[Machine] It is said that a man from Hadhramaut named Amr ibn Abis came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a land and passed judgment against the Hadhrami with clear evidence, although there was no evidence against him. He then passed judgment against Amr ibn Qays with an oath, so the Hadhrami said, "If you have any proof against him, O Messenger of Allah, it is gone. By Allah or by the Lord of the Kaaba, I am satisfied." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever takes a false oath to unjustly appropriate his brother's wealth, he will meet Allah while in a state of anger." Amr ibn Qays said, "May I have your hope, O Messenger of Allah?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited the verse, "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price" [Quran 3:77]. Amr ibn Qays then asked, "What is the reward for the one who leaves it, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "Paradise." Amr ibn Qays said, "Then bear witness that I have left it for him in its entirety."
