I came to the Prophet ﷺ wearing a poor garment and he said (to me): Have you any property? He replied: Yes. He asked: What kind is it? He said: Allah has given me camels. Sheep, horses and slaves. He then said: When Allah gives you property, let the mark of Allah's favour and honour to you be seen.

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي ثَوْبٍ دُونٍ فَقَالَ أَلَكَ مَالٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ مِنْ أَىِّ الْمَالِ قَالَ قَدْ أَتَانِيَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الإِبِلِ وَالْغَنَمِ وَالْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ قَالَ فَإِذَا أَتَاكَ اللَّهُ مَالاً فَلْيُرَ أَثَرُ نِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ وَكَرَامَتِهِ

That he came to the Prophet [SAW] wearing shabby clothes. The Prophet [SAW] said to him: "Do you have any wealth?" He said: "Yes, all kinds of wealth." He said: "What kinds of wealth?" He said: "Allah has given me camels, cattle, sheep, horses and slaves." He said: "If Allah has given you wealth, then let the effect of Allah's blessing and generosity be seen on you."

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي ثَوْبٍ دُونٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَلَكَ مَالٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَالَ مِنْ أَىِّ الْمَالِ قَالَ قَدْ آتَانِيَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الإِبِلِ وَالْغَنَمِ وَالْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ قَالَ فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ مَالاً فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ أَثَرُ نِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ وَكَرَامَتِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw me and noticed that I was wearing good clothes. He asked, "Do you have wealth?" I replied, "Yes." He then asked, "From what type of wealth?" I answered, "From all types of wealth that Allah has bestowed upon me, such as sheep and camels." He said, "May the blessings and generosity of Allah be upon you. Remember, and narrate, what happened to Shu'bah."

رَآنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيَّ أَطْمَارٌ فَقَالَ هَلْ لَكَ مَالٌ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ مِنْ أَيِّ الْمَالِ؟ قُلْتُ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ ﷻ مِنَ الشَّاءِ وَالْإِبِلِ قَالَ فَلْتُرَ نِعَمُ اللهِ وَكَرَامَتُهُ عَلَيْكَ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ شُعْبَةَ

[AI] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was wearing a worn-out cloak. He said, "Do you have any wealth?" I said, "Yes." He asked, "From what?" I said, "From all kinds of wealth, from camels, slaves, horses, and sheep." He said, "If Allah gives you wealth, let Him see it on you." Then he said, "Do you have breeding camels?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Those which have healthy ears?" I said, "Yes." He said, "Then go to Musa (Moses) and learn from him what is lawful and unlawful for you regarding them." I said, "Yes." He said, "Then whatever Allah gives you, and whatever Moses teaches you, consider them both as good." I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Suppose I do not find him?" He said, "Then, act on what he did and send it (the charity, etc.) to the poor, for that is included in what has been said to you."

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا قَشِفُ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ هَلْ لَكَ مَالٌ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ مِنْ أَيِّ الْمَالِ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ وَالْخَيْلِ وَالْغَنَمِ فَقَالَ إِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَلْ تُنْتِجُ إِبِلُ قَوْمِكَ صِحَاحًا آذَانُهَا فَتَعْمَدُ إِلَى مُوسَى فَتَقْطَعُ آذَانَهَا فَتَقُولُ هَذِهِ بُحُرٌ وَتَشُقُّهَا أَوْ تَشُقُّ جُلُودَهَا وَتَقُولُ هَذِهِ صُرُمٌ وَتُحَرِّمُهَا عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى أَهْلِكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَإِنَّ مَا آتَاكَ اللهُ ﷻ لَكَ وَسَاعِدُ اللهِ أَشَدُّ وَمُوسَى اللهِ أَحَدُّ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ سَاعِدُ اللهِ أَشَدُّ مِنْ سَاعِدِكَ وَمُوسَى اللهِ أَحَدُّ مِنْ مُوسَاكَ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا نَزَلْتُ بِهِ فَلَمْيُكْرِمْنِي وَلَمْ يَقْرِنِي ثُمَّ نَزَلَ بِي أَجْزِيهِ بِمَا صَنَعَ أَمْ أَقْرِيهِ ؟ قَالَ اقْرِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do you have any wealth?" He said, "Yes, Allah has given me wealth in the form of camels, horses, and slaves." He said, "When Allah bestows goodness upon you, let it be seen on you."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ ﷻ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَمِنَ الْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ قَالَ فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ ﷻ خَيْرًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ

[AI] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a garment or two garments on me, and he asked me, "Do you have any wealth?" I said, "Yes, Allah has given me from all His wealth, from his horses and camels, and sheep and slaves." He said, "So when Allah has given you wealth, let his blessings be seen upon you." I rejoiced in it, wearing it with pride.

