from Zayd b. ʿUqbah al-Fazārī —
[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said, "Yes, I heard him say, 'The questions are like a sharp knife that a person sharpens his face with. So whoever wants to keep his face, let him not ask them, and whoever wants to leave it, except for when a man asks a person of authority or asks about a necessary matter."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ بَلَى قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَسَائِلُ كَدٌّ يَكُدُّ بِهَا الرَّجُلُ وَجْهَهُ فَمَنْ شَاءَ أَبْقَى عَلَى وَجْهِهِ وَمَنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَإِلَّا أَنْ يَسْأَلَ رَجُلٌ ذَا سُلْطَانٍ أَوْ يَسْأَلَ فِي أَمْرٍ لَا بُدَّ مِنْهُ
