[AI] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, teach me a supplication with which I may supplicate." He said: "Say: O Allah, I have greatly wronged myself, and none forgives sins except You, so forgive me with a forgiveness from You, and have mercy on me. Indeed, You are the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful." We do not know this hadith to be narrated from Abu Bakr ᴿᴬ from the Prophet ﷺ except through this chain. Some of al-Layth's companions narrated it from al-Layth with this chain from Abdullah ibn Amr, that Abu Bakr said, "O Messenger of Allah." Some of them said, "from Abu Bakr," so we narrated it from Abu al-Walid and accepted it, since he was trustworthy, and he narrated it with a connected chain.
