١٩۔ بَابُ الْعَيْنِ ص ٢٥
19.4.378 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٣٧٨ أَبُو الْخَيْرِ مَرْثَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْيَزَنِيُّ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Who will inform us where our she-camel is?" A man stood up and said, "I will." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "What is your name?" He replied, "Sakhr or Jandal." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ told him to sit down. Then he said, "Who will inform us where our she-camel is?" Another man stood up and said, "I will." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "What is your name?" He replied, "Yaish." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Inform us where our she-camel is."
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ يُبَلِّغُنَا أَيْنَ لِقَاحُنَا؟» فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ أَنَا فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا اسْمُكَ؟» قَالَ صَخْرٌ أَوْ جَنْدَلٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اجْلِسْ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَنْ يُبَلِّغُنَا أَيْنَ لِقَاحُنَا؟» فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ أَنَا فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا اسْمُكَ؟» قَالَ يَعِيشُ قَالَ «بَلِّغْنَا أَيْنَ لِقَاحُنَا»
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs from among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone. So when you see that, hasten to perform the prayer.'"
رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَافْزَعُوا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ»
“Do not force your sick ones to eat or drink. Allah will feed them and give them to drink.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3444)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا تُكْرِهُوا مَرْضَاكُمْ عَلَى الطَّعَامِ فَإِنَّ اللهَ يُطْعِمُهُمْ وَيَسْقِيهِمْ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I not inform you of the best of your workers and the worst of them?" They said, "Of course, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "The best of them for you are those whom you love and who love you, and you pray to Allah for them and they pray to Allah for you. And the worst of them are those whom you dislike and who dislike you, and you invoke Allah against them and they invoke Allah against you." They said, "Should we not fight them, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Leave them as long as they observe fasting and prayer."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخِيَارِ عُمَّالِكُمْ وَشِرَارِهِمْ؟» قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «فَإِنَّ خِيَارَهُمْ لَكُمْ مَنْ تُحِبُّونَهُ وَيُحِبُّكُمْ وَتَدْعُونَ اللهَ لَهُمْ وَيَدْعُونَ اللهَ لَكُمْ وَشِرَارُهُمْ شِرَارُهُمْ لَكُمْ مَنْ تُبْغِضُونَهُمْ وَيُبْغِضُونَكُمْ وَتَدْعُونَ اللهَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَدْعُونَ اللهَ عَلَيْكُمْ» فَقَالُوا أَفَلَا نُقَاتِلُهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «لَا دَعُوهُمْ مَا صَامُوا وَصَلُّوا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you want to go to war, then buy a fast and saddled horse that is well-trained on the right side, for you will be safe and successful in spoils."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أنْ تَغْزُوَ فَاشْتَرِ فَرَسًا أَغَرَّ مُحَجَّلًا مُطْلَقَ الْيُمْنَى فَإِنَّكَ تَسْلَمُ وَتَغْنَمُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of the day, the evil of the night, the evil of the hour, the evil of those who do evil, and the evil of the neighbor in the abode."
