"Two Eids coincided during the time of Ali. He attended the Eid prayer with them, then said: 'We are gathering, so whoever wants to attend may do so.'"  

السيوطي:٤-٢٨٣٨bعَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْن مُحَمدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قالَ:

اجْتَمَعَ عِيدَانِ عَلَى عَهْدِ عَلَىٍّ، فَشَهِدَهُمْ الْعِيدَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: إِنَّا مُجْمِعُونَ، فَمَنْ أَرَادَ أَنَ يَشْهَد فَلْيَشْهَدْ".