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَعَلَيَّ شَمْلَةٌ أَوْ شَمْلَتَانِ فَقَالَ لِي هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ ﷻ مِنْ كُلِّ مَالِهِ مِنْ خَيْلِهِ وَإِبِلِهِ وَغَنَمِهِ وَرَقِيقِهِ فَقَالَ فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا فَلْيَرَ عَلَيْكَ نِعْمَتَهُ فَرُحْتُ إِلَيْهِ فِي حُلَّةٍ

[AI] "I came to the Prophet ﷺ while I was in a disheveled state and he said, 'Do you have any wealth?' I said, 'Yes.' He asked, 'Of what kind?' I said, 'Of all kinds, including camels, slaves, horses, and sheep.' He said, 'If Allah gives you wealth, let it be seen on you.' Then he said, 'Your people's camels will produce healthy offspring, so intentionally go to the one that belongs to Moosa and sever its ears, declaring it to be a Bahira, and slit its hump or cut its skin, declaring it to be a Surma, and thus prohibit it for you and your family?' I said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Whatever Allah has given you is lawful, and Moosa repelled an act of aggression from Allah worse than what you did, and Moosa is no better than you.' I asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about a man whom I visited, but he did not honor me nor host me, but then he was visited by me and I honored and hosted him?' He said, 'You should honor him.'"

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَأَنَا قَشِفُ الْهَيْئَةِ قَالَ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «مِنْ أَيِّ الْمَالِ؟» قُلْتُ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ وَالْخَيْلِ وَالْغَنَمِ قَالَ «فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «تُنْتِجُ إِبِلُ قَوْمِكَ صِحَاحَ آذَانِهَا فَتَعْمَدُ إِلَى الْمُوسَى فَتَقْطَعُ آذَانَهَا فَتَقُولُ هَذِهِ بَحِيرَةٌ وَتَشُقُّهَا أَوْ تَشُقُّ جُلُودَهَا وَتَقُولُ هَذِهِ صُرُمٌ فَتُحَرِّمُهَا عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى أَهْلِكَ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَإِنَّ مَا أَعْطَاكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ حِلٌّ مُوسَى اللَّهِ أَحَدُّ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ سَاعِدُ اللَّهِ أَشَدُّ مِنْ سَاعِدِكَ وَمُوسَى اللَّهِ أَحَدُّ مِنْ مُوسَاكَ» قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا نَزَلْتُ بِهِ فَلَمْ يُكْرِمْنِي وَلَمْ يُقْرِنِي ثُمَّ نَزَلَ بِي أُجْزِيهِ كَمَا صَنَعَ أَوْ أُقْرِيهِ؟ قَالَ «أَقْرِهِ»

[AI] "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while I was in rags. He asked, 'Do you have any wealth?' I replied, 'Yes.' He asked, 'What kind of wealth?' I said, 'All kinds, Allah has blessed me with camels, slaves, and sheep.' He said, 'When Allah bestows wealth upon you, let it be apparent.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, what if a man comes to live with me and does not show me any kindness or conjoin me, but when he leaves, he compensates me for what he has done?' He replied, 'No, refuse it.' Abu Al-Ahwas Awf bin Malik bin Nadlah was his father, and he was a companion."

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا قَشِفُ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالُ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟ » فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «مِنْ أَيِّ مَالٍ؟ » قُلْتُ مِنْ كُلٍّ قَدْ آتَانِيَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ وَالْغَنَمِ قَالَ «إِذَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ» قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا نَزَلْتُ بِهِ فَلَمْ يُكْرِمْنِي وَلَمْ يَقْرِنِي فَنَزَلَ بِي أَجْزِيهِ بِمَا صَنَعَ؟ قَالَ «لَا بَلْ أَقْرِهِ» « أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَوْفُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ نَضْلَةَ أَبُوهُ مِنَ الصَّحَابَةِ»

[AI] He came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in a disheveled state and asked, "Do you have any wealth?" He replied, "Yes, I have been given wealth in the form of camels, cows, and sheep, by Allah." He said, "Whoever has wealth should spend from it."