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ يَوْمِ السَّوْءِ وَمِنْ لَيْلَةِ السَّوْءِ وَمِنْ سَاعَةِ السَّوْءِ وَمِنْ صَاحِبِ السَّوْءِ وَمِنْ جَارِ السَّوْءِ فِي دَارِ الْمُقَامَةِ»
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to recite Mu'awwidhatan (the last two surahs of the Qur'an) after every prayer. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1523)
«أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ أَقْرَأَ الْمُعَوِّذَاتِ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ»
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Recite the Mu'awwidhatain after every prayer."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «اقْرَءُوا الْمُعَوِّذَاتِ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to a man named Dhu al-Bijadayn, "Indeed, he is miserable." And that is because he used to frequently mention Allah through recitation of the Quran and supplication.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ ذُو الْبِجَادَيْنِ «إِنَّهُ أَوَّاهٌ» وَذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُكْثِرُ ذِكْرَ اللهِ بِالْقُرْآنِ وَالدُّعَاءِ
19.4.379 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٣٧٩ عَلِيُّ بْنُ رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, your lineages are not a cause for superiority over anyone. You are all children of Adam, and Adam was created from dust. If you fill a container, there is no favor of one person over another, except through religion or righteous deeds. It is sufficient for a person to be considered immoral, vulgar, stingy, or deceptive."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَنْسَابَكُمْ هَذِهِ لَيْسَتْ بِسِبَابٍ عَلَى أَحَدٍ وَإِنَّمَا أَنْتُمْ بَنُو آدَمَ طَفُّ الصَّاعِ إِنْ تَمْلَئُوهُ لَيْسَ لِأَحَدٍ عَلَى أَحَدٍ فَضْلٌ إلَّا بِدِينٍ أَوْ عَمَلٍ صَالِحٍْ حَسْبُ امْرِئٍ أنْ يَكُونَ فَاحِشًا بَذِيئًا بَخِيلًا حَلَّافًا»
[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said, "Indeed, the thing I fear most for my Ummah is milk and a book. As for milk, it will be opened for some groups, who will abandon the Friday prayer and congregational prayers. And as for the book, it will be opened for some groups, who will argue with it against those who believe."
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْكِتَابُ وَاللَّبَنُ فَأَمَّا اللَّبَنُ فَيُفْتَحُ لِأَقْوَامٍ فِيهِ فَيَتْرُكُونَ الْجُمُعَةَ وَالْجُمُعَاتِ وَأَمَّا الْكِتَابُ فَيُفْتَحُ لِأَقْوَامٍ فِيهِ فَيُجَادِلُونَ بِهِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا»
[Machine] I heard Uqbah bin Amir say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, the thing that I fear the most for my Ummah is milk and the Book." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the matter with milk?" He said, "They leave gatherings and abandon congregations." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is the matter with the Book?" He said, "It will be opened for certain people, and they will recite it and engage in argumentation with it."
سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ أَشَدَّ مَا أَخَافُ أَوْ أَخْوَفَ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي اللَّبَنُ وَالْكِتَابُ» فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا بَالُ اللَّبَنِ؟ قَالَ «يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْجَمَاعَاتِ وَيَتْرُكُونَ الْجُمُعَاتِ» قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَمَا بَالُ الْكِتَابِ؟ قَالَ «يُفْتَحُ لِأَقْوَامٍ فَيَقْرَءُونَهُ فَيُجَادِلُونَ بِهِ»
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Among my Ummah, there will be those who will be destroyed by the book and by milk." Uqbah bin Amir said, "I asked, 'Who are the people of the book?' He replied, 'They are a group who learn the book of Allah and then argue with it against those who believe.' I asked, 'Who are the people of milk, O Messenger of Allah?' He replied, 'They are a group who follow their desires and neglect their prayers.'"
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «سَيَهْلِكُ مِنْ أُمَّتِي فِي الْكِتَابِ وَاللَّبَنِ» قَالَ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ فَقُلْتُ وَمَا أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ؟ قَالَ «قَوْمٌ يَتَعَلَّمُونَ كِتَابَ اللهِ يُجَادِلُونَ بِهِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا» قُلْتُ وَمَا أَهْلُ اللَّبَنِ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «قَوْمٌ يَتَّبِعُونَ الشَّهَوَاتِ ويُضَيِّعُونَ الصَّلَوَاتِ»
19.4 Ikrimah from Abdullah b. Amr
١٩۔٤ بَابُ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو
أَبُو قَبِيلٍ حُيَيُّ بْنُ هَانِئٍ الْمَعَافِرِيُّ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ
[Machine] I heard Uqbah ibn Amir say that the Prophet ﷺ said, "The thing I fear most for my Ummah (nation) is two groups who will follow desires and personal inclinations, abandoning the Quran and prayers. The hypocrites will use knowledge against the people of knowledge."
سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ أَخْوَفُ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي اثْنَتَينِ يَتَّبِعُونَ الْآيَاتِ وَالشَّهَوَاتِ وَيَتْرُكُونَ الْقُرْآنَ وَالصَّلَوَاتِ أَنْ يَتَعَلَّمَهُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ يُجَادِلُونَ بِهِ أَهْلَ الْعِلْمِ
أَبُو الْمُصْعَبِ مِشْرَحُ بْنُ هَاعَانَ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ
[Machine] He heard Uqbah bin Amer Al-Juhani say, "It is written for every gesture that a man makes with his hand during prayer, with each finger being a good deed or a level."
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيَّ يَقُولُ «إِنَّهُ يُكْتَبُ فِي كُلِّ إِشَارَةٍ يُشِيرُهَا الرَّجُلُ بِيَدِهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ بِكُلِّ أُصْبُعٍ حَسَنَةٌ أَوْ دَرَجَةٌ»
19.4.382 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٣٨٢ خَالِدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ مِشْرَحِ بْنِ هَاعَانَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever hangs a talisman, Allah will not fulfill his desires, and whoever wears a charm, Allah will not complete his affairs for him."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ عَلَّقَ وَدَعَةً فَلَا وَدَعَ اللهُ وَمَنْ عَلَّقَ تَمِيمَةً فَلَا تَمَّمَ اللهُ لَهُ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Some people from my Ummah will emerge who will drink the Quran just as they drink milk."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «سَيَخْرُجُ أَقْوَامٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَشْرَبُونَ الْقُرْآنَ كُشُرْبِهِمُ اللَّبَنَ»
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If there were to be a prophet after me, it would be 'Umar."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْ كَانَ بَعْدِي نَبِيٌّ لَكَانَ عُمَرَ»
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The people of Yemen are more tender and gentle-hearted, and they have better hearing and obedience."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ أَرَقُّ وَأَلْيَنُ أَفْئِدَةً وَأَسْمَعُ طَاعَةً»
19.4 Ikrimah from Abdullah b. Amr
١٩۔٤ بَابُ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو
بَكْرُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ مِشْرَحِ بْنِ هَاعَانَ
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Filth comprises seventy parts, the barbarians have sixty-nine parts, and the jinn and mankind have one part."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْخَبَثُ سَبْعُونَ جُزْءًا لِلْبَرْبَرِ تِسْعَةٌ وَسِتُّونَ جُزْءًا وَلِلْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ جُزْءٌ وَاحِدٌ»
19.4.384 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٣٨٤ اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ مِشْرَحٍ
that the Messenger of said: 'Shall I not tell you of a borrowed billy goat.” They said: “Yes, O Messenger of!” He said: “He is Muhallil. May curse the Muhallil and the Muhallal lahu.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1936)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِالتَّيْسِ الْمُسْتَعَارِ؟» قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ «هُوَ الْمُحَلِّلُ وَلَعَنَ اللهُ الْمُحَلِّلَ وَالْمُحَلَّلَ لَهُ»
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , that he said, "Whoever has three daughters, and he is patient with them, feeds them, gives them drink, and clothes them, they will be a shield for him from the Fire."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ ثَلَاثُ بَنَاتٍ فَصَبَرَ عَلَيْهِنَّ وَأَطْعَمَهُنَّ وَسَقَاهُنَّ وَكَسَاهُنَّ كُنَّ لَهُ حِجَابًا مِنَ النَّارِ»
19.4.386 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٣٨٦ حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُشَّانَةَ
[Machine] On the authority of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , he said, "Whoever has three daughters and endures with patience their upbringing, provides them with food and clothing, and treats them with kindness, will be shielded from the Hellfire."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «مَنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ ثَلَاثُ بَنَاتٍ فَصَبَرَ عَلَيْهِنَّ فَأَطْعَمَهُنَّ وَسَقَاهُنَّ وَكَسَاهُنَّ كُنَّ لَهُ حِجَابًا مِنَ النَّارِ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever experiences the weight of three hardships due to his commitment, he will be rewarded by Allah." Abu Ushana also said once in the way of Allah, and he did not say it again, "Paradise is obligatory for him."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ أَثْكَلَ ثَلَاثَةً مِنْ صُلْبِهِ فَاحْتَسَبَهُمْ عَلَى اللهِ» وَقَالَ أَبُو عُشَّانَةَ مَرَّةً فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ وَلَمْ يَقُلْهَا أُخْرَى – «وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ»
[Machine] From the Prophet, ﷺ , he said, "Whoever has three daughters and is patient with them, then they will be a veil for him from the Fire."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ كُنَّ لَهُ ثَلَاثُ بَنَاتٍ فَصَبَرَ عَلَيْهِنَّ كُنَّ لَهُ سِتْرًا مِنَ النَّارِ»
[Machine] "On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: 'Whoever performs ablution and then gathers his clothes and goes to the mosque, for every step he takes, he will receive ten rewards. And a person remains in prayer as long as he waits for the prayer, and they will be recorded among the worshippers from the moment they leave their house until they return.'"
