Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "When you want to go to bed, perform ablution as you do for prayer, then lie down on your right side and say: 'Allahumma aslamtu wajhi ilaika, wa fawwadtu 'amri ilaika wa alja'tu dhahri ilaika, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika, la malja'a wa la manja minka illa ilaika. Amantu bikitabik al-ladhi anzalta wa binabiyyika al-ladhi arsalta'. If you should die then (after reciting this) you will die on the religion of Islam (i.e., as a Muslim); so let these words be the last you say (before going to bed)" While I was memorizing it, I said, "Wa birasulika al-ladhi arsalta (in Your Apostle whom You have sent).' The Prophet ﷺ said, "No, but say: Wa binabiyyika al-ladhi arsalta (in Your Prophet whom You have sent).  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَتَيْتَ مَضْجَعَكَ فَتَوَضَّأْ وَضُوءَكَ لِلصَّلاَةِ ثُمَّ اضْطَجِعْ عَلَى شِقِّكَ الأَيْمَنِ وَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لاَ مَلْجَأَ وَلاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ فَإِنْ مُتَّ مُتَّ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ فَاجْعَلْهُنَّ آخِرَ مَا تَقُولُ فَقُلْتُ أَسْتَذْكِرُهُنَّ وَبِرَسُولِكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ قَالَ لاَ وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ  

That the Prophet ﷺ advised a man, saying, "If you intend to lie down (i.e. go to bed), say, 'Allahumma aslamtu nafsi ilaika wa fauwadtu ʿAmri ilaika, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilaika wa alja'tu zahri ilaika, reghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika. La malja'a wa la manja minka illa ilaika. Amantu bikitabikal-ladhi anzalta; wa nabiyyikalladhi arsalta.' And if you should die then (after reciting this before going to bed) you will die on the religion of Islam"  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَمَرَ رَجُلاً وَحَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَوْصَى رَجُلاً فَقَالَ إِذَا أَرَدْتَ مَضْجَعَكَ فَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لاَ مَلْجَأَ وَلاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ فَإِنْ مُتَّ مُتَّ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ  

When Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to bed, he used to sleep on his right side and then say, "All-ahumma aslamtu nafsi ilaika, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilaika, wa fauwadtu ʿAmri ilaika, wa alja'tu zahri ilaika, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika. La Malja'a wa la manja minka illa ilaika. Amantu bikitabika al-ladhi anzalta wa nabiyyika al-ladhi arsalta! Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever recites these words (before going to bed) and dies the same night, he will die on the Islamic religion (as a Muslim).  

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ نَامَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لاَ مَلْجَأَ وَلاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ قَالَهُنَّ ثُمَّ مَاتَ تَحْتَ لَيْلَتِهِ مَاتَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ {اسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ} مِنَ الرَّهْبَةِ مَلَكُوتٌ مُلْكٌ مَثَلُ رَهَبُوتٌ خَيْرٌ مِنْ رَحَمُوتٍ تَقُولُ تَرْهَبُ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ تَرْحَمَ  

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O so-and-so, whenever you go to your bed (for sleeping) say, 'O Allah! I have surrendered myself over to you and have turned my face towards You, and leave all my affairs to You and depend on You and put my trust in You expecting Your reward and fearing Your punishment. There is neither fleeing from You nor refuge but with You. I believe in the Book (Qur'an) which You have revealed and in Your Prophet (Muhammad) whom You have sent.' If you then die on that night, then you will die as a Muslim, and if you wake alive in the morning then you will receive the reward." (See Hadith No. 323, Vol. 8)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا فُلاَنُ إِذَا أَوَيْتَ إِلَى فِرَاشِكَ فَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لاَ مَلْجَأَ وَلاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ مُتَّ فِي لَيْلَتِكَ مُتَّ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ وَإِنْ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصَبْتَ أَجْرًا  

