Jabir b. Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them) reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ having forbidden the renting of land.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ كِرَاءِ الأَرْضِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنْ كَسْبِ الْإِمَاءِ