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَجَمَعَ ثِيَابَهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ كَتَبَ لَهُ كَاتِبُهُ بِكُلِّ خَطْوَةٍ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ وَالْمَرْءُ فِي صَلَاةٍ مَا كَانَ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُكْتَبُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينَ مِنْ حَيْثُ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever attributes to me what I have not said, let him take his place in the Hellfire."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قَالَ عَلَيَّ مَا لَمْ أَقُلْ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ بَيْتًا فِي جَهَنَّمَ»
"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Your Lord is pleased with a shepherd high in the mountains who calls the Adhan for the prayer and prays. Allah says: 'Look at this slave of Mine; he calls the Adhan and Iqamah for the prayer and fears Me. I have forgiven My slave and admitted him to Paradise.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 666)
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ يَعْجَبُ رَبُّكَ مِنْ رَاعِي غَنَمٍ فِي رَأْسِ الشُّفْعَةِ مِنَ الْجَبَلِ يُؤَذِّنُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَيُصَلِّي فَيَقُولُ اللهُ ﷻ انْظُرُوا إِلَى عَبْدِي هَذَا يُؤَذِّنُ وَيُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ مَخَافَتِي قَدْ غَفَرْتُ لِعَبْدِي وَأَدْخَلْتُهُ الْجَنَّةَ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sun will come close to the earth on the Day of Judgment, and people will sweat. Among them are those whose sweat reaches their ankles, and others whose sweat reaches their knees, and some whose sweat reaches their hips, and others whose sweat reaches their shoulders, and others whose sweat reaches their ears, and others whose sweat covers them completely." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then pointed to his fingers and held them between his lips, and said, "And among them are those who are submerged in their sweat."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَدْنُو الشَّمْسُ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيَعْرَقُ النَّاسُ فَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ عَرَقُهُ كَعْبَيْهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ إِلَى نِصْفِ السَّاقِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ إِلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ الْعَجُزَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ الْخَاصِرَةَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ حَلْقَهُ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُلْجِمُهُ» وَأَشَارَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَجَمَعَ أَصَابِعَهُ بَيْنَ شَفَتَيْهِ قَالَ «وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَغْمُرُهُ»
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to tell his wives not to wear jewelry and silk. He said: "If you want the jewelry and silk of Paradise, then do not wear them in this world." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 5136)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَمْنَعُ أَهْلَهُ الْحِلْيَةَ وَالْحَرِيرَ وَيَقُولُ «إنْ كُنْتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ حِلْيَةَ الْجَنَّةِ وَحَرِيرَهَا فَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا فِي الدُّنْيَا»
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Among the first disputants on the Day of Judgement will be two neighbors." (Using translation from Aḥmad 17372)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَوَّلُ خَصْمَيْنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ جَارَانِ»
19.4 Ikrimah from Abdullah b. Amr
١٩۔٤ بَابُ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو
عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ أَبِي عُشَّانَةَ