When you go to bed, perform ablution as is done for prayer; then lie down pn the right side and recite:" O Allah, I turn my face towards Thee and entrust my affair to Thee. I retreat unto Thee for protection with hope in Thee and fear of Thee. There is no resort and no deliverer (from hardship) but Thou only. I affirm my faith in Thine books which Thou revealed and in Thine Apostles whom Thou sent." Make this as the last word of yours (when you go to sleep) and in case you die during that night, you would die upon Fitra (upon Islam). And as I repeated these words in order to commit them to memory, I said:" I affirm my faith in Thy Messenger (Rasul) whom Thou sent." He said: Say:" I affirm my faith in the Apostle (Nabi) whom Thou sent."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا أَخَذْتَ مَضْجَعَكَ فَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَكَ لِلصَّلاَةِ ثُمَّ اضْطَجِعْ عَلَى شِقِّكَ الأَيْمَنِ ثُمَّ قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لاَ مَلْجَأَ وَلاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ وَاجْعَلْهُنَّ مِنْ آخِرِ كَلاَمِكَ فَإِنْ مُتَّ مِنْ لَيْلَتِكَ مُتَّ وَأَنْتَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ قَالَ فَرَدَّدْتُهُنَّ لأَسْتَذْكِرَهُنَّ فَقُلْتُ آمَنْتُ بِرَسُولِكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ قَالَ قُلْ آمَنْتُ بِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ  

When you go to bed during night, you should say:" O Allah, I surrender myself to Thee and entrust my affair to Thee, with hope in Thee and fear of Thee. There is no resort and no deliverer (from hardship but Thou). I affirm my faith in the Book which Thou revealed and in the Messengers whom Thou sent." If you die in this state you would die on Fitra, and Ibn Bashshdr did not make a mention of" night" in this hadith.  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ رَجُلاً إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ أَنْ يَقُولَ اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لاَ مَلْجَأَ وَلاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَبِرَسُولِكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ فَإِنْ مَاتَ مَاتَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرِ ابْنُ بَشَّارٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ  

The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) said to me: When you go to your bed, perform ablution like the ablution for prayer, and then lie on your right side and say: O Allah I have handed over my face to thee, entrusted my affairs to thee, and committed my back to thee out of desire for and fear to thee. There is no refuge and no place of safety from thee except by having recource to thee. I believe in Thy Book which Thou hast sent down and in Thy prophet whom thou hast sent down. He said : If you die (that night), you would die in the true religion, and utter these words in the last of that you utter (other prayers). Al-Bara said : I said: I memorise them, and then I repeated, saying “and in Thy Apostle whom Thou hast sent”. He said : No, say : “and in Thy Prophet whom Thou hast sent.  

لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَتَيْتَ مَضْجَعَكَ فَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَكَ لِلصَّلاَةِ ثُمَّ اضْطَجِعْ عَلَى شِقِّكَ الأَيْمَنِ وَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَهْبَةً وَرَغْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لاَ مَلْجَأَ وَلاَ مَنْجَى مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ قَالَ فَإِنْ مِتَّ مِتَّ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ وَاجْعَلْهُنَّ آخِرَ مَا تَقُولُ قَالَ الْبَرَاءُ فَقُلْتُ أَسْتَذْكِرُهُنَّ فَقُلْتُ وَبِرَسُولِكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ قَالَ لاَ وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ  

The Prophet ﷺ said to him: “Should I not teach you some words to say when you go to your bed, so if you died, you will die upon the Fitrah, and if you reach the morning, you will reach it in good? You say: ‘O Allah, verily, I submit myself to You, and I turn my face to You, and I entrust my affair to You, hoping in You and fearing in You. And I lay myself down depending upon You, there is no refuge [nor escape] from You except to You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed, and in Your Prophet whom You have sent (Allāhumma innī aslamtu nafsī ilaika wa wajjahtu wajhī ilaika, wa fawwaḍtu amrī ilaika, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika wa alja'tu ẓahrī ilaika, lā malja'a [wa lā manjā] minka illā ilaik. Āmantu bikitābikal-ladhī anzalta wa binabiyyikal-ladhī arsalt).’” Al-Bara' said: “So I said: ‘And in Your Messenger whom you have sent.’” He said: “So he ﷺ struck his hand upon my chest, then said: “And in Your Prophet whom You have sent. (Wa binabiyyikal-ladhī arsalt).”  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ أَلاَ أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ تَقُولُهَا إِذَا أَوَيْتَ إِلَى فِرَاشِكَ فَإِنْ مُتَّ مِنْ لَيْلَتِكَ مُتَّ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ وَإِنْ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصْبَحْتَ وَقَدْ أَصَبْتَ خَيْرًا تَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ لاَ مَلْجَأَ وَلاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ قَالَ الْبَرَاءُ فَقُلْتُ وَبِرَسُولِكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ قَالَ فَطَعَنَ بِيَدِهِ فِي صَدْرِي ثُمَّ قَالَ وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ  

