[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ would only come to her walking, going and coming back.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ لَا يَأْتِيهَا إِلَّا مَاشِيًا ذَاهِبًا وَرَاجِعًا
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ would only come to her walking, going and coming back.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ لَا يَأْتِيهَا إِلَّا مَاشِيًا ذَاهِبًا وَرَاجِعًا
‘Abd Allaah bin Umar said “The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ entered the Ka’bah and along with him entered Usamah bin Zaid, Uthman bin Talhah Al Hajabi and Bilal. He then closed the door and stayed there. ‘Abd Allah bin ‘Umar said “I asked Bilal when he came out What did the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ do (there)? He replied “He stood with a pillar on his left, two pillars on his right, and three pillars behind him. At that time the House (the Ka’bah) stood on six pillars. He then prayed. أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ الْحَجَبِيُّ فَأَغْلَقَهَا عَلَيْهِ فَمَكَثَ فِيهَا قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ سَأَلْتُ بِلَالًا حِينَ خَرَجَ مَاذَا صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ جَعَلَ عَمُودًا عَنْ يَسَارِهِ وَعَمُودَيْنِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَثَلَاثَةَ أَعْمِدَةٍ وَرَاءَهُ وَكَانَ الْبَيْتُ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى سِتَّةِ أَعْمِدَةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَبَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْجِدَارِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَذْرُعٍ
That the Messenger of Allah stopped in the valley that is in Dhul-Hulaifah and prayed there. (sahih) (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2661)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَاخَ بِالْبَطْحَاءِ الَّتِي بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ فَصَلَّى بِهَا
[Machine] Abdullah used to take rest in the sandy area near Dhi al-Hulayfah, where the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to take rest and pray.
أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ كَانَ يُنِيخُ بِالْبَطْحَاءِ الَّتِي بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ الَّتِي كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُنِيخُ بِهَا وَيُصَلِّي بِهَا
[Machine] A man asked Ibn Umar while walking in Mina, "I vowed to fast every Tuesday or Wednesday. And it happens to be today, the day of sacrifice. What do you think?" He replied, "Allah has commanded the fulfillment of vows, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has prohibited us from fasting on the day of sacrifice." The man thought he did not hear correctly, so he said, "I vowed to fast every Tuesday or Wednesday and it happens to be today, the day of sacrifice." He replied, "Allah has commanded the fulfillment of vows, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has prohibited us from fasting on the day of sacrifice." He did not say anything further until he reached the mountain.
سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ ابْنَ عُمَرَ وَهُوَ يَمْشِي بِمِنًى فَقَالَ نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَصُومَ كُلَّ يَوْمِ ثُلَاثَاءَ أَوْ أَرْبِعَاءَ فَوَافَقْتُ هَذَا الْيَوْمَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِفَمَا تَرَى؟ قَالَ أَمَرَ اللهُ تَعَالَى بِوَفَاءِ النَّذْرِ وَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَوْ قَالَ نُهِينَا أَنْ نَصُومَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ قَالَ فَظَنَّ الرَّجُلُ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ فَقَالَ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَصُومَ كُلَّ يَوْمِ ثُلَاثَاءَ أَوْ أَرْبِعَاءَ فَوَافَقْتُ هَذَا الْيَوْمَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ فَقَالَ أَمَرَ اللهُ بِوَفَاءِ النَّذْرِ وَنَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَوْ قَالَ نُهِينَا أَنْ نَصُومَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ قَالَ فَمَا زَادَهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ حَتَّى أَسْنَدَ فِي الْجَبَلِ
I was present with Ibn ʿUmar at Minah. He passed a man who was sacrificing his camel while it was sitting. He said make it stand and tie its leg ; thus follow the practice (sunnah) of Muhammad (SWAS). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1768)
ابْعَثْهَا قِيَامًا مُقَيَّدَةً سُنَّةَ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ
[Machine] To have the year between people as a year of conflict, so stay away from the house. If you stay, then he said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has left. So the disbelievers of Quraysh have positioned themselves between him and the house. If an agreement is reached between me and him, I will do as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did. He said, "Indeed in the Messenger of Allah, you have a good example." [Al-Ahzab 21] He said, "Indeed I have obligated a umrah, then he set out until when he reached the outskirts. He said, I do not see their affair except as one, I bear witness to you that I have obligated a hajj with my umrah. Then he approached them and performed tawaf for both at once."
