Ali ibn AbuTalib commanded him to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what a man should do when he wants to have intercourse with his wife and the prostatic fluid comes out (at this moment). (He said): I am ashamed of consulting him because of the position of his daughter. Al-Miqdad said: I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it. He said: When any of you finds, he should wash his private part, and perform ablution as he does for prayer.

أَنْ يَسْأَلَ لَهُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ إِذَا دَنَا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ فَخَرَجَ مِنْهُ الْمَذْىُ مَاذَا عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّ عِنْدِي ابْنَتَهُ وَأَنَا أَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ قَالَ الْمِقْدَادُ فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ إِذَا وَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَنْضَحْ فَرْجَهُ وَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلاَةِ

"I said to Al-Miqdad: 'If a man is intimate with his wife and excretes prostatic fluid but does not have intercourse - ask the Prophet ﷺ about that, for I am too shy to ask him about it since his daughter is married to me.' So he asked him, and he said: 'Let him wash his male member and perform Wudu' as for Salah.'"

قُلْتُ لِلْمِقْدَادِ إِذَا بَنَى الرَّجُلُ بِأَهْلِهِ فَأَمْذَى وَلَمْ يُجَامِعْ فَسَلِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَإِنِّي أَسْتَحِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ وَابْنَتُهُ تَحْتِي فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ يَغْسِلُ مَذَاكِيرَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلاَةِ

) For his daughter is married to me and I feel too shy to ask him. So I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about that and he said: "If any one of you experiences that, let him sprinkle water on his private part and perform Wudu' as for Salah."

أَنْ يَسْأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ إِذَا دَنَا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ فَخَرَجَ مِنْهُ الْمَذْىُ مَاذَا عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّ عِنْدِي ابْنَتَهُ وَأَنَا أَسْتَحِي أَنْ أَسَأَلَهُ فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ إِذَا وَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَنْضَحْ فَرْجَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلاَةِ

) "For his daughter is (married) to me and I feel too shy to ask him." So he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about that and he said: "If any one of you notices that let him sprinkle water on his private parts and perform Wudu' as for prayer."

أَنْ يَسْأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ إِذَا دَنَا مِنَ الْمَرْأَةِ فَخَرَجَ مِنْهُ الْمَذْىُ فَإِنَّ عِنْدِي ابْنَتَهُ وَأَنَا أَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ فَسَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ إِذَا وَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَنْضَحْ فَرْجَهُ وَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلاَةِ

[AI] He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a man who approaches his wife and experiences sexual discharge. He said, "If someone experiences that, let him wash his private parts and perform ablution for prayer."

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَدْنُو مِنَ امْرَأَتِهِ فَيُمْذِي؟ قَالَ إِذَا وَجَدَ ذَلِكَ أَحَدٌ فَلْيَنْضَحْ فَرْجَهُ قَالَ يَعْنِي يَغْسِلُهُ وَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'n Nadr, the mawla of Abdullah ibn Ubaydullah, from Sulayman ibn Yasar from alMiqdad ibn al- Aswad that Ali ibn Abi Talib told him to ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what a man should do, who, when close to his wife, had a flow of prostatic fluid. Ali explained that the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was living with him then and he was too shy to ask for himself. Al-Miqdad said, "I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it, and he said, 'When you find that, wash your genitals with water and do wudu as for prayer.' "

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنِ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ إِذَا دَنَا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ فَخَرَجَ مِنْهُ الْمَذْيُ مَاذَا عَلَيْهِ؟ فَإِنْ عِنْدِي ابْنَتَهُ وَأَنَا أَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ قَالَ الْمِقْدَادُ فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ «إِذَا وَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَنْضَحْ فَرْجَهُ وَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ»

[AI] Al-Qa'nabi reported from Malik, who reported from Bakr ibn Sahl, who reported from Abdullah ibn Yusuf, all of them reported from Malik ibn Anas, who reported from Abu Nadhrah, who reported from Sulaiman ibn Yasir, who reported from Al-Miqdad that Ali commanded him to ask the Prophet ﷺ about a man who experiences ejaculation when he approaches his wife, what should he do? And I have his daughter and I feel shy to ask him. Al-Miqdad said, "So I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about that, and he said, 'If one of you experiences it, then let him perform ghusl, cleanse his private parts, and perform ablution for prayer.'"

"I said to Al-Miqdad: 'If a man is intimate with his wife and excretes prostatic fluid but does not have intercourse - ask the Prophet ﷺ about that, for I am too shy to ask him about it since his daughter is married to me.' قُلْتُ لِلْمِقْدَادِ إِذَا دَنَا الرَّجُلُ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ فَأَمْذَى وَلَمْ يُجَامِعْ فَسَلْ لِيَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَإِنِّي أَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ وَابْنَتُهُ تَحْتِي فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ «يَغْسِلُ مَذَاكِيرَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ»

[AI] To ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about what should be done if one experiences a discharge, I feel shy to ask him as I have a daughter. Al-Miqdad said, "So I asked him and he said, if any of you finds that, let him wash his intimate parts and perform ablution for prayer, like this."

أَنْ يَسْأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَحَدِنَا إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْهُ الْمَذْيُ مَاذَا عَلَيْهِ فِي ذَلِكَ؟ فَإِنَّ عِنْدِي ابْنَتَهُ وَأَنَا أَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ فَقَالَ الْمِقْدَادُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ إِذَا وَجَدَ ذَلِكَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَغْسِلْ فَرْجَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ هَكَذَا

[AI] That the Prophet ﷺ was asked about semen, and I feel shy to ask him, but he asked him. He said: "He should wash his private parts and his genitals, and perform ablution for prayer." This was narrated by Thawri, Ibn 'Uyaynah, a group of narrators from Hisham, from his father, from Ali, from the Prophet ﷺ . We were also narrated in this regard from Umar, Ibn Umar, and Ibn Abbas from their sayings.

أَنْ يَسْأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الْمَذْيِ فَإِنِّي أَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ يَغْسِلُ فَرْجَهُ وَأُنْثَيَيْهِ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ وَرَوَاهُ الثَّوْرِيُّ وَابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ وَجَمَاعَةٌ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ؓ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَرُوِّينَا فِي ذَلِكَ عَنْ عُمَرَ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مِنْ قَوْلِهِمْ

"عَنْ عايش بْنِ أَنَس أَحَد بَنِى سَعْدِ بْنِ لَيْث قَالَ: تَذَاكَرَ عَلِى بْنُ أَبِى طَالِبٍ وَعَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ وَالمِقْدَادُ بْنُ الأسْوَدِ المَذى، فَقَالَ عَلِىٌّ: إنِّى رَجُل مَذَّاء، فَاسْأَلُوا عَنْ ذَلكَ رَسُولَ الله ﷺ فَإِنِّى أَسْتحْيي أَنْ أَسْأَله عَنْ ذَلِكَ لمَكَانِ ابْنَته مِنِّى، فَسَألَهُ أَحَدُ الرَّجُلَيْنِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِىُّ ﷺ : ذَاكمُ المَذْىُ، إِذَا وَجَدَهُ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ فَليَغْسِلْ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ ثم لِيَتَوَضَّأ فَيُحْسِن وضُوءَهُ، ثُمَّ لِيَنْضَحْ فَرْجَهُ".
