When we wrote the Holy Qur'an, I missed one of the Verses of Surat-al-Ahzab which I used to hear Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting. Then we searched for it and found it with Khuzaʿima bin Thabit Al-Ansari. The Verse was:-- 'Among the Believers are men Who have been true to Their Covenant with Allah, Of them, some have fulfilled Their obligations to Allah (i.e. they have been Killed in Allah's Cause), And some of them are (still) waiting" (33.23) So we wrote this in its place in the Qur'an.  

البخاري:٤٠٤٩ – حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي خَارِجَةُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ ؓ يَقُولُ فَقَدْتُ آيَةً مِنَ الأَحْزَابِ حِينَ نَسَخْنَا الْمُصْحَفَ كُنْتُ

أَسْمَعُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ بِهَا فَالْتَمَسْنَاهَا فَوَجَدْنَاهَا مَعَ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ {مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ } فَأَلْحَقْنَاهَا فِي سُورَتِهَا فِي الْمُصْحَفِ

quran:33:23 –

Among the believers are men true to what they promised Allah. Among them is he who has fulfilled his vow ˹to the death˺, and among them is he who awaits ˹his chance˺. And they did not alter ˹the terms of their commitment˺ by any alteration -  

Among the believers are men who are true to the covenant they made with God, in steadfastly remaining alongside the Prophet (s). Some of them have fulfilled their vow, having died or been killed ˹fighting˺ for God’s cause, and some are still awaiting, for this ˹fate˺, and they have not changed, ˹their commitment to˺ the covenant, in the least, and they stand in contrast to the situation with the hypocrites;
القرآن:٣٣:٢٣ –

مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ ۖ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ ۖ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا  

{من المؤمنين رجال صدقوا ما عاهدوا الله عليه} من الثبات مع النبي ﷺ {فمنهم من قضى نحبه} مات أو قتل في سبيل الله {ومنهم من ينتظر} ذلك {وما بدَّلوا تبديلا} في العهد، وهم بخلاف حال المنافقين.

'Among the Believers are men who have been true in their covenant with Allah.' (33.23)

ahmad:21643 – Abū Kāmil > Ibrāhīm > Ibn Shihāb > Khārijah b. Zayd > Zayd b. Thābit

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting this verse: "Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah" (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:23). I found it with Khuzaimah ibn Thabit, so I added it to its place in the Quran.

زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ خُزَيْمَةَ

tabarani:3712 – Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm al-Dabarī > ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > Khārijah b. Zayd

[Machine] Zaid bin Thabit, when we were writing the Mus'haf, I lost a verse that I used to hear from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . So, I found it with Khuzaymah bin Thabit al-Ansari, "Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah; of them, some have fulfilled their obligations and some are still waiting, but they have never changed their determination." He (Zaid bin Thabit) said, "Khuzaymah was known as 'Dhul-Shahadatayn' (possessing two testimonies)."  

الطبراني:٣٧١٢ – حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ قَالَ

زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ لَمَّا كَتَبْنَا الْمَصَاحِفَ فَقَدْتُ آيَةً كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَجَدْتُهَا عِنْدَ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ {مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَنْتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا} قَالَ «وَكَانَ خُزَيْمَةُ يُدْعَى ذُو الشَّهَادَتَيْنِ»

[Machine] Zaid, when we wrote the copies of the Quran, I lost a verse that I used to hear from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . I found it with Khuzaimah bin Thabit al-Ansari, who was called "the one with the two testimonies." The verse is: "Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow, and some are still waiting, but they have not changed (their commitment) in the least."  

الطبراني:٤٨٤١ – حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ قَالَ

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) recite it, so I sought it and found it with Khuzaymah ibn Thabit al-Ansari: "Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah." So I added it to its Surah in the Mushaf.  

الطبراني:٤٨٤٢ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ قَالَا سَمِعْنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي خَارِجَةُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ يَقُولُ فَقَدْتُ آيَةً مِنْ سُورَةِ الْأَحْزَابِ حِينَ نَسَخْتُ الْمُصْحَفَ وَكُنْتُ
