Narrated Nafi', 'Whenever Ibn 'Umar finished his morning Salat at Dhul-Hulaifa he would get his Rahila (mount) prepared. Then, he would ride on it, and after it had stood up straight (ready to set out), he would face Al-Qiblah (the Ka,bah at Makkah) while sitting (on his mount) and recite Talbiya. When he had reached the boundaries of the Haram (or Makkah), he would stop recitation of Talbiya till he reached Dhi-Tuwa (near Makkah) where he would pass the night till it was dawn. After offering the morning Salat, he would take a bath. He claimed that Messenger of Allah ﷺ had done the same.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ
O son of al-Akwa', you have turned apostate and have come to live again in the desert with the Bedouins (after your migration). He said: No, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has permitted me to live in the desert.
لاَ وَلَكِنْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَذِنَ لِي فِي الْبَدْوِ
Nafi' said: Ibn Umar used to lengthen his prayer before the Friday prayer and would offer two rak'ahs after it in his house. He used to say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would do that.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ

Nafi’ said “Ibn ‘Umar used to nap for a short while at Batha’ (i.e, Al Muhassab) and then enter Makkah.” He thought that Apostle of Allaah ﷺ used to do so.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ
The Prophet ﷺ said to him: My sonny. Abu Dawud said: I heard Yahya b. Ma'in praising the transmitter Muhammad b. Mahbub, and he said: He transmitted a large number of traditions.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ يَا بُنَىَّ
The Prophet ﷺ addressed me as: O you with the two ears.
لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا ذَا الأُذُنَيْنِ
"Sa'eed bin Jubair led us in prayer in Jam'. (He prayed) Maghrib, three Rak'ahs with an Iqamah, then he prayed 'Isha', two Rak'ahs. Then he mentioned that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar had done that, and he mentioned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had done that."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ
Ibn Umar used to pray witr on his camel and he mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ used to do that.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ
Abdulla bin Umar used to walk rapidly for three (rounds), and walk for four, and he said that the Messenger of Allah used to do that.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ
Abdullah bin Umar used to walk rapidly in three rounds of his Tawaf when he came for Hajj or Umrah, and walk (at a normal pace) in four. He said: "The Messenger of Allah used to do that."
وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ
O son of Al-Akwa, you have turned on your heels (i.e., deserted Islam) by staying in the desert with the Bedouins." He said: "No; the Messenger of Allah gave me permission to stay in the desert with the Bedouins.
لاَ وَلَكِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَذِنَ لِي فِي الْبُدُوِّ
It was narrated from ‘Alqamah that Ibn Mas’ud prostrated twice for the prostrations of forgetfulness after the Salam, and he mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ did that.”