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "People are of three types: the one who is safe, the one who gains, and the one who loses."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «النَّاسُ ثَلَاثَةٌ سَالِمٌ وَغَانِمٌ وَشَاجِبٌ»
الْحَارِثُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُشَّانَةَ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ asked Abu Bakr, "When do you perform the Witr prayer?" He replied, "I pray two by two units of prayer, and then I perform the Witr prayer before I sleep." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "A cautious believer." The Prophet ﷺ asked Umar bin Khattab, "How do you perform the Witr prayer?" He replied, "I pray two by two units of prayer, and then I sleep until I perform the Witr prayer at the end of the night." The Prophet ﷺ said, "A strong believer."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سَأَلَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ «مَتَى تُوتِرُ؟» قَالَ أُصَلِّي مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ثُمَّ أُوتِرُ قَبْلَ أنْ أَنَامَ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مُؤْمِنٌ حَذِرٌ» وَقَالَ لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ «كَيْفَ تُوتِرُ؟» قَالَ أُصَلِّي مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ثُمَّ أَنَامُ حَتَّى أُوتِرَ مِنْ آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مُؤْمِنٌ قَوِيٌّ»
19.4.389 Subsection
١٩۔٤۔٣٨٩ مَعْرُوفُ بْنُ سُوَيْدٍ الْجُذَامِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عُشَّانَةَ
[Machine] I heard Uqbah ibn Amir say from the pulpit, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Madinah while I was tending to my sheep. I left them and went to him, saying, 'Will you allow me to offer you my allegiance, O Messenger of Allah?' He asked, 'Who are you?' So, I informed him. He then asked, 'Which type of allegiance do you prefer, an allegiance of migration or an allegiance of the Bedouins?' I said, 'An allegiance of migration.' So, he gave me his allegiance. Then he asked, 'Who is here from the people of Ma'add?' I stood up. He said, 'Sit down.' Then he asked, 'Who is here from the people of Ma'add?' I stood up. He said, 'Sit down.' He repeated this for the third time, and I stood up. Then I asked, 'Who are we, O Messenger of Allah?' He replied, 'You are from the tribe of Quda'ah, and then Malik ibn Himyar.'"
سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ وَأَنَا فِي غَنَمٍ أَرْعَاهَا فَتَرَكْتُهَا ثُمَّ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ تُبَايِعُنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ «مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ؟» فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ «أَيُّمَا أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ أَبَيْعَةُ هِجْرَةٍ أَوْ بَيْعَةٌ أَعْرَابِيَّةٌ؟» فَقُلْتُ بَيْعَةُ هِجْرَةٍ فَبَايَعَنِي ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَنْ هَاهُنَا مِنْ مَعَدٍّ فَلْيَقُمْ؟» فَقُمْتُ فَقَالَ «اقْعُدْ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَنْ هَاهُنَا مِنْ مَعَدٍّ فَلْيَقُمْ؟» فَقُمْتُ فَقَالَ «اقْعُدْ» ثُمَّ قَالَهَا الثَّالِثَةَ فَقُمْتُ فَقَالَ «اقْعُدْ» فَقُلْتُ مِمَّنْ نَحْنُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «أَنْتُمْ مِنْ قُضَاعَةَ ثُمَّ مَالِكِ بْنِ حِمْيَرٍ»
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The majority of hypocrites in my nation are its reciters."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَكْثَرُ مُنَافِقِي أُمَّتِي قُرَّاؤُهَا»
[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said, "When a servant of Allah purifies himself and comes to the mosque to observe the prayer, for every step he takes towards the mosque, ten rewards are written for him and the one who remains waiting for the prayer is rewarded like the one who prays, and he continues to receive rewards from the time he leaves his house until he returns to it."
