The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Al-Ahzab; ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer until the sunset. May Allah fill their graves with fire and their houses - or their stomachs - Shuʿbah was not sure whether it was houses or stomachs.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى آبَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا وَبُيُوتَهُمْ أَوْ بُطُونَهُمْ شَكَّ شُعْبَةُ فِي الْبُيُوتِ وَالْبُطُونِ
When it was the day of the battle of Al-Ahzab (i.e. the clans), Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah! Fill their (i.e. the infidels') houses and graves with fire as they busied us so much that we did not perform the prayer (i.e. ʿAsr) till the sun set."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَلأَ اللَّهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حِينَ غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ
On the day of Al-Khandaq (i.e. Trench), the Prophet ﷺ said '(Let) Allah fill their (i.e. the infidels') houses and graves with fire just as they have prevented us from offering the Middle Prayer (i.e. ʿAsr prayer) till the sun had set."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ مَلأَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ
When it was the day (of the Battle) of Ahzab, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: May Allah fill their graves and houses with fire, as they detained us and diverted us from the middle prayer, till the sun set.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَلأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا حَبَسُونَا وَشَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: On the day (of the Battle) of Ahzab we were diverted from the middle prayer, till the sun set. May Allah fill their graves or their houses, or their stomachs with fire. The narrator is in doubt about" houses" and" stomachs".
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى آبَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا أَوْ بُيُوتَهُمْ أَوْ بُطُونَهُمْ شَكَّ شُعْبَةُ فِي الْبُيُوتِ وَالْبُطُونِ
They (the enemies) have diverted us from the middle prayer till the sun set. May Allah fill their graves and their houses with fire, or their graves and stomachs with fire.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الأَحْزَابِ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ عَلَى فُرْضَةٍ مِنْ فُرَضِ الْخَنْدَقِ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ أَوْ قَالَ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُطُونَهُمْ نَارًا
'Ubaidah As-Salmani that 'Ali narrated to him that on the Day of Al-Ahzab the Prophet ﷺ said: "O Allah! Fill their graves and their homes with fire as they have kept us busy from Salat Al-Wusta (the middle prayer) until the sun set."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ الأَحْزَابِ اللَّهُمَّ امْلأْ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ
“They distracted us from the middle prayer until the sunset. May Allah fill their graves, houses and stomachs with fire.”
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى آبَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ وَبُطُونَهُمْ نَارًا
ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer until the sunset; may Allah fill their graves and their houses - or their bellies and their houses - with fire.”
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ عَلَى فُرْضَةٍ مِنْ فِرَاضِ الْخَنْدَقِ فَقَالَ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلأ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ أَوْ بُطُونَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا
“O Allah, fill their houses and their graves with fire, as they distracted us from the middle prayer until the sunset.”
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ اللهُمَّ امْلَأَ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى آبَتِ الشَّمْسُ
ʿO Allah, fill their houses and graves with fire as they distracted us from the middle prayer until the sunset.ʿ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ اللهُمَّ امْلَأْ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى آبَتِ الشَّمْسُ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of Al-Ahzab. ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer until the sunset. May Allah fill their graves and houses - or stomachs - with fire.ʿ He (the narrator) was not sure whether it was houses or stomachs. As for graves, there is no doubt about that.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى آبَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ أَوْبُطُونَهُمْ نَارًا شَكَّ فِي الْبُيُوتِ وَالْبُطُونِ فَأَمَّا الْقُبُورُ فَلَيْسَ فِيهِ شَكٌّ
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of al-Khandaq: ʿWhat is wrong with them? May Allah fill their houses and graves with fire as they distracted us from the middle prayer until the sun set.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 1221)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَبَسُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللهُ بُطُونَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا
It was narrated from ‘Ali ؓ that The Prophet ﷺ said on the day of al-Ahzab. ʿMay Allah fill their houses and graves with fire, they distracted us from prayer until the sunset.ʿ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ مَلَأَ اللهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى آبَتِ الشَّمْسُ
They distracted us on the day of al-Ahzab from ʿAsr prayer, until I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: ʿThey distracted us from the middle prayer, ‘Asr prayer. May Allah fill their graves and houses or stomachs with fire.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 1036)
فَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ «شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا»
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying on the day of Al-Ahzab, "They have distracted us from offering the Asr (noon) prayer until the sun has set. May Allah fill their graves and bellies with fire."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ يَقُولُ شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَأَجْوَافَهُمْ نَارًا
اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُطُونَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا وَلَا نَعْلَمُ رَوَى يَحْيَى الْجَزَّارُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِلَّا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ
اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوسْطَى حَتَّى غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلَأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ نَارًا
اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَوْمَ الْأَحْزَابِ مَلَأَ اللَّهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْوسْطَى حَتَّى آبَتِ الشَّمْسُ
"مَلأَ اللهُ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا، كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنِ الصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ".
" عن على أن رسول الله ﷺ قال يوم الأحزاب: ملأ الله بيوتهم وقبورهم نارا كما شغلونا عن الصلاة الوسطى حتى غابت الشمس ".
