[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever takes a false oath to appropriate the property of a Muslim while he is still engaged in the act of sinning, he will meet Allah, Exalted and Glorious, while He is angry with him." He said, "This verse was revealed: 'Verily, those who purchase a small gain at the cost of the covenant of Allah and their oaths...' (Quran 3:77) until the end of the verse."  

أحمد:٤٢١٢حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

I heard the Messenger of Allah observing: He who took an oath on the property of a Muslim without legitimate right would meet Allah and He would be angry, with him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in support of his contention recited the verse:" Verily those who barter Allah's covenant and their oaths at a small price.

Al-Ash'ath said: I swear by Allah, he said this about me. There was some land between me and a Jew, but he denied it to me; so I presented him to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ asked me: Have you any evidence? I replied: No. He said to the Jew: Take an oath. I said: Messenger of Allah, now he will take an oath and take my property. So Allah, the Exalted, revealed the verse, "As for those who sell the faith they owe to Allah and their own plighted word for a small price, they shall have no portion in the hereafter."

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ : "Whoever takes an oath by my right hand to acquire the property of a Muslim, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited to us this statement as proof from the book of Allah, the Mighty and the Majestic, "Verily, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their own oaths for a small price, they shall have no portion in the Hereafter, nor will Allah speak to them" (Surah Al-Imran, 3:77).

ذِكْرُ إِيجَابِ غَضِبِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا لِلْمُقْتَطِعِ شَيْئًا مِنْ مَالِ أَخِيهِ الْمُسْلِمِ بِالْيَمِينِ الْفَاجِرَةِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allahﷺ said, "Whoever swears falsely by a pact of patience in order to usurp his brother's wealth, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him." This is because Allah says, "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price..." until the end of the verse.  

ابن حبّان:٥٠٨٥أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ الْعُمَرِيُّ بِالْمَوْصِلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

[Machine] Abdullah ibn Mas'ud recited this verse: "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price, there will be no share for them in the Hereafter." He said: "No verse of the Qur'an has been abrogated by another verse more forcefully than this verse. So, whoever takes even a small portion of a Muslim's wealth by his right hand, then he is among the people of this verse."

عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا} لَمْ يَنْسَخْهَا شَيْءٌ فَأَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ اقْتَطَعَ مَالَ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ بِيَمِينِهِ فَهُوَ مِنْ أَهْلِ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever swears an intentional oath to wrongfully cut off the wealth of a Muslim, he will meet Allah on the Day of Resurrection while He is angry with him." He recited the verse, "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price..." Yazid ibn Ibrahim raised his hand, but Hammad ibn Zaid did not raise his.  

الطبراني:١٠١١٣حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا أَيُّوبُ السِّخْتِيَانِيُّ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

[Machine] In this verse, it was revealed to me that I had a piece of land in the possession of my paternal uncle. So, I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said, "Do you want me to arbitrate or shall I uphold his oath?" I said, "If he has taken an oath, then you should arbitrate, O Messenger of Allah." So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever takes an oath, while he is still a sinner and uses it to wrongfully take the wealth of a Muslim, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him." So, Allah revealed the verse: "Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price..." until the end of the verse.

فِيَّ أُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ كَانَتْ لِي أَرْضٌ فِي يَدِ عَمٍّ لِي فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «بَيِّنَتُكَ أَوْ يَمِينُهُ» قُلْتُ يَحْلِفُ إِذًا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ صَبْرٍ يَقْتَطِعُ بِهَا مَالَ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ وَهُوَ فِيهَا فَاجِرٌ لَقِيَ اللهَ ﷻ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ غَضْبَانُ» فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ الْآيَةَ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ  

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا} [آل عمران: 77]

[Machine] Ibn Mas'ud said, "This verse was revealed: 'Indeed, those who exchange the covenant of Allah and their [own] oaths for a small price' (Quran 3:77), until the end of the verse. Then, nothing abrogated it. So, whoever unjustly takes the wealth of a Muslim by his oath, he is from the people of this verse."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah said, "Whoever unjustly takes the wealth of a Muslim by false oath, he will meet Allah while He is angry with him."