The Prophet said: “When one of you lies down on his right side, then says: ‘O Allah, I have submitted myself to You, and I have turned my face to You, and I lay myself down relying upon You, and I have entrusted my affair to You, there is no refuge [nor escape] from You except to You. I believe in Your Book and Your Messengers (Allāhumma innī aslamtu nafsī ilaika wa wajjahtu wajhī ilaika, wa alja’tu ẓahrī ilaika, wa fawwaḍtu amrī ilaika, lā malja'a [wa lā manjā] minka illā ilaik, ūminu bikitābika wa birusulika)’ – then if he dies that night, he shall enter Paradise.”  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا اضْطَجَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى جَنْبِهِ الأَيْمَنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ لاَ مَلْجَأَ وَلاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ أُومِنُ بِكِتَابِكَ وَبِرُسُلِكَ فَإِنْ مَاتَ مِنْ لَيْلَتِهِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ  

the Prophet (saas) said to a man: "When you go to lay down, or go to your bed, say: Allahumma aslamtu wajhi ilayka, wa al-ja'tu zahri ilayka, wa fawwadtu amri ilayka, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilayka, la malja'a wa la manja'a minka illa ilayka, amantu bi kitabikal-ladhi anzalta, wa nabiyyikal arsalta [O Allah, I have submitted my face (i.e., myself) to You, and I am under Your command (i.e., I depend upon You in all my affairs), and I put my trust in You, hoping for Your reward and fearing Your punishment. There is no fleeing from You and no refuge from You except with You. I believe in Your Book that You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent).' Then if you die that night, you will die in a state of the Fitrah (nature), and if you wake in the morning you will wake with a great deal of good."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ إِذَا أَخَذْتَ مَضْجَعَكَ أَوْ أَوَيْتَ إِلَى فِرَاشِكَ فَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لاَ مَلْجَأَ وَلاَ مَنْجَى مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ فَإِنْ مِتَّ مِنْ لَيْلَتِكَ مِتَّ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ وَإِنْ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصْبَحْتَ وَقَدْ أَصَبْتَ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَنْ يَقُولَ إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ اللهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لَا مَلْجَأَ وَلَا مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلَّا إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ فَإِنْ مَاتَ مَاتَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ

سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَمَرَ رَجُلًا إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ وَقَالَ ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ أَوْصَى رَجُلًا أَنْ يَقُولَ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لَا مَلْجَأَ وَلَا مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلَّا إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ فَإِنْ مَاتَ مَاتَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ»  

That the Prophet ﷺ advised a man, saying, "If you intend to lie down (i.e. go to bed), say, 'Allahumma aslamtu nafsi ilaika wa fauwadtu ʿAmri ilaika, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilaika wa alja'tu zahri ilaika, reghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika. La malja'a wa la manja minka illa ilaika. Amantu bikitabikal-ladhi anzalta; wa nabiyyikalladhi arsalta.' And if you should die then (after reciting this before going to bed) you will die on the religion of Islam" (Using translation from Bukhārī 6313)   

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُوصِي رَجُلًا إِذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ «اللهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ لَا مَنْجَى وَلَا مَلْجَأَ مِنْكَ إِلَّا إِلَيْكَ آمَنْتُ بِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ وَبِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ فَإِنْ مَاتَ مَاتَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ»  

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O so-and-so, whenever you go to your bed (for sleeping) say, 'O Allah! I have surrendered myself over to you and have turned my face towards You, and leave all my affairs to You and depend on You and put my trust in You expecting Your reward and fearing Your punishment. There is neither fleeing from You nor refuge but with You. I believe in the Book (Qur'an) which You have revealed and in Your Prophet (Muhammad) whom You have sent.' If you then die on that night, then you will die as a Muslim, and if you wake alive in the morning then you will receive the reward." The Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) said to me: When you go to your bed, perform ablution like the ablution for prayer, and then lie on your right side and say: O Allah I have handed over my face to thee, entrusted my affairs to thee, and committed my back to thee out of desire for and fear to thee. There is no refuge and no place of safety from thee except by having recource to thee. I believe in Thy Book which Thou hast sent down and in Thy prophet whom thou hast sent down. He said : If you die (that night), you would die in the true religion, and utter these words in the last of that you utter (other prayers). Al-Bara said : I said: I memorise them, and then I repeated, saying “and in Thy Apostle whom Thou hast sent”. He said : No, say : “and in Thy Prophet whom Thou hast sent. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5046)

"أَلا أُعلمُكَ كلمات تقولها إِذا أَويتَ إِلى فراشِكَ فإِن متَّ من ليلتِكَ متَّ على الفطرة وإِن أَصبحت أَصبحت وقد أَصبت خيرًا؟ تقول: اللهمَّ أسلمتُ نفْسِى إِليك، ووجهتُ وجهى إِليك، وفوَّضت أمرى إِليك، رغبةً ورهبةً إِليكَ، وأَلجأت ظهرى إليك، لا ملجأ ولا منجَى منك إِلَّا إِليكَ آمنتُ بكتابك الَّذى أنزلت ونبيك الذى أرسلت".  

"مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَنَامَ عَلَى الْفِطرةِ الَّتِي فَطَرَ الله النَّاسَ عَلَيهَا، فَليَقُلْ إِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِراشِهِ: اللَّهُمَّ ربِّي ومليكي وإِلهي، لَا إِله إِلا أَنْتَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْلَمْتُ نَفسِي إِلَيكَ، ووجَّهْتُ وجْهي إِلَيكَ، وفَوَّضْت أَمْرِي إِلَيكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيكَ، لا مَلْجَأَ ولا مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلا إِلَيكَ، آمنْتُ بِكِتَابكَ الَّذِي أَنْزلْتَ، وبِنَبيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ".

"إذا أخذت مضجعك فتوضأ وضوءَك للصلاةِ، ثم اضطجع على شقِّك الأيمنِ، ثم قل: اللهم أسلمت وجهي إليك، وفوَّضْتُ أمرى إليكَ، وألجأَت ظهرى إليكَ، رغبة ورهبةً إليك، لا ملجأ ولا منجى منك إِلا إِليك، آمنتُ بِكتابك الذي أنزلتَ، وبنبيك الذي أرسلت، واجعله آخرَ ما تقولُ، فإن متَّ في ليلَتِك متَّ على الفِطْرَةِ".  

"إذا أخذت مضجَعك من الليل فقل: اللهم أسلمت نفسى إليك، ووجهت وجهى إليكَ، وفوَّضتُ أمرى إليك، وألجأت ظهرى إليك، آمنتُ بكتابك المنزل، ونبيِّك المُرْسَل، اللهمَّ أسلمتُ نفسى إليك، أنت خلقْتها، لك محياها، ولك ممَاتها، إن كفتَّها فارحهما، وإن أخّرتها فاحفظها بحفظ الإيمان".  

The Prophet said: “When one of you lies down on his right side, then says: ‘O Allah, I have submitted myself to You, and I have turned my face to You, and I lay myself down relying upon You, and I have entrusted my affair to You, there is no refuge [nor escape] from You except to You. I believe in Your Book and Your Messengers (Allāhumma innī aslamtu nafsī ilaika wa wajjahtu wajhī ilaika, wa alja’tu ẓahrī ilaika, wa fawwaḍtu amrī ilaika, lā malja'a [wa lā manjā] minka illā ilaik, ūminu bikitābika wa birusulika)’ – then if he dies that night, he shall enter Paradise.” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3395)   

"إِذَا اضْطَّجَعَ أحدُكم على جنْبهِ الأيمنِ، ثمَّ قال: اللَّهُمَّ إني أسلمتُ نفسِى إليكَ ووجّهتُ وجْهى إليكَ، وألجأتُ ظهْرِى إليكَ وفوَّضتُ أمْرى إليك، لا ملجأ مِنْك إلا إليكَ أوْمِنُ بكتابِكَ وبرسولِكَ، فإنْ مات منْ ليلتِه دخل الجنةَ".  

"عَنْ البَرَاءِ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إذَا أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ إِلَيْكَ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجَهي، وَإلَيْكَ فَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي، وَإلَيْكَ أَلْجَأتُ ظَهْرِي، رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ، لَا مَلْجَأَ وَلَا مَنْجَي مِنْكَ إِلَّا إِلَيْكَ، آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ وَنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ".  

"عَنِ الْبَرَاء قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ يَقُولُ: قُولُوا هؤُلاَءِ الكَلمَاتِ عِنْدَ الْمَضْجَع وَيُعَلِّمُنَاهُنَّ: اللَّهُمَّ وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِى إِلَيْكَ، وَأسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِى إِلَيْكَ، وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِى إِلَيْكَ، وَأَلْجَأتُ ظَهْرِى إِلَيْكَ، رَهْبَةً وَرَغْبَةً إِلَيْكَ، آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِى أَنْزَلْتَ وَنَبِيِّكَ الْمُرْسَل".  

"عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ قَالَ: إِذَا أَتَيْتَ مَضْجَعَكَ فَتَوَضَّأ وُضُوءَكَ للصَّلاَةِ، ثُمَّ اضْطَجِع عَلَى شِقِّكَ الأيْمَن، ثُمَّ قُلْ: اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهى إِلَيْكَ، وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِى إِلَيْكَ، وَأَلْجَأَتُ ظَهْرِى إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ، لاَ مَلْجَأ وَلاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ، اللَّهُمَّ آمَنْتُ بكِتَابِكَ الَّذى أَنْزَلْتَ، وَنبِيِّكَ الَّذِى أَرْسَلْتَ، فَاجْعَلهُنَّ منْ آخِرِ كَلاَمِكَ فإنَّك إِنْ متَّ متَّ وأَنْتَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ، قَالَ: فَرَدَّتُهُنَّ لأَسْتَذْكِرَهُن فَقُلتُ: آمَنْتُ بِرَسُولِكَ الَّذِى أَرْسَلْتَ، فَقَالَ: قُلْ: آَمَنْتُ بِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذى أَرْسَلتَ".  

"عَنِ الْبَراءِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِىّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لِرَجُل: يَا فُلاَنُ! إِذَا أَخَذْتَ مَضْجَعَكَ فَقُل: اللَّهمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِى إِلَيْكَ، وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِىَ إِلَيْكَ، وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِى إِلَيْكَ، وأَلْجَأتُ ظَهْرِى إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ، آمَنْتُ بِكتَابكَ الَّذِى أَنْزَلْتَ، ونَبِيِّكَ الَّذِى أَرْسَلتَ، فَإِنْ حَدَثَ بِكَ حَدَثٌ فَمِتَّ، مِتَّ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ، وِإنْ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصْبَحْتَ أَصبْتَ خَيْرًا".  

"عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ قَالَ: قالَ رَسُول الله ﷺ : سَبْع كَلمَاتٍ مَنْ قَالَهُنَّ حينَ يَأخُذُ مَضْجَعَهُ بَعدَ صَلاَةِ العِشَاءِ فَمَاتَ مِنْ لَيْلَته تِلْكَ أَدْخَلَهُ الله الْجَنَّةَ، يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّى أَسْلَمْتُ دِينِى إلَيْكَ، وَخَلَّيْتُ وَجْهِى إِلَيْكَ، وَفَوَّضْتُ أمْرِى إِلَيْكَ، وَألْجَأتُ ظَهْرِى إِلَيْكَ، لاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ، آمَنْتُ بِرَسُولِكِ الَّذِى أَرْسَلْتَ، وَكِتَابِكَ الَّذِى أَنْزَلْتَ".  

"عَنِ الْبَرَاء أَنَّ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ قَالَ: إِذَا أَخَذْتَ مَضْجَعَكَ فَقُلْ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّى أسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِى إِلَيْكَ، وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِى إِلَيْكَ، وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِى إِلَيْكَ، وَأَلْجَأتُ ظَهْرِى إِلَيْكَ، رَهْبَةً وَرَغْبَةً إِلَيْكَ، لاَ مَنْجَا وَلاَ مَلْجَأَ مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ، آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِى أَنْزَلْتَ، وَنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِى أَرْسَلْتَ، فَإِنْ مِتَّ مِنْ لَيْلَتِكَ مِتَّ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ، وَإِنْ أصْبحْتَ أصْبَحْتَ وَقَدْ أَصَبْتَ خَيْرًا".  

"كَانَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ يَدْعُو يَقُولُ: الَّلهُمَّ مَتَعْنِى بسَمْعِى وبَصَرِى حَتَّى تَجْعَلَهُمَا الْوارِثَ مِنِّى، وَعَافِنِى في دينِى عَلَى مَا أَحْيَيْتَنِى، وَانْصُرْنِى عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَنِى حَتَّى تُرِيَنِى مِنْهُ ثَأرِى، الَّلهُمَّ إِنِّى أَسْلَمْتُ دِينِى إِلَيْكَ، وَخَلَّيْتُ وَجْهِى إِلَيْكَ، وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِى إِلَيْكَ، وَأَلْجَأتُ ظَهْرِى إِلَيْكَ، لاَ مَلْجأ وَلاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إلا إِلَيْكَ، آمَنْتُ بِرَسُولِكَ الَّذِى أَرْسَلتَ، وَبِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِى أَنْزَلْتَ".
