[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to recite in the noon and afternoon prayers, in the first two units, from the beginning of the Quran and two Surahs. In the last two units, he would recite from the beginning of the Quran. Sometimes, he would also recite a verse aloud. He would make the first unit longer than the second unit. He would do the same in the evening prayer and in the morning prayer.  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ بِأُمِّ الْكِتَابِ وَسُورَتَيْنِ وَفِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُخْرَيَيْنِ بِأُمِّ الْكِتَابِ وَكَانَ يُسْمِعُنَا أَحْيَانًا الْآيَةَ وَكَانَ يُطِيلُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى وَلَا يُطِيلُ فِي الثَّانِيَةِ وَهَكَذَا فِي الْعَصْرِ وَهَكَذَا فِي الصُّبْحِ