أَنْ يَكُونَ الْعَامَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ قِتَالٌ فَتُصَدَّ عَنِ الْبَيْتِ فَلَوْ أَقَمْتَ؟ فَقَالَ قَدْ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَحَالَ كُفَّارُ قُرَيْشٍ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْبَيْتِ فَإِنْ يُحَلْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ أَفْعَلْ كَمَا فَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ {لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ} [الأحزاب 21] قَالَ إِنِّي قَدْ أَوْجَبْتُ عُمْرَةً ثُمَّ سَارَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِالْبَيْدَاءِ قَالَ مَا أَرَى أَمْرَهُمَا إِلَّا وَاحِدًا أُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنِّي قَدْ أَوْجَبْتُ مَعَ عُمْرَتِي حَجًّا ثُمَّ قَدِمَ فَطَافَ لَهُمَا طَوَافًا وَاحِدًا
"I had a dream in which I saw as if there was a piece of silk in my hand, and I would not gesture to any place in Paradise except that it would fly with me, (taking me) to it. So I told the dream to Hafsah, so she told it to the Prophet ﷺ, so he said: 'Indeed, your brother is a righteous man,' or 'Indeed, 'Abdullah is a righteous man.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3825)
كَأَنَّ بِيَدِي قِطْعَةَ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ وَلَا أُشِيرُ بِهَا إِلَى مَكَانٍ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ إِلَّا طَارَتْ بِي إِلَيْهِ فَقَصَّتْهَا حَفْصَةُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَخَاكِ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ أَوْ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ رَجُلٌ صَالِحٌ
Qaza’ah said Ibn ‘Umar told me “Come, I see off you as the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ saw me off. I entrust to Allaah your religion what you are responsible for and your final deeds.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2600)
لَهُ ادْنُ حَتَّى أُوَدِّعَكَ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوَدِّعُنَا فَيَقُولُ أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللهَ دِينَكَ وَأَمَانَتَكَ وَخَوَاتِيمَ عَمَلِكَ
Qaza’ah said Ibn ‘Umar told me “Come, I see off you as the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ saw me off. I entrust to Allaah your religion what you are responsible for and your final deeds.” (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2600)
لِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ أُوَدِّعُكَ كَمَا وَدَّعَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللهَ دِينَكَ وَأَمَانَتَكَ وَخَوَاتِيمَ عَمَلِكَ
[Machine] "From his father, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the selling of fruit with dates. Sufyan said: 'We have preserved the fruit with dates in this manner.' Zaid bin Thabit informed them that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted permission for such transactions."
عَنْ أَبِيهِ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ بَيْعِ الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ كَذَا حَفِظْنَا الثَّمَرِ بِالتَّمْرِ وَأَخْبَرَهُمْ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَخَّصَ فِي الْعَرَايَا
A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I am often betrayed in bargaining." The Prophet ﷺ advised him, "When you buy something, say (to the seller), 'No deception." The man used to say so afterwards. (Using translation from Bukhārī 2407)
رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنِّي أُخْدَعُ فِي الْبَيْعِ فَقَالَ إِذَا بَايَعْتَ فَقُلْ لَا خِلَابَةَ فَكَانَ الرَّجُلُ يَقُولُهُ
[Machine] Ibn Umar sent the messenger of Allah ﷺ to kill the dogs, so I was among those who were sent. We killed the dogs until we found a woman who came from the desert, so we killed her dog.
