[Machine] We went to 'Umar in polytheism, but he did not associate partners (with Allah). Then we went to him the following year, and he associated partners (with Allah). So we said to him, and he said, "That is according to what we have decreed, and this is according to what we have decreed."  

الدارمي:٦٧١أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

أَتَيْنَا عُمَرَ فِي الْمُشَرَّكَةِ فَلَمْ يُشَرِّكْ ثُمَّ أَتَيْنَاهُ الْعَامَ الْمُقْبِلَ فَشَرَّكَ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ فَقَالَ «تِلْكَ عَلَى مَا قَضَيْنَاهُ وَهَذِهِ عَلَى مَا قَضَيْنَا»
