“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: ‘Should I not teach you some words that if you say them, Allah will forgive you, even if you were already forgiven?’ He said: ‘Say: None has the right to be worshipped by Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent. None has the right to be worshipped by Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah. Glory to Allah, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne. (Lā ilāha illallāhul-ʿaliyul-ʿaẓīm, lā ilāha illallāhul-ḥalīmul-karīm, lā ilāha illallāh, subḥān Allāhi rabbil-ʿarshil-ʿaẓīm.)’”  

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَلاَ أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا قُلْتَهُنَّ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ مَغْفُورًا لَكَ قَالَ قُلْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ وَأَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ إِلاَّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي آخِرِهَا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ  

The Messenger of Allah ؓ said: ʿShall I not teach you some words which, if you say them you will be forgiven, even though you are already forgiven: There is no god but Allah, Most High, the Almighty; there is no god but Him, the most Forbearing the Most Generous; glory be to Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne; praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.”  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا قُلْتَهُنَّ غُفِرَ لَكَ عَلَى أَنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ؟ (لَا إِلَهَ إِلا اللهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلا هُوَ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ.)»  

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: “Shall I not teach you some words that if you say them, you will be forgiven, even though you are already forgiven. There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Most Generous; there is no god but Allah, the Most High, the Almighty, Glory be to Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and Lord of the mighty Throne, praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds.”  

قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا قُلْتَهُنَّ غُفِرَ لَكَ مَعَ أَنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ (لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ.)»

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يَا عَلِيُّ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا قُلْتَهُنَّ غُفِرَ لَكَ مَعَ أَنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Ali, shall I not teach you a supplication that you can invoke, through which, if you have sins as numerous as the grains of sand, they will be forgiven for you, even if they were as much as the foam of the sea? Say: 'There is no god but Allah, the Wise, the Noble. Blessed and glorified are You, Lord of the Great Throne.'"  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «يَا عَلِيُّ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ دُعَاءً تَدْعُو بِهِ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْكَ مِثْلُ عَدَدِ الذَّرِّ ذَنُوبًا لَغُفِرَتْ لَكَ مَعَ أَنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ؟ قُلِ اللهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ الْحَكِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ تَبَارَكْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ»  

The Messenger of Allah ؓ said: ʿShall I not teach you some words which, if you say them you will be forgiven, even though you are already forgiven: There is no god but Allah, Most High, the Almighty; there is no god but Him, the most Forbearing the Most Generous; glory be to Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne; praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 1363)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِنْ أَنْتَ قُلْتَهُنَّ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكَ عَلَى أَنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ» خَالَفَهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ صَالِحٍ وَيُوسُفُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Shall I not teach you words that, if you say them, you will be forgiven, even if it was decreed for you to be forgiven? They are: La Ilaha Illa Allah, Al-Halim, Al-Kareem, La Ilaha Illa Allah, Al-Aliyyu Al-Azheem, Subhan Allah, Rabbil Aalameen, Subhan Allah, Rabbi As-Samawati As-Sabi'i Wa Rabbil Arshil-Azheem, Alhamdulillah, Rabbil Aalameen."  

قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا قُلْتَهُنَّ غُفِرَ لَكَ مَعَ أَنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ رَبِّ السَّمَوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ»  

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Shall I not teach you a supplication that if you say it, Allah will forgive you even if you were previously forgiven?" I said, "Certainly." He said, "There is no god but Allah, the Most High, the Great. There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous. There is no god but Allah, Glory be to Allah, the Lord of the Great Throne."  

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ دُعَاءً إِذَا دَعَوْتَ بِهِ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكَ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ مَغْفُورًا لَكَ؟» قُلْتُ بَلَى قَالَ «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ»  

Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say at a time of distress, "La ilaha illal-lahu Rabbul-l-'arsh il-'azim, La ilaha illallahu Rabbu-s-samawati wa Rabbu-l-ard, Rabbu-l-'arsh-il-Karim." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6346)   

أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ دُعَاءً أُنْبِئْتُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا نَزَلَتْ بِهِ شِدَّةٌ دَعَا بِهِ؟ «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَرَبُّ الْأَرْضِ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمُ»  

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: “Shall I not teach you some words that if you say them, you will be forgiven, even though you are already forgiven. أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَا عَلِيُّ «أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا أَنْتَ قُلْتَهُنَّ غُفِرَ لَكَ مَعَ أَنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ؟» تَقُولُ «لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ رَبِّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَرَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ»  