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ رَثُّ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» قَالَ بَلَى مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْبَقَرِ وَالْغَنَمِ قَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw Ali with dates and said, "Do you have any money?" I said, "Yes." He asked, "What type of money?" I replied, "All types, Allah has given me." He then said, "So be grateful for the blessings and favors of Allah upon you."

رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلِيَّ أَطْمَارًا فَقَالَ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «مِنْ أَيِّ الْمَالِ؟» قُلْتُ مِنْ كُلٍّ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ قَالَ «فَلْتُرَ نِعْمَةُ اللهِ وَكَرَامَتُهُ عَلَيْكَ»

[AI] I came to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , as a delegate of my people. He asked, "Do you have any wealth?" I replied, "Yes." He asked, "What kind of wealth?" I said, "I have been given by Allah camels, horses, slaves, and sheep." He said, "When Allah gives you wealth, let it be seen on you."

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا قَشِفُ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ «مِنْ أَيِّ الْمَالِ؟» فَقُلْتُ مِنْ كُلٍّ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ وَالْغَنَمِ قَالَ «إِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ ﷻ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ»

[AI] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a poor person and he said, "Do you have any wealth?" I said, "Yes." He asked me, "From which type of wealth?" I replied, "From all types, Allah has given me camels, horses, slaves, and sheep." He said, "When Allah gives you wealth, let it be seen on you."

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَا قَشِفُ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ «مِنْ أَيِّ الْمَالِ؟» فَقُلْتُ مِنْ كُلٍّ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ وَالْغَنَمِ قَالَ «إِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ ﷻ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ»

[AI] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and he saw me in a bad state. He asked me, "Do you have any wealth?" I said, "Yes, I have been given wealth by Allah from camels, cows, horses, and slaves." He said, "When Allah gives you something good, let the blessings and kindness of Allah be upon you."

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَرَآنِي سَيِّيءَ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ لِي «هَلْ عِنْدَكَ مَالٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْبَقَرِ وَالْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ قَالَ «فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ خَيْرًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ نِعْمَةُ اللهِ وَكَرَامَتُهُ عَلَيْكَ»

[AI] I went to the Prophet ﷺ and he saw me in a bad condition. He asked me, "Do you have any wealth?" I said, "Yes, Allah has granted me wealth of camels, cows, horses, and slaves." He said, "When Allah gives you good, let the favor and honor of Allah be upon you."

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَرَآنِي سَيِّيءَ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ لِي «هَلْ عِنْدَكَ مَالٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْبَقَرِ وَالْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ قَالَ «فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ خَيْرًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ نِعْمَةُ اللهِ وَكَرَامَتُهُ عَلَيْكَ»

[AI] I went to the Prophet ﷺ and he saw me in a bad condition, so he said to me, "Do you have any wealth?" I said, "Yes, Allah has granted me wealth in the form of camels, cows, horses, and slaves." He said, "When Allah gives you good, let the blessings and honor of Allah be upon you."

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَرَآنِي سَيِّيءَ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ لِي «هَلْ عِنْدَكَ مَالٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْبَقَرِ وَالْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ قَالَ «فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ خَيْرًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ نِعْمَةُ اللهِ وَكَرَامَتُهُ عَلَيْكَ»

[AI] He came to the Prophet ﷺ wearing a worn-out garment, and the Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Do you have any wealth?" He replied, "Yes, Allah has given me wealth from every type." The Prophet ﷺ asked, "From which type of wealth?" He replied, "Allah has given me wealth from horses and slaves." Then the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "If Allah has given you wealth, then let the traces of His blessings and generosity be evident on you."

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي ثَوْبٍ دُونٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَلَكَ مَالٌ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَالَ «مِنْ أَيِّ الْمَالِ؟» قَالَ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ أَثَرُ نِعْمَتِهِ وَكَرَامَتِهِ»

[AI] He came to the Prophet ﷺ wearing a garment that was below standard. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "Do you have any wealth?" He replied, "Yes, Allah has granted me wealth from all types of possessions." The Prophet ﷺ asked, "From which wealth?" He responded, "Allah has granted me wealth from horses and slaves." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "When Allah grants you wealth, let the traces of His blessings and generosity be visible upon you."