ابْنُ عُمَرَ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي قَتْلِ الْكِلَابِ فَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ بَعَثَ فَقَتَلْنَا الْكِلَابَ حَتَّى وَجَدْنَا امْرَأَةً قَدِمَتْ مِنَ الْبَادِيَةِ فَقَتَلْنَا كَلْبًا لَهَا
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The index finger is more severe on Satan than iron."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَهِيَ أَشَدُّ عَلَى الشَّيْطَانِ مِنَ الْحَدِيدِ يَعْنِي السَّبَّابَةَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If people knew what lies in solitude, I would find no traveler riding alone at night."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا فِي الْوَحْدَةِ مَا أَعْلَمُ لَمْ يَسِرْ رَاكِبٌ بِلَيْلٍ وَحْدَهُ أَبَدًا
[Machine] I went out with my father to meet the pilgrims and greet them before they become dirty.
خَرَجْتُ مَعَ أَبِي نَتَلَقَّى الْحَاجَّ فَنُسَلِّمُ عَلَيْهِمْ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَدَنَّسُوا
[Machine] That Abdullah divorced his wife while she was menstruating with one divorce during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Omar said, "O Messenger of Allah, Abdullah divorced his wife with one divorce while she was menstruating." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered him to take her back and keep her until she becomes pure, then she should have another menstruation period, and then he should wait until she becomes pure from her menstruation. If he wants to divorce her, he should divorce her after she becomes pure before having sexual intercourse with her. That is the waiting period that Allah ordered for divorced women. Abdullah, when asked about this, would say to someone who asked him, "If you divorced your wife once or twice, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered me to do so. But if you divorced her three times, then she is forbidden for you until she marries another man and you have gone against the command of Allah in divorcing your wife."
أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ تَطْلِيقَةً وَاحِدَةً عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ تَطْلِيقَةً وَاحِدَةً وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَأَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يُرَاجِعَهَا وَيُمْسِكَهَا حَتَّى تَطْهُرَ ثُمَّ تَحِيضَ عِنْدَهُ حَيْضَةً أُخْرَى ثُمَّ يُمْهِلَهَا حَتَّى تَطْهُرَ مِنْ حَيْضَتِهَا فَإِنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُطَلِّقَهَا فَلْيُطَلِّقْهَا حِينَ تَطْهُرُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُجَامِعَهَا فَتِلْكَ الْعِدَّةُ الَّتِي أَمَرَ اللهُ تَعَالَى أَنْ يُطَلَّقَ لَهَا النِّسَاءُ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ إِذَا سُئِلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ قَالَ لِأَحَدِهِمْ أَمَّا أَنْتَ طَلَّقْتَ امْرَأَتَكَ مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَمَرَنِي بِهَا فَإِنْ كُنْتَ طَلَّقْتَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَقَدْ حَرُمَتْ عَلَيْكَ حَتَّى تَنْكِحَ زَوْجًا غَيْرَكَ وَعَصَيْتَ اللهَ تَعَالَى فِيمَا أَمَرَكَ مِنْ طَلَاقِ امْرَأَتِكَ
[Machine] He heard Abu Huraira informed them in every prayer that what we hear from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we convey to you, and what is hidden from us, we keep it hidden from you. Ibn Bakr said, in every prayer there is recitation of the Quran.
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يُخْبِرُهُمْ فِي كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ يُقْرَأُ فَمَا أَسْمَعَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَسْمَعْنَاكُمْ وَمَا أَخْفَى عَلَيْنَا أَخْفَيْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ قَالَ ابْنُ بَكْرٍ فِي كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ قُرْآنٌ
"Abu Hurairah said: "In should be recitation in every prayer. What the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made us hear (by reciting out loud) we make you hear, and what he hid from us (by reciting silently) we hide from you.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 969)
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ فِي كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ يُقْرَأُ فَمَا أَسْمَعَنَارَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَسْمَعْنَاكُمْ وَمَا أَخْفَى مِنَّا أَخْفَيْنَا مِنْكُمْ
[Machine] "He heard the Qarraza, and he was one of the companions of Abu Hurayrah who claimed that he heard Abu Hurayrah say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whosoever wishes harm upon its people, meaning the city (referring to Medina), Allah will dissolve him as salt dissolves in water.'"
