The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day (of the Battle) of Ahzab: They diverted us from saying the middle prayer, i. e. the 'Asr prayer. May Allah fill their houses and graves with fire; he then observed this prayer between the evening prayer and the night prayer.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلأَ اللَّهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا ثُمَّ صَلاَّهَا بَيْنَ الْعِشَاءَيْنِ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

It was narrated that ‘Ali ؓ said. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of al-Ahzab. ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer, ‘Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and houses with fire.ʿ Then he offered it between the two evening prayers, Maghrib and ‘Isha’.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا ثُمَّ صَلَّاهَا بَيْنَ الْعِشَاءَيْنِ بَيْنِ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of al-Ahzab: “They distracted us from the middle prayer, Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and houses with fire.” Then he prayed [ʿAsr] between the two evening prayers, between Maghrib and ʿIshaʿ. Abu Muʿawiyah said on one occasion: i.e., between Maghrib and ‘Ishaʿ.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا قَالَ ثُمَّ صَلاهَا بَيْنَ الْعِشَاءَيْنِ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ وقَالَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ مَرَّةً يَعْنِي بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ

They distracted us on the day of al-Ahzab from ʿAsr prayer, until I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer, ‘Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and houses or stomachs with fire.”

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "They distract us from performing the middle prayer, the Asr prayer. May Allah fill their bellies and graves with fire."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ أَجْوَافَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا»

They distracted us on the day of al-Ahzab from ʿAsr prayer, until I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer, ‘Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and houses or stomachs with fire.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 1036)

فَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ «شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا»

[Machine] "He said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was occupied on the Day of the Confederates, that he missed the Asr prayer until he prayed between Maghrib and Isha. Thus, he said, 'They have occupied us from the middle prayer of Asr. May Allah fill their graves and homes with fire.'"

أَنَّهُ قَالَ شُغِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى صَلَّى مَا بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فَقَالَ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا

I heard ʿAli ؓ say: On the day of al-Ahzab, we prayed ‘Asr between Maghrib and ʿIshaʿ. The Prophet ﷺ said: ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer, ‘Asr, prayer, may Allah fill their graves and stomachs with fire.ʿ (Using translation from Aḥmad 1246)

سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْأَحْزَابِ صَلَّيْنَا الْعَصْرَ مَا بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةَ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying on the day of Al-Ahzab, "They have distracted us from offering the Asr (noon) prayer until the sun has set. May Allah fill their graves and bellies with fire."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ يَقُولُ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا

"شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ، مَلأَ الله تعَالَى أَجْوَافَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا".

" عَنْ عَلِىٍّ قَالَ: لَمَّا كَانَ يَومُ الأحْزَاب صَلَّيْنَا العَصْرَ بَيْنَ المَغْرِبِ وَالعِشَاءِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ : شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الوُسْطَى - صَلاَةِ العَصْرِ - مَلأ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأجْوَافَهُمْ - وَفِى لَفْظ - قُلُوبهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ - وَفِى لَفْظِ: مَلأَ الله عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا ".

" عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَاتَلَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ : المُشْرِكينَ حَتَّى فَاتَتْهُمُ الصَّلاَةُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ : شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الوُسْطَى صَلاَةِ العَصْرِ، مَلأَ الله قُلُوبَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا".
