Salim ibn 'Abdullah reported from his father that 'Umar used to say to his sons, "Separate in the morning and do not meet together in the same house. I fear that you might split up or that some evil may take place between you."  

الأدب المفرد:٤١٥حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَغْرَاءَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُبَشِّرٍ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ

عَنْ أَبِيهِ كَانَ عُمَرُ يَقُولُ لِبَنِيهِ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتُمْ فَتَبَدَّدُوا وَلاَ تَجْتَمِعُوا فِي دَارٍ وَاحِدَةٍ فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ تَقَاطَعُوا أَوْ يَكُونَ بَيْنَكُمْ شَرٌّ
