The Prophet ﷺ said: Do not fast on Saturday except what has been made obligatory on you; and if one of you can get nothing but a grape skin or a piece of wood from a tree, he should chew it.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ تَصُومُوا يَوْمَ السَّبْتِ إِلاَّ فِيمَا افْتُرِضَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلاَّ لِحَاءَ عِنَبَةٍ أَوْ عُودَ شَجَرَةٍ فَلْيَمْضُغْهُ

the Messenger of Allah said: "Do not fast on Saturday except for what has been made obligatory upon you (by Allah). If one of you does not find but a grape peal or a tree's twig, then let him chew it."

سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ بُسْرٍ الْمَازِنِيَّ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ تَرَوْنَ يَدِي هَذِهِ؟ بَايَعْتُ بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ «لَا تَصُومُوا يَوْمَ السَّبْتِ إِلَّا فِيمَا افْتُرِضَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ لَمْ يَجِدْ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَّا لِحَاءَ شَجَرَةٍ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَيْهِ»

[AI] She used to say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade fasting on Saturdays, and he said, "If any one of you cannot find anything but a green date, then let him break his fast with it."

أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ السَّبْتِ وَقَالَ «إِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَّا عُودًا أَخْضَرَ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَيْهِ»

[AI] She heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Do not fast on Saturdays, except for what is obligatory upon you. And if one of you cannot find except for a tree bark, then let him chew it."

أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا تَصُومُوا يَوْمَ السَّبْتِ إِلَّا فِيمَا افْتُرِضَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَّا لِحَى شَجَرَةٍ فَلْيَقْضِمْهُ»