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: “Shall I not teach you some words that if you say them, you will be forgiven, even though you are already forgiven. قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا قُلْتَهُنَّ غُفِرَ لَكَ عَلَى أَنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ؟ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ»  

"أَلا أُعلِّمُكَ كللمات إِذا قلتَهُنَّ غفر اللَّه لك وإِن كنت مغفورًا لك؟ قلْ: لا إِله إِلا اللَّه العلىُّ العظيم، لا إِله إِلا اللَّهُ الحكيمُ الكريمُ، لا إِله إِلا اللَّهُ سبحانَ اللَّهِ ربِّ السمواتِ السبع وربِّ العرشِ العظيم، الحمد للَّه ربِّ العَالَمِينَ ".  

"عَنْ عَلِىٍّ قَالَ: قَالَ: قَالَ لِى رَسُولُ الله ﷺ : أَلاَ أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا قُلتَهُنَّ غُفِرَ لَكَ؟ وَفِى لَفْظٍ: غُفِرَتْ ذُنُوبُكَ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ مِثْلَ زَبَد البَحْرِ، أوْ: مِثْلَ عَدَد الذَّرِّ مَعَ أَنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لكَ: لاَ إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله الحَلِيمُ الكَرِيمُ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلَّا العَلِىَّ العَظِيمُ، سُبْحَانَ رَبًّ السَّمَواتِ السَّبعْ وَرَبِّ العَرْشِ الكَرِيم، وَالحَمْدُ لله رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ".  

"عَنْ عَبْدِ الله بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ لِى عَلِىٌّ: أَلاَ أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا طَلَبْتَ حَاجَةً وَأَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَنْجحَ فَقُلْ: لاَ إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ العلىُّ الْعَظِيمُ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ، ثُمَّ سَلْ حَاجَتَكَ ".  

"عَنْ عَلِىٍّ قَالَ: قَالَ لِى رسُولُ الله ﷺ يَا عَلىُّ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ دُعَاءً إِذَا أَنْتَ دَعَوْتَ بِهِ غُفرَ لَكَ مَعَ أَنَّهُ مَغَفُورٌ لَكَ، قُلْتُ: بَلَى! ، قَالَ: قُلْ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله العَلِىُّ العَظِيمُ، لَا إلَهَ إِلَّا الله العَلِىُّ الكَرِيمُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله رَبُ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ ".  

"عَنْ عَلِىٍّ قَالَ: قَالَ لِى النَّبىُّ ﷺ أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ إِذَا أَنْتَ قُلْتَهُنَّ غَفَرَ الله لَكَ مَعَ أَنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ: لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ الْعَلِىُّ الْعَظيمُ، سُبْحَانَ الله رَبَّ السَّمَوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ، الْحَمْدُ لله رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ".  

"عَنْ أَبِى إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ: لَمَّا مَاتَ أَبُو طَالِبٍ جَاءَ عَلِىٌّ إِلَى النَّبىِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ عَمَّكَ الضَّالَّ قَدْ مَاتَ، قَالَ: اذهَبْ فَوَارِهِ، فَلَمَّا جِئْتُ قَالَ: ألَا أُعَلِّمُكَ دُعَاءً يَغْفِرُ الله لكَ وَإِنْ كُنْتَ مَغْفُورًا لَكَ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا نَبِىَّ الله عَلِّمْنِى، قَالَ: قُلْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله الْعَلِىُّ الْعَظِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله سُبْحَانَ الله رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ الْحَمْدُ لله رَبِّ الْعَالَمِين".  

"يَا عَلِيُّ: أَلاَ أُعَلِّمُكَ دُعاءً تَدْعو بِهِ؛ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْكَ مِثلُ عَدَدِ الذرِّ ذُنُوبًا لَغُفِرت لكَ، مَعَ أَنَّه مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ، قُل: اللَّهُمَّ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ الحَليمُ الكَريمُ تَبَارَكْتَ، سُبْحانَك ربَّ الْعَرشِ العظيمِ".  

"يَا عَلِيُّ: أَلاَ أُعَلِّمُكَ كلمَاتٍ إِذَا قُلتَهُنَّ غُفِرَ لَكَ عَلَى أنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَكَ؟ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلَّا الله العَلِىُّ العَظِيمُ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ الله الحَكِيمُ الكَرِيمُ، سُبْحَانَ الله رَبِّ السمَوَاتِ السَّبع وَرَبِّ العَرْشِ العَظِيم، وَالحَمْدُ لله رَبِّ العَالَمِينَ".
