from the Prophet ﷺ who narrated from his Lord, "If My slave comes nearer to me for a span, I go nearer to him for a cubit; and if he comes nearer to Me for a cubit, I go nearer to him for the span of outstretched arms; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَرْوِيهِ عَنْ رَبِّهِ قَالَ: «إِذَا تَقَرَّبَ الْعَبْدُ إِلَىَّ شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبْتُ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا، وَإِذَا تَقَرَّبَ مِنِّي ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ بَاعًا، وَإِذَا أَتَانِي مَشْيًا أَتَيْتُهُ هَرْوَلَةً۔»

When My servant draws close to Me by the span of a palm, I draw close to him by the cubit and when he draws close to Me by the cubit, I draw close to him by the space (covered) by two armspans, and when he comes to me walking, I go in a hurry towards him.

[Machine] Yahya and perhaps the Prophet ﷺ mentioned that he said, "The servant does not approach me by a hand span except that I approach him by an arm's length. And the servant does not approach me by an arm's length except that I approach him by a fathom or two."

يَحْيَى وَرُبَّمَا ذَكَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا يَتَقَرَّبُ الْعَبْدُ إِلَيَّ شِبْرًا إِلَّا تَقَرَّبْتُ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا وَلَا يَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَيَّ ذِرَاعًا إِلَّا تَقَرَّبْتُ إِلَيْهِ بَاعًا أَوْ بُوعًا

[Machine] "The Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , said: Whoever approaches Allah by a hand span, Allah approaches him by an arm's length. Whoever approaches Allah by an arm's length, Allah approaches him by two arms' length. And whoever comes to Allah walking, Allah comes to him running."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, said: 'When my servant comes closer to Me by a hand's span, I come closer to him by an arm's length. And when he comes closer to Me walking, I come closer to him running. And if he comes to Me running, I come to him hurrying.' And Allah is more generous in forgiving."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى إِذَا تَقَرَّبَ عَبْدِي مِنِّي شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ ذِرَاعًا وَإِذَا تَقَرَّبَ مِنِّي ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ بَاعًا وَإِذَا أَتَانِي مَشْيًا أَتَيْتُهُ هَرْوَلَةً وَإِنْ هَرْوَلَ سَعَيْتُ إِلَيْهِ وَاللَّهُ أَوْسَعُ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ»

When My servant draws close to Me by the span of a palm, I draw close to him by the cubit and when he draws close to Me by the cubit, I draw close to him by the space (covered) by two armspans, and when he comes to me walking, I go in a hurry towards him. (Using translation from Muslim 2675e)

اللهُ ﷻ «إِذَا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ عَبْدِي شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبْتُ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا وَإِذَا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ بَاعًا وَإِذَا أَتَانِي يَمْشِي أَتَيْتُهُ هَرْوَلَةً»

"مَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَى اللهِ - ﷻ - شِبْرًا، تَقَرَّبَ (اللهُ) إِلَيهِ ذِرَاعًا، وَمَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيهِ ذِرَاعًا، تَقَرَّبَ اللهُ إِلَيهِ بَاعًا، ومَنْ أَتَاه يَمْشِي، أَتَاهُ اللهُ يُهرول".

"قَال اللهُ -تَعَالى-: إِذَا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ العَبْدُ شِبرا، تَقَربتُ إِلَيهِ ذرَاعًا، وإذَا تَقرب إِلَيّ ذرَاعًا، تَقَربتُ مِنْهُ بَاعًا وإِذَا أتَانِى مَشْيًا، أتَيتهُ هروَلَةً".

"يَقُولُ اللَّه: إِذَا تَقَرَّبَ مِنِّى عَبْدِى شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ ذِرَاعًا، وَإِذَا تَقَرَّبَ مِنِّى ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبْتُ مِنْهُ بَاعًا، وَإِذَا أَتَانِى مَاشِيًا أَتَيْتُهُ هَرْوَلَةً".
