The Prophet ﷺ said, "No doubt, I intended to order somebody to pronounce the Iqama of the (compulsory congregational) prayer and then I would go to the houses of those who do not attend the prayer and burn their houses over them."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ بِالصَّلاَةِ فَتُقَامَ ثُمَّ أُخَالِفَ إِلَى مَنَازِلِ قَوْمٍ لاَ يَشْهَدُونَ الصَّلاَةَ فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying; I thought to give orders for arranging prayer in congregation, and then to have the Iqamah called for it, then to order a man to lead the people in prayer, then to go off in company of the people who have bundles of firewood to those people who are not present at the prayer and then to burn down their houses with fire.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ بِالصَّلاَةِ فَتُقَامَ ثُمَّ آمُرَ رَجُلاً فَيُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ ثُمَّ أَنْطَلِقَ مَعِي بِرِجَالٍ مَعَهُمْ حُزَمٌ مِنْ حَطَبٍ إِلَى قَوْمٍ لاَ يَشْهَدُونَ الصَّلاَةَ فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ بِالنَّارِ

the Prophet said: "I was about to order my boys to collect bundles of firewood, then order Salat to be held, then burn (the homes) of the people who did not attend the Salat."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ فِتْيَتِي أَنْ يَجْمَعُوا حُزَمَ الْحَطَبِ ثُمَّ آمُرَ بِالصَّلاَةِ فَتُقَامَ ثُمَّ أُحَرِّقَ عَلَى أَقْوَامٍ لاَ يَشْهَدُونَ الصَّلاَةَ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'I was thinking of commanding that the call to prayer be given, then I would tell a man to lead the people in prayer, then I would go out with some other men carrying bundles of wood, and go to people who do not attend the prayer, and burn their houses down around them.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ بِالصَّلاَةِ فَتُقَامَ ثُمَّ آمُرَ رَجُلاً فَيُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ ثُمَّ أَنْطَلِقَ بِرِجَالٍ مَعَهُمْ حُزَمٌ مِنْ حَطَبٍ إِلَى قَوْمٍ لاَ يَشْهَدُونَ الصَّلاَةَ فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ بِالنَّارِ

the Prophet said: "I was about to order my boys to collect bundles of firewood, then order Salat to be held, then burn (the homes) of the people who did not attend the Salat." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 217)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ فِتْيَتِي فَيَجْمَعُوا حُزَمَ الْحَطَبِ ثُمَّ آمُرَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَتُقَامَ ثُمَّ أُحَرِّقَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ الصَّلَاةَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I indeed intended to command for the prayer to be established and then I would take out my young boys with them carrying bundles of firewood, and I would burn it upon a people in their homes who can hear the call to prayer but do not come to pray. Yazid asked, 'Is this on Fridays or other days?' He replied, 'I have never heard Abu Hurairah mention Fridays or other days except for this.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَتُقَامَ ثُمَّ أَخْرُجَ بِفِتْيَانِي مَعَهُمْ حُزَمُ الْحَطَبِ فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ فِي بُيُوتِهِمْ يَسْمَعُونَ النِّدَاءَ ثُمَّ لَا يَأْتُونَ الصَّلَاةَ فَسَأَلَ يَزِيدُ أَفِي الْجُمُعَةِ هَذَا أَمْ فِي غَيْرِهَا؟ قَالَ مَا سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَذْكُرُ جُمُعَةً وَلَا غَيْرَهَا إِلَّا هَكَذَا

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have considered ordering Bilal to call for prayer and then go to a people who can hear the call but do not respond, and then set fire to their houses."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ بِلَالًا يُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ ثُمَّ أَنْصَرِفَ إِلَى قَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ النِّدَاءَ فَلَا يُجِيبُونَ فَأَحْرِقَ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ»

[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ who said, "I had intended to order the call for prayer (Adhan) to be made and then command a group of young men to carry bundles of firewood and burn the houses of those who did not attend the prayer even though they could hear the Adhan, but I considered that this might cause hardship for people who were old or sick."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَتُقَامَ ثُمَّ آمُرَ بِفِتْيَانٍ مَعَهُمْ حُزَمُ الْحَطَبِ وَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ دُورَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ النِّدَاءَ ثُمَّ لَا يَأْتُونَ الصَّلَاةَ

اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم لقد هممت أن آمر بالصلاة فتقام ثُمَّ أخالف إلى منازل قوم لا يشهدون الصلاة فأحرق عليهم

اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمر رجلا يصلي بالناس ثم أنطلق معي برجال معهم حزم الحطب إلى قوم لا يشهدون الصلاة فأحرق عليهم بيوتهم
