The Prophet ﷺ said: “The deceased is tormented because of his familyʿs crying for him.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 248)  

الكبرى للنسائي:١٩٨٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَيْفٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ صَالِحٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كَيْسَانَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ قَالَ قَالَ سَالِمٌ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ قَالَ عُمَرُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يُعَذَّبُ الْمَيِّتُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ»

ʿUmar ؓ said to me: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “The deceased is tormented because of the weeping of his family over him.ʿ

ʿUmar ؓ said to me: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “The deceased is tormented because of the weeping of his family over him.ʿ (Using translation from Aḥmad 386)  

الطبراني:١٣٠٨١ – حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْقَرَنِيُّ ثنا أَبُو شِهَابٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ فِي جِنَازَةٍ وَمَعَهَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَسَمِعَ بُكَاءً فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ؓ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ»