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي ثَوْبٍ دُونٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَلَكَ مَالٌ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَالَ «مِنْ أَيِّ الْمَالِ؟» قَالَ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ أَثَرُ نِعْمَتِهِ وَكَرَامَتِهِ»

[AI] He came to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) wearing a short garment, so the Prophet said to him, "Do you have any wealth?" He replied, "Yes, Allah has given me all kinds of wealth." The Prophet asked, "From which kind of wealth did Allah give it to you?" He replied, "Allah has given me horses and slaves." Then the Prophet said to him, "When Allah gives you wealth, let the traces of His blessings and generosity be apparent on you."

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي ثَوْبٍ دُونٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَلَكَ مَالٌ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَالَ «مِنْ أَيِّ الْمَالِ؟» قَالَ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ أَثَرُ نِعْمَتِهِ وَكَرَامَتِهِ»

[AI] My father entered upon the Prophet ﷺ wearing tattered clothes, so the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Do you have any wealth?" He replied, "I have been given wealth from all kinds of animals by Allah, such as camels, cows, and sheep." The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah bless what He has bestowed upon you."

دَخَلَ أَبِي عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي ثِيَابِ أَسْمَالٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» قَالَ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْبَقَرِ وَالْغَنَمِ قَالَ «فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ مَا آتَاكَ اللهُ»

[AI] My father entered upon the Prophet ﷺ wearing coarse clothing, so the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Do you have any wealth?" He replied, "I have been given all kinds of wealth by Allah, from camels, cows, and sheep." He said, "May blessings be upon what Allah has given you."

دَخَلَ أَبِي عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي ثِيَابِ أَسْمَالٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» قَالَ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْبَقَرِ وَالْغَنَمِ قَالَ «فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ مَا آتَاكَ اللهُ»

[AI] He came to the Prophet ﷺ and began to ask the Prophet ﷺ . When the Prophet ﷺ saw his bad appearance, he said, "Do you have any money?" He said, "Yes, Allah has given me all the money from camels, sheep, and horses." He (the Prophet) said, "When Allah gives you wealth, let it appear (be apparent) on you."

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَجَعَلَ يَسْأَلُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا رَأَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ سُوءَ هَيْئَتِهِ قَالَ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ كُلُّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْغَنَمِ وَالْخَيْلِ قَالَ «إِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ»

[AI] I entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I was in a poor state of appearance. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Do you have any wealth?" I replied, "Yes, Allah has bestowed upon me all kinds of wealth." He said, "If you have wealth, then let it be apparent on you."

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَإِنِّي سَيِّيءُ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ مَالٍ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ قَالَ «إِذَا كَانَ لَكَ مَالٌ فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ»

[AI] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and I was wearing Bedouin clothes. He asked me, "Do you have any wealth?" I replied, "All kinds of wealth have been given to me by Allah." He said, "When Allah gives you wealth, let the traces of Allah's blessings be seen on you."

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَفِيَّ أَعْرَابِيَّةٌ وَعَلِيَّ لِبَاسُ الْأَعْرَابِ فَقَالَ لِي «أَلَكَ مَالٌ؟» قَالَ قُلْتُ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ قَالَ «فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ أَثَرُ نِعْمَةِ اللهِ»

[AI] I came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and I was dressed in Arab clothing, so he asked me, "Do you have any money?" I replied, "I have been given all kinds of wealth by Allah." He then said, "When Allah blesses you with wealth, let the traces of Allah's blessings show."

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَفِيَّ أَعْرَابِيَّةٌ وَعَلِيَّ لِبَاسُ الْأَعْرَابِ فَقَالَ لِي «أَلَكَ مَالٌ؟» قَالَ قُلْتُ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ قَالَ «فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ أَثَرُ نِعْمَةِ اللهِ»

[AI] I came to the Prophet ﷺ and was dressed as an Arab, so he asked me, "Do you have any money?" I said, "I have been given wealth from all kinds of money by Allah." He said, "When Allah gives you wealth, let the traces of Allah's blessings appear."

أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَفِيَّ أَعْرَابِيَّةٌ وَعَلِيَّ لِبَاسُ الْأَعْرَابِ فَقَالَ لِي «أَلَكَ مَالٌ؟» قَالَ قُلْتُ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ قَالَ «فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ أَثَرُ نِعْمَةِ اللهِ»

[AI] I entered upon the Prophet ﷺ and 'Ali was wearing two garments. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you have any wealth?" I said, "Yes, Allah has bestowed upon me all kinds of wealth, including horses, camels, slaves, and sheep." He said, "If Allah has bestowed goodness upon you, then let it be seen on you."

