15. Book of Virtues of the Quran (2/3)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "Whoever takes the first seven verses of the Quran, they are the best."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Learn the Quran, for it will intercede for its people on the Day of Resurrection. And recite the two bright Surahs (Al-Baqarah and Al-Imran), for they will come on the Day of Resurrection like two clouds or like two shades, or like two flocks of birds in ranks, pleading for their companions. Learn Al-Baqarah, for learning it is a blessing and abandoning it is a regret, and the sorceresses cannot memorize it."
15.10 [Machine] Mentioning the virtues of surahs and various verses
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf as it was revealed, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection from his place to Mecca. And whoever recites the last ten verses of it and then the Antichrist appears, he will not be harmed by him. And whoever performs ablution and then says: 'Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. There is no god except You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You,' it will be written on a parchment, then sealed with a seal and it will not be broken until the Day of Resurrection."
[Machine] Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahf and recites it in a similar manner.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Recite Surah Yasin at the time of your death." Yahya ibn Sa'id and others narrated this from Sulaiman al-Taymi. "And the saying concerning it is the saying of Ibn al-Mubarak when he said, 'The additional narration from a trustworthy individual is accepted.'"
The Prophet ﷺ said: A surah of the Qur'an containing thirty verses will intercede its reader till he will be forgiven. That is: "Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the sovereignty" (Surah 67). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1400)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I wish that it [the Quran] was in the heart of every believer." Meaning, blessed is the One in whose hand is the dominion. This is a sahih (authentic) chain of narration according to the Yemeni scholars and they did not exclude it.
[Machine] "From his father, the Prophet ﷺ gave his daughter Umm Salama to him and said, 'You are my son-in-law.' He then approached him and said, 'What did you do with Juwayriyah or the slave girl?' I said, 'She was with her mother.' He said, 'So, what you have come for?' I said, 'I came so that you can teach me something to say in my dreams.' He said, 'Recite: Say, O disbelievers, for it is a disassociation from polytheism.'"
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Idha Zulzilat is equal to half of the Qur'an, Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad is equal to a third of the Qur'an, and Yul Ya Ayyuhal-Kafirun is equal to a fourth of the Qur'an." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2894)
[Machine] He heard Abu Hurairah say, "I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and I heard a man reciting, 'Say, He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent,' [Quran 112]. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'It (Paradise) is obligatory.' So I asked him, 'What, O Messenger of Allah?' He said, 'Paradise.' Abu Hurairah said, 'I wanted to go to the man and give him the glad tidings, then I opted not to miss lunch with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so I preferred the lunch, then I went to the man and found that he had left.'"
[Machine] "Indeed, the yellow house is a house in which there is nothing from the Book of Allah. So recite the Quran, for indeed you will be rewarded for every letter with ten good deeds. As for me, I do not say 'Alif, Lam, Mim,' but rather I say 'Alif, Lam, Mim.' It was recorded by someone other than Ad-Dashtaki. Abu Sa'id Ahmad ibn Ya'qub Ath-Thaqafi narrated to us, Abd Allah ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn Abd Allah Ad-Dashtaki narrated to us, my father narrated to us, Amr ibn Abi Qays narrated to us, from Asim, from Abu Al-Ahwas, from Abdullah, from the Prophet ﷺ in a similar manner."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Can any of you recite a thousand verses every day?" They asked, "Who among us can do that?" He replied, "Can any of you recite Surah Al-Haqqah?" All the narrators of this hadith are reliable and the authenticity of this statement is not known.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "None of you should sleep until he recites one-third of the Quran." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, how can any of us recite one-third of the Quran?" He said, "Can anyone of you not recite Say: He is Allah, the One, and Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, and Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind?"
He asked the Prophet ﷺ about Al-Mua'awwidhatain. Uqbah said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in praying Fajr and recited them." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 952)
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sent Mu'adh and Abu Musa to Yemen and instructed them to teach the people the Quran.
If anyone recites the Qur'an and acts according to its content, on the Day of Judgement his parents will be given to wear a crown whose light is better than the light of the sun in the dwellings of this world if it were among you. So what do you think of him who acts according to this ? (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1453)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever reads the Quran, learns it, and acts upon it, will be adorned on the Day of Resurrection with a crown of light, the brightness of which is like the brightness of the sun. His parents will be dressed in two garments that the worldly life cannot provide, and they will say, 'By what were we dressed?' It will be said, 'By the recitation of your child of the Quran.'"
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Act according to the Quran, make its halal (lawful) lawful for yourself and its haram (forbidden) forbidden for yourself, follow it, and do not disbelieve in anything from it. If there is something ambiguous to you in it, refer it back to Allah and to those in authority after me, so that they may clarify it for you. Believe in the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, and what the prophets received from their Lord. The Quran and its explanations are sufficient for you, as it is an intercessor and an intermediary. Every verse of it is a light on the Day of Judgment. Indeed, I have been given Surah Al-Baqarah from the initial revelation and I have been given Taha and Al-Hawamim from the Tablets of Moses, and I have been given the Opening of the Book from beneath the Throne."
[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, which actions are the best?" He replied, "The one who goes on a journey." He asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is a journey?" He said, "Reciting the Quran from the beginning to the end and from the end to the beginning."
[Machine] "O Messenger of Allah, which actions are the best?" He said, "The state of a constant traveler." He said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the state of a constant traveler?" He said, "The one who is constantly engaging with the Quran, reciting from the beginning until the end and from the end until the beginning. Every time he finishes, he starts again." "Salih Al-Murriyyu, a righteous person from the ascetics of Basra, excelled in this, except that the two Sheikhs (Abu Bakr and Umar) did not narrate from him." And he has a witness from the narration of Abu Huraira.
[Machine] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, which action is better? Or which action is more beloved to Allah?" He replied, "The one who is constantly on the move, opening the Quran and completing it; the companion of the Quran. He starts from the beginning and finishes at the end, and from the end to the beginning. Whenever he finishes, he starts again."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "He is not one of us who does not find comfort in the Quran." Sufyan said, "He means to be self-sufficient with it." "And according to Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah, there is another chain of narration regarding this."
(The narrator Qutaibah said: This tradition has been narrated by Sa'id b. Abu Sa'id in my collection): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who does not chant the Qur'an is not one of us. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1469)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He who does not recite the Quran is not of us." "The narration of Layth does not prevent the narration of Abdullah ibn Abi Nahik, for they are two followers and the evidence of the authenticity of both narrations is the narration of Amr ibn al-Harith, who is one of the reliable memorizers, narrating from Ibn Abi Muleika."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, saying, "He who does not recite the Qur'an is not of us." This narration indicates that Ibn Abi Mulaykah did not hear it from a single narrator, but rather he heard it from narrators of Saad. However, Ubaydullah ibn al-Akhnas and Is'il ibn Sufyan did not pass it on from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, but rather they brought it with two weak chains of narrators.
15.11 [Machine] As for the story of Ubaidullah ibn Al-Akhnas
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is not one of us who does not sing with the Quran." And it was narrated by Al-Harith ibn Murrah Al-Thaqafi Al-Basri from 'Asl ibn Sufyan from Ibn Abi Mulaykah from Aisha from the Prophet ﷺ . And Al-Harith narrated it with this chain of narration from Ibn Abbas.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He is not one of us who does not recite the Quran beautifully." This hadith does not exclude 'Asl bin Sufyan Al Wahm. The narration is attributed to the hadith of Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas, and Allah knows best.
