin Amr, "How are you when you are amidst the worst of people, whose hearts have become hardened and whose trust has been broken, and their hearts are contentious?" He intertwined his fingers and said, "What should I do?" He replied, "Hold on to what you know, and leave what you disapprove of, and be separate from the common people."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How will it be for you when you are left amongst the people's dregs, where their covenants and trusts have been broken, and they have become like this?" And he intertwined his fingers. He said, "What do you command me, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Hold onto what you know and leave what you reject, and focus on yourself and leave the common people."
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever drinks wine, flog him, then if he drinks again, flog him, then if he drinks again, flog him, then if he drinks it for the fourth time, kill him.' Abdullah bin Amr used to say, 'Bring me a man who has drunk wine three times, for I will surely strike his neck.'"
The Prophet ﷺ said: The warrior gets his reward, and the one who equips him gets his own reward and that of the warrior. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2526)
