"يَا مَعْشَر مَنْ أَسْلَمَ بِلِسَانِهِ وَلَمْ يُفْضِ الإِيمَانُ إِلَى قَلْبهِ: لَا تُؤذُوا المُسْلِمِينَ وَلَا تُعَيِّروهُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا عَوْرَاتِهِمْ، فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ يَتَّبعْ عَوْرَات أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ يَتَّبع اللَّه عَوْرَتَهُ، وَمَنْ يَتَّبع اللَّه عَوْرَتَهُ يَفْضَحْهُ وَلَوْ فِى جَوْفِ رَحْلِهِ".
The Prophet ﷺ said: "O people who have believed by their tongue, and Īmān (faith) has not ˹yet˺ entered their hearts, do not back-bite ˹your fellow˺ Muslims, and do not look for their faults. For if anyone hunts for their faults, Allah will ˹expose˺ his fault, and if Allah ˹exposes˺ the fault of anyone, He disgraces him in his house."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «يَا مَعْشَرَ مَنْ آمَنَ بِلِسَانِهِ وَلَمْ يَدْخُلِ الإِيمَانُ قَلْبَهُ لاَ تَغْتَابُوا الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعُوا عَوْرَاتِهِمْ فَإِنَّهُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ عَوْرَاتِهِمْ يَتَّبِعِ اللَّهُ عَوْرَتَهُ وَمَنْ يَتَّبِعِ اللَّهُ عَوْرَتَهُ يَفْضَحْهُ فِي بَيْتِهِ۔»
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascended the Minbar and called out with a raised voice: ’O you who accepted Islam with his tongue, while faith has not reached his heart! Do not harm the Muslims, nor revile them, nor spy on them to expose their secrets. For indeed whoever tries to expose his Muslims brother’s secrets, Allah exposes his secrets wide open, even if he were in the depth of his house.’” He (Nafl’) said: ‘ One day Ibn ‘Umar looked at the House- or – the Ka’bah and said: ‘What is it that is more honored than you, and whose honor is more sacred than yours! And the believer’s honor is more sacred to Allah than yours.’”
صَعِدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْمِنْبَرَ فَنَادَى بِصَوْتٍ رَفِيعٍ فَقَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ مَنْ قَدْ أَسْلَمَ بِلِسَانِهِ وَلَمْ يُفْضِ الإِيمَانُ إِلَى قَلْبِهِ لاَ تُؤْذُوا الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَلاَ تُعَيِّرُوهُمْ وَلاَ تَتَّبِعُوا عَوْرَاتِهِمْ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ تَتَبَّعَ عَوْرَةَ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ تَتَبَّعَ اللَّهُ عَوْرَتَهُ وَمَنْ تَتَبَّعَ اللَّهُ عَوْرَتَهُ يَفْضَحْهُ وَلَوْ فِي جَوْفِ رَحْلِهِ قَالَ وَنَظَرَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَوْمًا إِلَى الْبَيْتِ أَوْ إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ فَقَالَ مَا أَعْظَمَكِ وَأَعْظَمَ حُرْمَتَكِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُ أَعْظَمُ حُرْمَةً عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْكِ
The Prophet ﷺ said: O community of people, who believed by their tongue, and belief did not enter their hearts, do not back-bite Muslims, and do not search for their faults, for if anyone searches for their faults, Allah will search for his fault, and if Allah searches for the fault of anyone, He disgraces him in his house. نَادَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى أَسْمَعَ الْعَوَاتِقَ فَقَالَ يَا مَعْشَرَ مَنْ آمَنَ بِلِسَانِهِ وَلَمْ يَدْخُلِ الْإِيمَانُ قَلْبَهُ لَا تَغْتَابُوا الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا عَوْرَاتِهِمْ؛ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ يَتَّبِعْ عَوْرَةَ أَخِيهِ يَتَّبِعِ اللهُ عَوْرَتَهُ حَتَّى يَفْضَحَهُ فِي بَيْتِهِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon that reached the depths of the hearts, and he said, "O people who have embraced Islam with their tongues but faith has not entered their hearts, do not harm the believers nor follow their flaws. For whoever follows the flaws of his brother, Allah will follow his flaws. And whoever Allah follows his flaws, He will expose him even if he were inside his house."
خَطَبَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ خُطْبَةً أَسْمَعَ الْعَوَاتِقَ فِي خُدُورِهِنَّ فَقَالَ «يَا مَعْشَرَ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ بِلِسَانِهِ وَلَمْ يَدْخُلِ الْإِيمَانُ قَلْبَهُ لَا تُؤْذُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا عَوْرَاتِهِمْ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ يَتَّبِعْ عَوْرَةَ أَخِيهِ يَتَّبِعِ اللهُ عَوْرَتَهُ وَمَنْ يَتَّبِعِ اللهُ عَوْرَتَهُ يَفْضَحْهُ وَلَوْ فِي جَوْفِ بَيْتِهِ»

"عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ: خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ الله ﷺ حَتَّى اسْمَعَ الْعَوَاتِقَ فِي الْخُدُرِ: يُنَادِي بِأَعْلَى صَوْتِهِ، يَا مَعْشَرَ مَنْ آمَنَ بِلِسَانِهِ وَلَمْ يَخْلُصِ الإِيمَانُ إِلَى قَلْبِهِ، لَا تَغْتَابُوا الْمُسْلِمِينَ، وَلَا تَتْبَعُوا عَوْراتِهِمْ؛ فَإِنَّ مَنْ تَبِع عَوْرَةَ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِم يَتْبَع الله عَوْرَتَهُ، وَمنْ يَتْبِع الله عَوْرَتَهُ يَفْضَحْهُ فِي جَوْفِ بَيْتِهِ".

"يَا مَعْشَرَ مَنْ آمَنَ بِلِسَانِهِ وَلَمْ يَخْلُصِ الإِيمَانُ إِلى قَلبِهِ: لَا تُؤْذُوا الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا عَوْرَاتِهِمْ؛ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ يَتَّبِعْ عَوْرَةَ أَخِيهِ يَتَّبع اللَّهُ عَوْرَتَهُ حَتَّى يَخْرِقَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ في بَطْنِ بَيْتِهِ".
