This very hadith has been narrated on the authority of Sbu'ba with the same chain of transmitters.  

مسلم:١٠٦٩c – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ شُعْبَةَ فِي هَذَا الإِسْنَادِ كَمَا قَالَ

ابْنُ مُعَاذٍ أَنَّا لاَ نَأْكُلُ الصَّدَقَةَ