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْقَرَّاظَ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ يَزْعُمُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَرَادَ أَهْلَهَا بِسُوءٍ يَعْنِي الْمَدِينَةَ أَذَابَهُ اللهُ كَمَا يَذُوبُ الْمِلْحُ فِي الْمَاءِ
[Machine] "He heard Abu Abdullah Al-Qarraz screaming in the mosque, saying that Abu Hurairah told me that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever wishes harm upon the people of Medina, Allah will melt him like salt dissolves in water.'"
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ الْقَرَّاظَ يَصِيحُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَقُولُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَرَادَ أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ بِسُوءٍ أَذَابَهُ اللهُ كَمَا يَذُوبُ الْمِلْحُ فِي الْمَاءِ
[Machine] From Abu Abdullah Al-Agharr, similar to it.
عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَغَرِّ نَحْوَهُ
[Machine] Ibn Umar entered upon Yahya ibn Said and a young boy from his children who had tied a chicken and was throwing it. Ibn Umar walked towards the chicken, untied it, and then took it along with the boy. He said to Yahya, "Reprimand your boy for not allowing this bird to endure the killing, for indeed I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding the slaughter of an animal out of patience with it, whether it is a camel or otherwise. And if you want to slaughter it, then do so."
دَخَلَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ عَلَى يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ وَغُلَامٌ مِنْ بَنِيهِ رَابِطٌ دَجَاجَةً يَرْمِيهَا فَمَشَى إِلَى الدَّجَاجَةِ فَحَلَّهَا ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ بِهَا وَبِالْغُلَامِ وَقَالَ لِيَحْيَى ازْجُرُوا غُلَامَكُمْ هَذَا عَنْ أَنْ يَصْبِرَ هَذَا الطَّيْرَ عَلَى الْقَتْلِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْهَى أَنْ تُصْبَرَ بَهِيمَةٌ أَوْ غَيْرُهَا لِقَتْلٍ وَإِنْ أَرَدْتُمْ ذَبْحَهَا فَاذْبَحُوهَا
[Machine] "From Ibrahim ibn Salih, also known as Nuaim ibn Nahham, and he was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who named him Salih. He informed him that Abdullah ibn Umar said to Umar ibn Khattab, 'Propose to me the daughter of Salih.' Umar ibn Khattab said, 'He has orphans, and I do not prefer myself over them.' So Abdullah went to his uncle Zaid ibn Khattab to propose. Zaid went to Salih and said, 'Abdullah ibn Umar has sent me to propose to your daughter.' Salih said to me, 'He has orphans and I do not want to burden them with my own expenses.' I bear witness that I have married her to so-and-so.' The mother of the girl was inclined towards Abdullah ibn Umar. She approached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'O Prophet of Allah, Abdullah ibn Umar has proposed to my daughter, but her father married her off to someone in his absence, and he is an orphan.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a message to Salih and said, 'You have married off your daughter without consulting her?' Salih said, 'Yes, I consulted the women in themselves, and she is a virgin.' Salih said, 'I did this only so that Abdullah ibn Umar may believe her, for he has a share in my wealth equal to what I gave her.'
عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ وَاسْمُهُ الَّذِي يُعْرَفُ بِهِ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ النَّحَّامِ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَمَّاهُ صَالِحًا أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ اخْطُبْ عَلَيَّ ابْنَةَ صَالِحٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ لَهُ يَتَامَى وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لِيُؤْثِرَنَا عَلَيْهِمْ فَانْطَلَقَ عَبْدُ اللهِ إِلَى عَمِّهِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ لِيَخْطُبَ فَانْطَلَقَ زَيْدٌ إِلَى صَالِحٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَرْسَلَنِي إِلَيْكَ يَخْطُبُ ابْنَتَكَ فَقَالَ لِي يَتَامَى وَلَمْ أَكُنْ لِأُتْرِبَ لَحْمِي وَأَرْفَعَ لَحْمَكُمْ أُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنِّي قَدْ أَنْكَحْتُهَا فُلَانًا وَكَانَ هَوَى أُمِّهَا إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ فَأَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ خَطَبَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ابْنَتِي فَأَنْكَحَهَا أَبُوهَا يَتِيمًا فِي حَجْرِهِ وَلَمْ يُؤَامِرْهَا فَأَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى صَالِحٍ فَقَالَ أَنْكَحْتَ ابْنَتَكَ وَلَمْ تُؤَامِرْهَا؟ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ أَشِيرُوا عَلَى النِّسَاءِ فِي أَنْفُسِهِنَّ وَهِيَ بِكْرٌ فَقَالَ صَالِحٌ فَإِنَّمَا فَعَلْتُ هَذَا لِمَا يُصْدِقُهَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَإِنَّ لَهُ فِي مَالِي مِثْلَ مَا أَعْطَاهَا
Nafi' said: Ibn Umar made the call to prayer at Dajnan (a place between Mecca and Medina), on a cold and windy night. He added the words at the end of the call: "Lo! pray in your dwellings. Lo! pray in the dwellings." He then said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command the mu'adhdhin to announce, "Lo! pray in your dwellings." on a cold or rainy night during journey. فِي آخِرِ نِدَائِهِ أَلَا صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ أَلَا صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ أَلَا صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ إِذَا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةٌ بَارِدَةٌ أَوْ ذَاتُ مَطَرٍ أَوْ ذَاتُ رِيحٍ فِي السَّفَرِ أَلَا صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ
[Machine] "About Abu Maymuna"
عَنْ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ
[Machine] From Abu Hurairah, a group of women came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and they said, "O Messenger of Allah, we swear by Allah that we are unable to attend your gatherings due to the presence of men. Please set a day for us on which we can come to you." The Prophet ﷺ informed them of a specific house and told them to come on that day. They came to him on the appointed day. The Prophet ﷺ said to them, meaning that no woman gives birth to three children and raises them with proper care except that she enters Paradise. One woman asked if this applies to two children as well, and he replied, "Yes, even two."
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ جَاءَ نِسْوَةٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْنَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَاللهِ مَا نَقْدِرُ عَلَيْكَ فِي مَجْلِسِكَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ فَوَاعِدْنَا مِنْكَ يَوْمًا نَأْتِيكَ فِيهِ قَالَ مَوْعِدُكُنَّ بَيْتُ فُلَانٍ وَأَتَاهُنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَلِذَلِكَ الْمَوْعِدِ قَالَ فَكَانَ مِمَّا قَالَ لَهُنَّ يَعْنِي مَا مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ تُقَدِّمُ ثَلَاثًا مِنَ الْوَلَدِ تَحْتَسِبُهُنَّ إِلَّا دَخَلَتِ الْجَنَّةَ فَقَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْهُنَّ أَوِ اثْنَانِ؟ قَالَ أَوِ اثْنَانِ
[Machine] From Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the best of men's rows for prayer are the first and the worst are the last, and the best of women's rows are the last and the worst are the first.
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رِوَايَةً خَيْرُ صُفُوفِ الرِّجَالِ أَوَّلُهَا وَشَرُّهَا آخِرُهَا وَخَيْرُ صُفُوفِ النِّسَاءِ آخِرُهَا وَشَرُّ صُفُوفِ النِّسَاءِ أَوَّلُهَا
[Machine] Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray while standing, sitting, barefoot, and wearing shoes.
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا وَحَافِيًا وَمُنْتَعِلًا
[Machine] "And to his left side."
وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "It was said to the Messenger of Allah: 'Which woman is best?' He said: 'The one who makes him happy when he looks at her, obeys him when he commands her, and she does not go against his wishes with regard to herself nor her wealth.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3231)
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَيُّ النِّسَاءِ خَيْرٌ؟ قَالَ الَّذِي تَسُرُّهُ إِذَا نَظَرَ وَتُطِيعُهُ إِذَا أَمَرَ وَلَا تُخَالِفُهُ فِيمَا يَكْرَهُ فِينَفْسِهَا وَمَالِهِ
[Machine] "I saw Abu Huraira when we were young boys, approaching the Bedouins and saying, 'O Bedouin, we will sell to you.' He replied, 'Leave me alone and let him sell his merchandise.' Abu Huraira said, 'Indeed, the Messenger of Allah prohibited selling a present for a gift.'"
رَأَيْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ وَنَحْنُ غِلْمَانٌ نَجِيءُ الْأَعْرَابَ نَقُولُ يَا أَعْرَابِيُّ نَحْنُ نَبِيعُ لَكَ قَالَ دَعُوهُ فَلْيَبِعْ سِلْعَتَهُ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ يَبِيعَ حَاضِرٌ لِبَادٍ
[Machine] "Show me where you have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissing, so I can also kiss it." He said, "With his shirt." So he kissed his shirt collar."
أَرِنِي أُقَبِّلْ مِنْكَ حَيْثُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُ قَالَ فَقَالَ بِقَمِيصِهِ قَالَ فَقَبَّلَ سُرَّتَهُ
[Machine] "Show me where I can kiss you, as I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissing a piece of clothing, so he kissed his chest."
أَرِنِي أُقَبِّلْ مِنْكَ حَيْثُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُ قَالَ فَقَالَ بِقَمِيصِهِ قَالَ فَقَبَّلَ سُرَّتَهُ
[Machine] Abu Al-Qasim, ﷺ , was the leader of the first group and mentioned the narrative.
أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ أَوَّلُ زُمْرَةٍ وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
[Machine] I arrived in the city and I saw a circle near the pulpit of the Prophet ﷺ. So I asked and it was said to me, "Abu Hurairah." He said to me, "Who are you?" I said, "I am from the people of Yemen." He said, "I have heard my beloved, or he said, I have heard Abu Al-Qasim ﷺ saying, 'The faith is Yemeni and wisdom is Yemeni, they are the most tender-hearted people. And the harshness is among the mountains of Fadad and he pointed with his hand towards the East."
قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَرَأَيْتُ حَلْقَةً عِنْدَ مِنْبَرِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَسَأَلْتُ فَقِيلَ لِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ فَسَلَّمْتُ فَقَالَ لِي مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ؟ قُلْتُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ حِبِّي أَوْ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ يَقُولُ الْإِيمَانُ يَمَانٍ وَالْحِكْمَةُ يَمَانِيَةٌ هُمْ أَرَقُّ قُلُوبًا وَالْجَفَاءُ فِيالْفَدَّادِينَ أَصْحَابِ الْوَبَرِ وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ
[Machine] "From Abu Hurairah, similar to him."
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ مِثْلَهُ
[Machine] "Narrated Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ , like him."
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِالنَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِثْلَهُ
[Machine] "From Abu Bakr, the same as he."
عَنْ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ مِثْلَهُ
[Machine] "Narrated by Abu Hurairah, the Prophet ﷺ described it similarly."
