Forgiveness through ablution and two rakahs in the mosque

bazzar:4al-Ḥārith b. al-Khaḍr al-ʿAṭṭār > Saʿd b. Abī Saʿīd al-Maqburī > ʿAbdullāh b. Saʿīd > Abū Saʿīd al-Maqburī > ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib > Abū Bakr

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "There is no Muslim who performs ablution and does the ablution well, then comes to the mosque and prays two rakahs in it, then seeks Allah's forgiveness, except that Allah forgives him." And Abu Kurayb narrated it to us; he said: Abu Muawiyah narrated to us; he said: Abdullah ibn Saeed narrated to us from his grandfather Abu Saeed al-Maqburi; he said: I heard Ali ibn Abi Talib saying: I heard Abu Bakr saying: The Messenger ﷺ said, then he mentioned something similar to it. Abu Bakr, Saad ibn Saeed, and Abdullah ibn Saeed—their hadith has some weakness, and a group has narrated from them both and from each one of them. We only record from their hadith what has already been narrated from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, even if it is through another chain. And these words were narrated by Asma ibn al-Hakam from Ali from Abu Bakr.

Forgiveness after ablution and two rakahs

bazzar:5Muḥammad b. al-Muthannā > Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > ʿUthmān b. al-Mughīrah > ʿAlī b. Rabīʿah > Asmāʾ or Abī Asmāʾ > ʿAlī

[AI] I was a man who, when I heard a hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Allah benefited me by it as much as He willed to benefit me. And if one of his Companions narrated it to me from him, I would make him swear an oath; if he swore to me, I believed him. Abu Bakr narrated to me—and Abu Bakr spoke the truth—that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "There is no Muslim who performs ablution and does the ablution well, then comes to the mosque and prays two rakahs, then seeks Allah's forgiveness, except that Allah forgives him." Abu Bakr said: This hadith was narrated by Shubah, Misar, Sufyan al-Thawri, Sharik, Abu Awanah, and Qays ibn al-Rabi, and we do not know anyone who doubted between Asma or Abu Asma except Shubah. Amr ibn Abdullah al-Awdi narrated to us: Waki ibn al-Jarrah narrated to us: Misar and Sufyan narrated from Uthman ibn al-Mughirah, from Ali ibn Rabiah, from Asma ibn al-Hakam, from Ali, from Abu Bakr. Sufyan attributed it to the Prophet ﷺ, while Misar did not attribute it to the Prophet ﷺ, and he mentioned something similar to it. Abd al-Wahid ibn Ghiyath narrated to us: Abu Awanah narrated from Uthman ibn al-Mughirah, from Ali ibn Rabiah, from Asma ibn al-Hakam al-Fazari, from Ali, from Abu Bakr, from the Prophet ﷺ, with something like the hadith of Shubah. Al-Fadl ibn Sahl narrated to us: Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us: Sharik narrated from Uthman ibn al-Mughirah, from Ali ibn Rabiah, from Asma ibn al-Hakam, from Ali, from Abu Bakr, from the Prophet ﷺ, with something similar to the hadith of Shubah. Abu Bakr said: We do not know this wording to be narrated from Abu Bakr from the Prophet ﷺ except through these two routes. And Ali's statement, "I was a man who, when I heard a hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," was only narrated by Asma ibn al-Hakam. Asma is unknown; he did not narrate anything other than this hadith, and no one narrated from him except Ali ibn Rabiah. And this wording was not narrated from Ali except through this route.
