I heard (and I think he carried it directly to the Messenger of Allah) him saying: For the people of Medina Dhu'l-Hulaifa is the place for entering upon the state of Ihram, and for (the people coming through the other way, i.e. Syria) it is Juhfa; for the people of Iraq it is Dhat al-'Irq; for the people of Najd it is Qarn (al-Manazil) and for the people of Yemen it is Yalamlam.  

مسلم:١١٨٣b – وَحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ قَالَ عَبْدٌ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ؓ يُسْأَلُ عَنِ الْمُهَلِّ فَقَالَ

Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) said: It was mentioned to me but I did not myself bear it (directly) from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ having said this: The people of Yemen should enter upon the state of Ihram at Yalamlam.

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us and said: ‘The Talbiyah of the people of Al-Madinah begins at Dhul-Hulaifah. The Talbiyah of the people of Sham begins at Juhfah. The Talbiyah of the people of Yemen begins at Yalamlam. The Talbiyah of the people of Najd begins at Qarn. The Talbiyah of the people of the east begins at Dhat ‘Irq.’ Then he turned to face the (eastern) horizon and said: ‘O Allah, make their hearts steadfast.’”

[Machine] A man asked the Prophet ﷺ from where should he enter the state of ihram (pilgrim's sacred state)? He replied, "The people of Al-Madinah should enter ihram from Dhul-Hulayfah, the people of Ash-Sham (Greater Syria) should enter ihram from Al-Juhfah, the people of Yemen should enter ihram from Yalamlam, and the people of Najd should enter ihram from Qarn." Ibn 'Umar also stated that people with a lineage to Qarn should enter ihram from there.  

أحمد:٤٤٥٥ – حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَعُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَابْنُ عَوْنٍ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مِنْ أَيْنَ يُحْرِمُ ؟ قَالَ مُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ وَمُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ مِنَ الْجُحْفَةِ وَمُهَلُّ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ وَمُهَلُّ أَهْلِ نَجْدٍ مِنْ قَرْنٍ وقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَقَاسَ النَّاسُ ذَاتَ عِرْقٍ بِقَرْنٍ

Wait, O people of Iraq, from the region of 'Irq. Wait, O people of Najd, from Qarn. Wait, O people of Yemen, from Yalamlamah."
