Kathir b. 'Abbas narrated on the authority of Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed four rak'ahs and four prostrations in two rak'ahs.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَهَرَ فِي صَلاَةِ الْخُسُوفِ بِقِرَاءَتِهِ فَصَلَّى أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ وَأَخْبَرَنِي كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ صَلَّى أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ
