ذِكْرُ وَصْفِ الْوِتْرِ الَّذِي إِذَا أَرَادَ الْمَرْءُ أَوْتَرَ بِهِ

ibnhibban:2422 – al-Ḥasan b. Sufyān > Naṣr b. ʿAlī al-Jahḍamī > ʿAbdullāh b. Dāwud > Ibn Abū Dhiʾb > al-Zuhrī > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

It was narrated from ‘Ali ؓ that The Prophet ﷺ used to pray Witr with three raka’hs (Using translation from Aḥmad 685)   

ابن حبّان:٢٤٢٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِوَاحِدَةٍ»

It was narrated from ‘Ali ؓ that The Prophet ﷺ used to pray Witr with three raka’hs  

أحمد:٦٨٥ – حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِثَلاثٍ  

ahmad:2740 – Sulaymān b. Dāwud > Abū Bakr al-Nahshalī > Ḥabīb b. Abū Thābit > Yaḥyá b. al-Jazzār > Ibn ʿAbbās

It was narrated from ‘Ali ؓ that The Prophet ﷺ used to pray Witr with three raka’hs (Using translation from Aḥmad 685)  

أحمد:٢٧٤٠ – حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّهْشَلِيُّ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْجَزَّارِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِثَلاثٍ  

ahmad:15366 – Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd > Shuʿbah > Qatādah > Zurārah > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abzá

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to perform the voluntary night prayer (Tahajjud) with the Tasbih (glorification) of the name of your Highest Lord.  

أحمد:١٥٣٦٦ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى  

ahmad:21099 – ʿAbdullāh > Ḥajjāj b. Yūsuf > Shabābah > Shuʿbah > al-Aʿmash > Abū Sufyān > Jābir > Ubay b. Kaʿb

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ covered it.  

أحمد:٢١٠٩٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ حَدَّثَنِي حَجَّاجُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَوَاهُ  

darimi:1638 – Abū al-Walīd > Shuʿbah > ʿAmr b. Murrah > Ibn Abū Laylá > al-Barāʾ b. ʿĀzib

[Machine] "That the prophet ﷺ used to worship fervently in the morning."  

الدارمي:١٦٣٨ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْنُتُ فِي الصُّبْحِ»  

ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ الْوِتْرَ بِالرَّكْعَةِ الْوَاحِدَةِ غَيْرُ جَائِزٍ

It was narrated from ‘Ali ؓ that The Prophet ﷺ used to pray Witr with three raka’hs (Using translation from Aḥmad 685)

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِوَاحِدَةٍ»  

tabarani:15688 – ʿUbayd b. Ghannām > Abū Bakr b. Abū Shaybah > Shabābah b. Sawwār > Shuʿbah > Qatādah > Zurārah b. Awfá > ʿImrān b. Ḥuṣayn

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to perform the voluntary prayer of Witr by reciting "Subhan Rabbi al-A'la", which means "Glory be to your Lord, the Most High."  

الطبراني:١٥٦٨٨ – حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا شَبَابَةُ بْنُ سَوَّارٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى»