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ «إِذَا تَطَهَّرَ الْعَبْدُ ثُمَّ أَتَى الْمَسْجِدَ يَرْعَى الصَّلَاةَ كُتِبَ لَهُ كِتَابٌ بِكُلِّ خَطْوَةٍ يَخْطُوهَا إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ وَالْقَاعِدُ فِيهِ يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ كَالْقَانِتِ وَيُكْتَبُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّينِ مِنْ حِينَ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْتِهِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ إِلَيْهِ»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever attributes to me something I did not say, let him take his seat in the Hellfire."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قَالَ عَلَيَّ مَا لَمْ أَقُلْ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever attributes to me what I have not said, let him take his seat in Hellfire."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ قَالَ عَلَيَّ مَا لَمْ أَقُلْ فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "On the Day of Resurrection, the sun will come close to the earth and people will sweat. Among the people, there will be those whose sweat reaches their knees, and among them are those whose sweat reaches their ankles, and among them are those whose sweat reaches their shoulders, and among them are those whose sweat reaches their necks, and among them are those whose sweat covers their entire body." And he gestured with his hand to demonstrate. He said, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spreading his sweat in this way, and some of them will have their sweat covering them." And he struck his head with his hand.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَدْنُو الشَّمْسُ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيَعْرَقُ النَّاسُ فَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ الْعَرَقُ إِلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ أُرَاهُ قَالَ إِلَى العَجُزَيْنِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلَغُ عَاتِقَيْهِ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَبْلُغُ وَسَطَ فِيهِ وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ فَأَلْجَمَهَا فَاهُ» قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَنْشُرُهَا هَكَذَا «وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يُغَطِّيهُ عَرَقُهُ» وَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ رَأْسَهُ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The people embraced Islam and Amr ibn al-As believed."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَسْلَمَ النَّاسُ وَآمَنَ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْعَاصِ»
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, is Hajj preferred with two prostrations?" He said, "Yes, so whoever does not prostrate in them, should not recite them."
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَفُضِّلَتِ الْحَجُّ بِسَجْدَتَيْنِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ فَمَنْ لَمْ يَسْجُدْ فِيهِمَا فَلَا يَقْرَأْهُمَا»
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, are there two prostrations in Surah Al-Hajj?" He said, "Yes, if one does not prostrate during them, then they should not recite them."
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَفِي سُورَةِ الْحَجِّ سَجْدَتَانِ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْجُدْهُمَا فَلَا يَقْرَأْهُمَا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every deceased person, when he dies, his actions are sealed except for the one who is on the frontier in the cause of Allah, for his actions will continue until he is resurrected."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «كُلُّ مَيِّتٍ إِذَا مَاتَ خُتِمَ عَلَى عَمَلِهِ إلَّا الْمُرَابِطَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ فَإِنَّهُ يَجْرِي عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى يُبْعَثَ»
[Machine] "To me, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Read the two Mu'awwidhatayn (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas), for indeed you do not recite anything similar to them.'"
لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اقْرَأْ الْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ فَإِنَّكَ لَا تَقْرَأُ بِمِثْلِهِمَا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If the Qur'an was in a skin bag, the fire would not consume it."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَو كَانَ الْقُرْآنُ فِي إِهَابٍ مَا أَكَلَتْهُ النَّارُ»
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Faith is Yemen and hardness and thickness of the hearts is in Rabiah and venomous poison is at the tails of camels."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «الْإِيمَانُ يَمَانٍ وَالْقَسْوَةُ وَغِلَظُ الْقُلُوبِ فِي رَبِيعَةَ وَمُضَرَ عِنْدَ أَذْنَابِ الْإِبِلِ»
[Machine] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The first two opponents on the Day of Resurrection will be two neighbors.'"
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «أَوَّلُ خَصْمَيْنِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ جَارَانِ»
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, Allah ﷻ is pleased with a youth who has no inclination towards worldly desires."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يَعْجَبُ مِنَ الشَّابِّ لَيْسَتْ لَهُ صَبْوَةٌ»
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said: "Whoever has three daughters and he is patient with them, will have a safeguard from the Fire."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ كُنَّ لَهُ ثَلَاثُ بَنَاتٍ فَصَبَرَ عَلَيْهِنَّ كُنَّ لَهُ سِتْرًا مِنَ النَّارِ»
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Your Lord is amazed at a shepherd in the middle of the desert who calls for prayer and establishes it."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَعْجَبُ رَبُّكُمْ مِنْ رَاعِي غَنَمٍ فِي شَظِيَّةٍ يُؤَذِّنُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَيُقِيمُ»