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِثْلَهُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Hour (Day of Judgment) will not come until people are rained upon with a rain that does not reach the houses made of mud brick, but only reaches the houses made of hair."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُحَتَّى يُمْطَرَ النَّاسُ مَطَرًا لَا تُكِنُّ مِنْهُ بُيُوتُ الْمَدَرِ وَلَا تُكِنُّ مِنْهُ إِلَّا بُيُوتُ الشَّعَرِ
“A woman entered Hell because of a cat which she tied up and did not feed, or let it loose to eat of the vermin of the earth, until it died.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4256)
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ دَخَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّارَ فِي هِرَّةٍ رَبَطَتْهَا فَلَا هِيَ أَطْعَمَتْهَا وَلَا هِيَ أَرْسَلَتْهَا تَأْكُلُ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الْأَرْضِ حَتَّى مَاتَتْ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ ذَلِكَ أَنْ لَا يَتَّكِلَ رَجُلٌ وَلَا يَيْأَسَ رَجُلٌ
There came a person to the Prophet (may peace he upon him) ) from Banu Fazara and said: My wife has given birth to a child who is black, whereupon Allah's Apostle ﷺ said: Have you any camels? He said: Yes. He again said: What is this colour? He said: They are red. He said: Is there a dusky one among them? He said: Yes, there are dusky ones among them He said: How has it come about? He said: It is perhaps the strain to which it has reverted, whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: It is perhaps the strain to which he (the child) has reverted. (Using translation from Muslim 1500a)
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي فَزَارَةَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَإِنَّ امْرَأَتِي وَلَدَتْ غُلَامًا أَسْوَدَ قَالَ هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ إِبِلٍ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَمَا أَلْوَانُهَا؟ قَالَ حُمْرٌ قَالَ هَلْ فِيهَا أَوْرَقُ؟ قَالَ إِنَّ فِيهَا لَوُرْقًا قَالَ أَنَّى أَتَاهُ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ نَزَعَهُ عِرْقٌ قَالَ وَهَذَا عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ نَزَعَهُ عِرْقٌ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "The earth has been made a mosque and a means of purification for me." Sufyan said, "I heard this from Saeed, who heard it from Abu Huraira."
النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جُعِلَتْ لِي الْأَرْضُ مَسْجِدًا وَطَهُورًا قَالَ سُفْيَانُ أُرَاهُ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ
[Machine] From Abu Hurayrah, it is narrated: "Hurry with your funerals, for if it is righteous, you have delivered it (to its destination). And if it is otherwise, you have relieved yourselves of its burden. The Prophet ﷺ also said another time: 'Hasten with the funeral, for if it is righteous, you bring it forward (to its destination).
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رِوَايَةً أَسْرِعُوا بِجَنَائِزِكُمْ فَإِنْ كَانَ صَالِحًا قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ إِلَيْهِ وَإِنْ كَانَ سِوَى ذَلِكَ فَشَرٌّ تَضَعُونَهُ عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجِنَازَةِ فَإِنْ تَكُ صَالِحَةً خَيْرٌ تُقَدِّمُوهَا إِلَيْهِ
The Prophet ﷺ as saying: Jews and Christians do not dye (their beards), so act differently from them. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4203)
النَّبِيَّ ﷺ إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى لَا يَصْبُغُونَ فَخَالِفُوهُمْ
"When any one of you wakes from sleep, let him not dip his hand in (the water he uses for) his Wudu' until he has washed it three times, for none of you knows where his hand spent the night." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1)
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رِوَايَةً إِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ فَلَا يَغْمِسْ يَدَهُ فِي إِنَائِهِ حَتَّى يَغْسِلَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي أَيْنَ بَاتَتْيَدُهُ
[Machine] Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ saw Al-Aqra kissing his child's forehead and said to me, "I have ten children, and I have never kissed any of them." So I said, "Verily, whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy."
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَبْصَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ الْأَقْرَعُ يُقَبِّلُ حَسَنًا فَقَالَ لِي عَشْرَةٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ قَطُّ قَالَ إِنَّهُ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ
[Machine] "Abu Huraira reported: When one of you yawns, let him put his hand over his mouth."
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ يَرْفَعُهُ إِذَا تَثَاءَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ يَضَعُ يَدَهُ عَلَى فِيهِ
[Machine] "Narrated by Abu Hurairah: A man from the people of Jurad (a tribe) was sent to Ayub (Job) with a handful of golden grasshoppers. He began to collect them in his garment. It was said to him, 'O Ayub! Has what we have given you not sufficed you?' He said, 'Oh my Lord, who can ever be independent of your grace?'"
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أُرْسِلَ عَلَى أَيُّوبَ رِجْلٌ مِنْ جَرَادٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ فَجَعَلَ يَقْبِضُهَا فِي ثَوْبِهِ فَقِيلَ يَا أَيُّوبُ أَلَمْ يَكْفِكَ مَا أَعْطَيْنَاكَ؟ قَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ وَمَنْ يَسْتَغْنِي عَنْ فَضْلِكَ
