"عَنْ أُمِّ رَاشِدٍ قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ طَلْحَةَ والزَّبْيرَ يَقُولُ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ بَايَعَتْهُ أَيْدِينَا وَلمْ تُبَايِعْهُ قُلُوبُنَا فَقُلْتُ لِعَلىٍ: فَقَالَ: مَنْ نَكَثَ فِإِنَّمَا يَنْكُثُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ، وَمَنْ أَوْفَى بِما عَاهَدَ عَليْه الله فَسَيُؤْتِيهِ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا".
