O Allah, I am a human being and for any person amongst Muslims upon whom I hurl malediction or invoke curse or give him whipping make it a source of purity and mercy.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ فَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ سَبَبْتُهُ أَوْ لَعَنْتُهُ أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ زَكَاةً وَرَحْمَةً

O Allah, I make a covenant with Thee against which Thou wouldst never go. I am a human being and thus for a Muslim whom I give any harm or whom I scold or upon whom I invoke curse or whom I beat, make this a source of blessing, purification and nearness to Thee on the Day of Resurrection.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتَّخِذُ عِنْدَكَ عَهْدًا لَنْ تُخْلِفَنِيهِ فَإِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ فَأَىُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ آذَيْتُهُ شَتَمْتُهُ لَعَنْتُهُ جَلَدْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ صَلاَةً وَزَكَاةً وَقُرْبَةً تُقَرِّبُهُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

I heard Abu Huraira as saying that he heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: O Allah, Muhammad is a human being. I lose my temper just as human beings lose temper, and I have held a covenant with Thee which Thou wouldst not break: For a believer whom I give any trouble or invoke curse or beat, make that an expiation (of his sins and a source of) his nearness to Thee on the Day of Resurrection.

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّمَا مُحَمَّدٌ بَشَرٌ يَغْضَبُ كَمَا يَغْضَبُ الْبَشَرُ وَإِنِّي قَدِ اتَّخَذْتُ عِنْدَكَ عَهْدًا لَنْ تُخْلِفَنِيهِ فَأَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ آذَيْتُهُ أَوْ سَبَبْتُهُ أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ كَفَّارَةً وَقُرْبَةً تُقَرِّبُهُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

I have held covenant with Thee which Thou wouldst not break, so for any believer whom I curse or beat, make that an expiation on the Day of Resurrection.

أَنَّهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي اتَّخَذْتُ عِنْدَكَ عَهْدًا لَنْ تُخْلِفَنِيهِ فَأَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ سَبَبْتُهُ أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْ ذَلِكَ كَفَّارَةً لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, I am only a human, so whoever among the Muslims I have cursed or insulted or beaten, make it a means of prayer and mercy and closeness for him to You on the Day of Judgment."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ فَأَيُّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ لَعَنْتُهُ أَوْ شَتَمْتُهُ أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ صَلَاةً وَرَحْمَةً وَقُرْبَةً تُقَرِّبُهُ بِهَا إِلَيْكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, I am only a human being. So whoever I have cursed or wronged, make it a means of purification and nearness to You for him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اللهُمَّ فَإِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ فَأَيُّمَا مُسْلِمٍ لَعَنْتُهُ أَوْ آذَيْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ زَكَاةً وَقُرْبَةً

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O Allah, I make with You a covenant that You will not abandon me. Indeed, I am only human, so whichever slave I have whipped, insulted, or cursed, make it a prayer and means of closeness for him."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتَّخِذُ عِنْدَكَ عَهْدًا لَنْ تُخْلِفَنِيهِ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ فَأَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ جَلَدْتُهُ أَوْ شَتَمْتُهُ أَوْ سَبَبْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ صَلَاةً وَقُرْبَةً

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet, ﷺ , he said, "O Allah, indeed I am only human. So whoever I have beaten, cursed, or insulted, make it a means of purification, reward, and closeness to You on the Day of Judgment."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتَّخِذُ عِنْدَكَ عَهْدًا لَنْ تُخْلِفَهُ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ فَأَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ آذَيْتُهُ أَوْ شَتَمْتُهُ أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ أَوْ لَعَنْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ صَلَاةً وَزَكَاةً وَقُرْبَةً تُقَرِّبُهُ بِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, I have made a covenant with You that You will not break. Indeed, I am only a human, so if I ever harm or insult a believer, or beat them, or curse them, then make it for them a means of prayer, purification, and nearness [to You] on the Day of Judgment." This is the wording of the Hadith of As-Sulami.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ اللهُمَّ إِنِّي اتَّخَذْتُ عِنْدَكَ عَهْدًا لَنْ تُخْلِفَهُ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ فَأِيُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ آذَيْتُهُ أَوْ شَتَمْتُهُ أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ أَوْ لَعَنْتُهُ فَاجْعَلْهَا لَهُ صَلَاةً وَزَكَاةً وَقُرْبَةً تُقَرِّبُهُ بِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ السُّلَمِيِّ

"اللَّهُمَّ إِنّى أَتَّخِذُ عنْدَكَ عَهْدًا لَنْ تُخْلِفَنِيهِ، فَإِنَّمَا أنَا بَشَرٌ، فَأيما مُؤمِنٍ آذَيتُهُ، أو شتَمْتُهُ، أَوْ جَلَدْتُه، أَوْ لَعَنْتُهُ فَاجْعَلهَا لَهُ صَلاةً، وَزَكَاة وقُرْبَةً تُقَرَبهُ بِهَا إِلَيك يَوْمَ القِيَامَةَ" .

"اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ، فَأيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مِنَ المُسْلِمِينَ سَبَبْتُهُ، أَوْ لَعَنْتُهْ، أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ فَاجْعَلهَا لَه زَكَاةً وَرَحْمَةً ".

"اللهُمَّ إِنَّمَا مُحَمدٌ بَشَرٌ يَغْضَب كَمَا يَغْضَبُ البَشَرُ، وَإنِّي قَدْ اتَّخَذْتُ عِنْدَكَ عَهْدًا لَنْ تُخْلفَنيهِ، فَأيما مُؤْمنٍ آذَيتُهُ، أوْ سَبَبْتُهُ، أَوْ جَلَدْتُهُ فَاجْعَلهَا لَهُ كفَّارَة، وَقُرْبَة تُقَربهُ بِهَا إِلَيكَ يَوْمَ القِيامةِ".

"اللَّهُمَّ أَتَّخذُ عنْدَكَ عَهْدًا تُؤَدِّيهِ إِلى يَوْمَ القِيَامةِ، إِنّكَ لَا تُخْلفُ المِيعَادَ، فَإنَّمَا أنَا بشَرٌ، فَأيُّ المُسلِمِين آذَيتُهُ، أوْ شَتَمْتُهُ، أوْ ضرَبْتُهُ، أو سَببتُهُ فَاجْعَلهَا لَهُ صَلاةً وَاجْعلهَا لَهُ زَكَاةً، وَقُرْبَةً تُقْرِّبهُ بِهَا إِلَيكَ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ ".

"اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ فَأيُّ رَجُلٍ مِنَ المُسْلِمِينَ سَبَبْتُهُ، أوْ لَعَنْتُهُ، أوْ جَلَدْتُه فَاجْعَلهَا لَهُ زَكاة وَأجْرًا" .
