The Prophet ﷺ used to recite in witr and he quoted the same hadith.  

النسائي:١٧٥٥ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي عَامِرٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَزْرَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ

ذِكْرُ وَصْفِ الْوِتْرِ الَّذِي إِذَا أَرَادَ الْمَرْءُ أَوْتَرَ بِهِ

It was narrated from ‘Ali ؓ that The Prophet ﷺ used to pray Witr with three raka’hs (Using translation from Aḥmad 685)   

ابن حبّان:٢٤٢٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِوَاحِدَةٍ»  

ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ الْوِتْرَ بِالرَّكْعَةِ الْوَاحِدَةِ غَيْرُ جَائِزٍ