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَعَلِيَّ خُلْقَانٌ مِنْ ثِيَابٍ فَقَالَ «لَكَ مَالٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ فَعَدَّ الْخَيْلَ وَالْإِبِلَ وَالرَّقِيقَ وَالْغَنَمَ قَالَ «إِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ خَيْرًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ»

[AI] I entered upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Ali was there wearing two garments. The Prophet asked, "Do you have any wealth?" I said, "Yes, I have been given all kinds of wealth by Allah." Then he pointed to the horses, camels, slaves, and sheep and said, "When Allah gives you good, let it be seen on you."

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَعَلِيَّ خُلْقَانٌ مِنْ ثِيَابٍ فَقَالَ «لَكَ مَالٌ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ فَعَدَّ الْخَيْلَ وَالْإِبِلَ وَالرَّقِيقَ وَالْغَنَمَ قَالَ «إِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ خَيْرًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ»

[AI] "He came to the Prophet ﷺ in a disheveled appearance. The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Do you have any wealth?' He said, 'Yes.' The Prophet ﷺ asked, 'What wealth do you have?' He replied, 'Camels, horses, and slaves.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'When Allah gives you wealth or goodness, then let it be visible upon you. Indeed, when Allah honors a servant, He loves to see the signs of His honor upon him.'"

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَشِفَ الْهَيْئَةِ سَيِّيءَ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ لَكَ مَالٌ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «مَا مَالُكَ؟» قَالَ إِبِلٌ وَخَيْلٌ وَرَقِيقٌ قَالَ فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا أَوْ قَالَ خَيْرًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ إِذَا أَكْرَمَ عَبْدًا أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَرَى كَرَامَتَهُ عَلَيْهِ

[AI] He came to the Prophet ﷺ in a bad state and appearance, so he said, "Do you have any wealth?" He said, "Yes." He said, "What is your wealth?" He said, "Camels, horses, and slaves." He said, "When Allah gives you wealth or goodness, then let it be seen on you, for when Allah honors a servant, He loves to show his blessings upon him."

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَشِفَ الْهَيْئَةِ سَيِّيءَ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ لَكَ مَالٌ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «مَا مَالُكَ؟» قَالَ إِبِلٌ وَخَيْلٌ وَرَقِيقٌ قَالَ فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا أَوْ قَالَ خَيْرًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ إِذَا أَكْرَمَ عَبْدًا أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَرَى كَرَامَتَهُ عَلَيْهِ

[AI] He came to the Prophet with a bad appearance and the Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you have any wealth?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet asked, "What is your wealth?" He replied, "Camels, horses, and slaves." The Prophet said, "If Allah gives you wealth or goodness, then let it be seen on you, for when Allah honors a servant, He loves to see the signs of His honor on him."

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَشِفَ الْهَيْئَةِ سَيِّيءَ الْهَيْئَةِ فَقَالَ «هَلْ لَكَ مَالٌ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «مَا مَالُكَ؟» قَالَ إِبِلٌ وَخَيْلٌ وَرَقِيقٌ قَالَ فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا أَوْ قَالَ خَيْرًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ فَإِنَّ اللهَ إِذَا أَكْرَمَ عَبْدًا أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَرَى كَرَامَتَهُ عَلَيْهِ

That he came to the Prophet [SAW] wearing shabby clothes. The Prophet [SAW] said to him: "Do you have any wealth?" He said: "Yes, all kinds of wealth." He said: "What kinds of wealth?" He said: "Allah has given me camels, cattle, sheep, horses and slaves." He said: "If Allah has given you wealth, then let the effect of Allah's blessing and generosity be seen on you." أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فِي ثَوْبٍ دُونٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَلَكَ مَالٌ؟» قَالَ مِنْ كُلِّ الْمَالِ قَالَ «مِنْ أَيِّ الْمَالِ؟» قَالَ قَدْ آتَانِي اللهُ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ وَالْغَنَمِ وَالْخَيْلِ وَالرَّقِيقِ قَالَ «فَإِذَا آتَاكَ اللهُ مَالًا فَلْيُرَ عَلَيْكَ أَثَرُ نِعْمَةِ اللهِ وَكَرَامَتُهُ»
