I gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ for offering prayer perfectly, giving Zakat, and giving good advice to every Muslim.

بَايَعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَلَى إِقَامِ الصَّلاَةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ وَالنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

The Prophet ﷺ had forbidden the sale of fruits till they were ripe (free from blight).

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ؓ نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثِّمَارِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلاَحُهَا

When I gave the pledge of allegiance to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he stipulated that I should give good advice to every Muslim.

سَمِعْتُ جَرِيرًا ؓ يَقُولُ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَاشْتَرَطَ عَلَىَّ وَالنُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

Never was the Prophet ﷺ asked for a thing to be given for which his answer was 'no'.

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا ؓ يَقُولُ مَا سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ شَىْءٍ قَطُّ فَقَالَ لاَ

I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah may peace and blessings be upon him) on sincerity and well-wishing for every Muslim.

سَمِعَ جَرِيرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ بَايَعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَلَى النُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

'Amr b. al-Hasan is reported to have said that he heard Jabir b. 'Abdullah (Allah be pleased with both of them) as saying that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a man. The rest of the hadith is the same as mentioned above.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ؓ يَقُولُ رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَجُلاً بِمِثْلِهِ

Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported that Allah's Apostle ﷺ and his Companions did not observe Sa'i between al-Safa' and al-Marwa but only one Sa'i.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ لَمْ يَطُفِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَلاَ أَصْحَابُهُ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ إِلاَّ طَوَافًا وَاحِدًا

I saw Allah's Apostle ﷺ throwing stones (at Jamrat al 'Aqaba) like pelting of small pebbles.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ رَمَى الْجَمْرَةَ بِمِثْلِ حَصَى الْخَذْفِ

Jabir b. Abdullah (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited Shighar.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الشِّغَارِ

Jabir b. Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them) reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding the sale of fruit until its good condition is obvious.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلاَحُهُ

Jabir b. 'Abdullah (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the hiring of a Camel to cover a she-Camel and from selling water and land to be tilled. So from all this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ بَيْعِ ضِرَابِ الْجَمَلِ وَعَنْ بَيْعِ الْمَاءِ وَالأَرْضِ لِتُحْرَثَ فَعَنْ ذَلِكَ نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ

It never happened that Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked for anything and he said: No.

مَا سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ شَيْئًا قَطُّ فَقَالَ لاَ

The Apostle of Allaah ( sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam ) forbade us to use a bone or dung for wiping.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَتَمَسَّحَ بِعَظْمٍ أَوْ بَعْرٍ

The Prophet ﷺ had a man and a woman of the Jews who had committed fornication stoned to death.

سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ رَجَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ رَجُلاً مِنَ الْيَهُودِ وَامْرَأَةً زَنَيَا

"I pledged to the Messenger of Allah to be sincere toward ever Muslim."

بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى النُّصْحِ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

"I pledged to the Prophet to hear and obey and to be sincere toward every Muslim."

جَرِيرٌ بَايَعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ وَأَنْ أَنْصَحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the sale of fruits till they were clearly in good condition, forbidding it both to the seller and to the buyer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3367)

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثِّمَارِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهَا نَهَى الْبَائِعَ وَالْمُشْتَرِيَ»

the Messenger of Allah forbade selling fruits until their condition is known. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4520)

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الثَّمَرِ أَنْ يُبَاعَ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling fruits or palm trees until their goodness becomes apparent.

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ أَوِ النَّخْلِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهُ

the Messenger of Allah forbade selling fruits until their condition is known. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4520)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ تُبَاعَ الثَّمَرَةُ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهَا

[AI] He heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say, "There is no fulfillment of a vow made in disobedience to Allah, and it is not raised."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ لَا وَفَاءَ لِنَذْرٍ فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللهِ وَلَمْ يَرْفَعَاهُ

[AI] I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say, "The Prophet ﷺ was never asked a question without responding, 'No.'"

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ مَا سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ شَيْئًا قَطُّ فَقَالَ لَا

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade killing any animal when it is tied up (for use as a target).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3188)

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُقْتَلَ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ صَبْرًا

[AI] "Jabir bin Abdullah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding tattooing on the face and striking the face."

قَالَسَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْوَسْمِ فِي الْوَجْهِ وَالضَّرْبِ فِي الْوَجْهِ

Jabir b. Abdullah (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited Shighar. (Using translation from Muslim 1417)

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الشِّغَارِ

Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported that Allah's Apostle ﷺ stoned (to death) a person from Banu Aslam, and a Jew and his wife. (Using translation from Muslim 1701a)

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ رَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَسْلَمَ وَرَجُلًا مِنَ الْيَهُودِ وَامْرَأَةً

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade killing any animal when it is tied up (for use as a target).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3188)

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُقْتَلَ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ صَبْرًا

“At the time of Khaibar we ate horses and wild donkeys.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3191)

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ أَكَلْنَا زَمَنَ خَيْبَرَ الْخَيْلَ وَحُمُرَ الْوَحْشِ وَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْحِمَارِ الْأَهْلِيِّ

[AI] He heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say: "We ate with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the qadeed in Madinah from the qadeed of the Adha."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ أَكَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْقَدِيدَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ قَدِيدِ الْأَضْحَى

[AI] He heard Jabir ibn Abdullah saying that the Prophet ﷺ stood up for the funeral of a Jew until it passed by him.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ قَامَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِجَنَازَةِ يَهُودِيٍّ حَتَّى جَاوَزَتْهُ

[AI] Zubayr heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say, "The Prophet ﷺ secluded himself from his wives for a month and then he mentioned its meaning."

الزُّبَيْرِأَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ اعْتَزَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ نِسَاءَهُ شَهْرًا فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade killing any animal when it is tied up (for use as a target).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3188)

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُقْتَلَ شَيْءٌ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ صَبْرًا

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهُ

[AI] He heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade tattooing on the face and striking the face.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْوَسْمِ فِي الْوَجْهِ وَالضَّرْبِ فِي الْوَجْهِ

[AI] He heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say, "The Prophet ﷺ performed Ruqyah for the camel of the Banu Amr at a low price."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ أَرْخَصَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي رُقْيَةِ الْحُمَةِ لِبَنِي عَمْرٍو

The Apostle of Allaah ( sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam ) forbade us to use a bone or dung for wiping. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 38)

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَتَمَسَّحَ بِعَظْمٍ أَوْ بَعْرٍ

[AI] "He heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say, 'And I do not know how many times he threw the pebble.'"

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ وَلَا أَدْرِي بِكَمْ رَمَى الْجَمْرَةَ

[AI] I heard Jarir bin Abdullah say from the pulpit, "I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he stipulated that I give sincere advice to every Muslim. Indeed, I am to you an advisor."

سَمِعْتُ جَرِيرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَاشْتَرَطَ عَلَيَّ النُّصْحَ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ فَإِنِّي لَكُمْ لَنَاصِحٌ

[AI] I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say, "I entered upon Al-Hajjaj, but he did not greet me."

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ «دَخَلْتُ عَلَى الْحَجَّاجِ فَمَا سَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ»

[AI] From Jabir ibn Abdullah.

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ؓ

"The Messenger of Allah forbade plastering over graves, building over them or sitting on them." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2028)

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ تَقْصِيصِ الْقُبُورِ وَأَنْ يُبْنَى عَلَيْهَا أَوْ يُجْلَسَ عَلَيْهَا»

This hadith has been reported on the authority of Jabir b. 'Abdullah through another chain of transmitters. (Using translation from Muslim 2116b)

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ بَيَاضِ الْأَرْضِ»

"Do not sell fruits until they have ripened."' (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2215)

«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلَاحُهَا»

[AI] "He (the speaker) heard Jabir ibn Abdullah saying, 'The Prophet ﷺ forbade beating camels excessively.'"

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ «نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ ضِرَابِ الْجَمَلِ»

[AI] He heard Jabir bin Abdullah say that the Prophet ﷺ forbade having images in the house.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «نَهَى عَنِ الصُّوَرِ فِي الْبَيْتِ»

[AI] He heard Jabir ibn Abdullah saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ permitted the Banu Amr ibn Awf to practice rukyah on a snake."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ «رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِبَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ فِي رُقْيَةِ الْحَيَّةِ»

[AI] I heard Jabir ibn Abdullah saying, "The Prophet ﷺ was never asked something but he refused."

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ «مَا سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ شَيْئًا قَطُّ فَأَبَى»

[AI] I heard Jabir saying, "The Prophet ﷺ was never asked about something and he said no."

سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ «مَا سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنْ شَيْءٍ قَطُّ فَقَالَ لَا»

[AI] Jabir bin Abdullah passed away in the year sixty.

«تُوُفِّيَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ سَنَةَ سِتِّينَ»
