[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever owns a dog, except for a dog used for herding animals or farming, will have two Qirats deducted from his reward every day." This narration is reported by Abdullah ibn Dinar in a Sahih Hadith from another source.  

البيهقي:١١٠٢٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا أَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ ذَهَبْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ إِلَى بَنِي مُعَاوِيَةَ فَنَبَحَتْ عَلَيْنَا كِلَابٌ فَقَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ ضَارِيَةٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ أَخْرَجَاهُ فِي الصَّحِيحِ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ

Ibn 'Umar reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying He who kept a dog other than one meant for hunting or for watching the herd lost out of his deeds (equal to) two qirat every day.  

مسلم:١٥٧٤c – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى وَيَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ وَقُتَيْبَةُ وَابْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ الآخَرُونَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ وَهْوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلاَّ كَلْبَ ضَارِيَةٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ  

nasai:4287 – ʿAbd al-Jabbār b. al-ʿAlāʾ > Sufyān > al-Zuhrī > Sālim from his father

"Whoever keeps a dog. Except a dog for hunting or herding livestock, two Qirats will be deducted from his reward each day."  

النسائي:٤٢٨٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلاَّ كَلْبَ صَيْدٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ  

tirmidhi:1487 – Aḥmad b. Manīʿ > Ismāʿīl b. Ibrāhīm > Ayyūb > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever keeps a dog" - or: "acquires a dog" - "neither of hunting nor to guard livestock, then two Qirat are deducted from his reward, daily."  

الترمذي:١٤٨٧ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا لَيْسَ بِضَارٍ وَلاَ كَلْبَ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَسُفْيَانَ بْنِ أَبِي زُهَيْرٍ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عُمَرَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَوْ كَلْبَ زَرْعٍ
malik:54-13 – Mālik > Nāfiʿ > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar

Malik related to me from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever acquires a dog other than a sheepdog or hunting dog, will have two qirats deducted from the reward of his good actions every day."  

مالك:٥٤-١٣ – وَحَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلاَّ كَلْبًا ضَارِيًا أَوْ كَلْبَ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ  

ahmad:6443 – ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ḥārith > Ḥanẓalah > Sālim b. ʿAbdullāh > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar /

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'whoever keeps a dog, two Qirats will be detracted from his reward each day, except a trained hunting dog, or a dog for herding livestock." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 4284)   

أحمد:٦٤٤٣ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَنِي حَنْظَلَةُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ
