After offering the two rakʿat (Sunna) the Prophet ﷺ used to talk to me, if I happen to be awake; otherwise he would lie down.

البخاري:١١٦٢ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَإِنْ كُنْتُ مُسْتَيْقِظَةً حَدَّثَنِي وَإِلاَّ اضْطَجَعَ قُلْتُ لِسُفْيَانَ فَإِنَّ بَعْضَهُمْ يَرْوِيهِ رَكْعَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ هُوَ ذَاكَ

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had prayed the two rak'ahs (Sunan) of the dawn prayer, he would talk to me if I was awake, otherwise he would lie down.
