[Machine] Narrated by Nubayh Al-Anazi, on the authority of Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to advise us, when one of us returned from a journey, to first visit his family. So, we used to visit them accordingly.

Once the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to go on an expedition. He said: O group of the emigrants (Muhajirun) and the helpers (Ansar), among your brethren there are people who have neither property nor family. So one of you should take with him two or three persons; with me. I also rode on my camel by turns like one of them. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2534)

[Machine] From Nu'bayh al-Anzi from Jabir ibn Abdullah, he said: "I lost my camel one night, and as I passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , I saw him pulling towards Aisha. He asked me, 'What is wrong, O Jabir?' I said, 'I have lost my camel, or rather my camel has gone missing in a dark night.' He said, 'This is your camel, go and take it.' So I went in the direction he pointed, but I did not find it. I returned to him and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I did not find it.' He said, 'This is your camel, go and take it.' So I went again in the direction he pointed, but I did not find it. I returned to him and said, 'By my father and mother, O Messenger of Allah, I did not find it.' He said, 'Keep looking for it until I finish here.' Then he took my hand and we went until we reached the camel, and he handed it over to me and said, 'This is your camel.' He said, 'The people had already started walking away.' He said, 'While I was riding on my camel with its saddle, there was a bunch of branches on its hindquarters.' He said, 'I said, "How I wish I had nothing but a camel with branches as provisions." He said, 'And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rode behind me.' He said, 'So he heard what I said.' He said, 'Then he caught up with me and said, "What did you say, O Jabir?" I said, "I forgot what I said, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Do you want me to tell you what you said before?" I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "I said, 'How I wish I had nothing but a camel with branches as provisions.'" He said, 'So the Prophet ﷺ struck the camel with a whip, either his whip or mine, and it went slower or faster, and I mounted it behind him, grabbing its reins, and he said, "You are selling me your camel, this one?" I said, "Yes." He said, "For how much?" I said, "For an 'uqiyyah." He said, "Bah, bah! How many 'uqiyyahs are there in these provisions?" He said, 'I said, "O Messenger of Allah, there are a lot of ripe dates and fresh dates in an 'uqiyyah." He said, "In that case, I would like it to stay where it is." He said, 'So I got off the camel and handed it over to him. Then I took some Shabt or Khubt and fed it to the camel, and then I took hold of its reins and brought it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . I found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ standing and speaking to a man, so I said, 'Here is your camel, O Messenger of Allah.' He took the reins and called Bilal and said, 'Weigh some fruits for Jabir and fulfill his measure.' So I set off with Bilal, and he measured out some fruits for me, and he gave me the proper weight. Then I came back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was standing and talking to that man, and I said to him, 'You have given me some fruits and sent my camel back.'

[Machine] Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari narrated about the dedication of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in worship. He said, "We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) said, 'My father and I went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military expedition from Najd. A woman from the polytheists shot an arrow towards us, and we entered one of the houses of the polytheists. The arrow hit a woman from among them. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned and her husband came, but he was absent when it happened. When her situation was mentioned to him, he swore not to return until he spilled the blood of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .' So, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached a certain place, he camped in a valley and asked, 'Who are the two men who will spend the night with us from our enemies?' A man among the emigrants and a man from the Ansar said, 'We will bear you, O Messenger of Allah.' They went out to the mouth of the valley, away from the army. The Ansari said to the emigrant, 'Will you take the first part of the night or should I take it? Or should I take the last part and you take it first?' The emigrant said, 'No, you take the first part and I will take the last.' So, the emigrant slept and the Ansari prayed. He started reciting a chapter of the Quran, and while he was reciting, the wife's husband came and recognized him as a man from the enemy. He tried to kill him with an arrow, but the Ansari continued reciting without moving, out of dislike for interrupting the recitation. Then the wife's husband came to him again with another arrow, but the Ansari continued reciting without moving, out of dislike for interrupting the recitation. Then the wife's husband came to him for the third time with an arrow, but the Ansari continued reciting without moving. Then, he bowed and prostrated, and said to his companion, 'Sit down, I have been granted.' The emigrant sat down, and when the wife's husband saw both of them, he ran away knowing that he had been threatened. The Ansari was bleeding with the arrows shot by the wife's husband. The emigrant said to him, 'May Allah forgive you. Didn't you hear me when he shot the arrow at you for the first time?' The Ansari replied, 'I was reciting a chapter of the Quran that I had started reciting, and I disliked cutting it off. By Allah, if the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had not commanded me to keep it safe, I would have ended my life before ending the recitation.'"
